The Green Gateau is an upper-scale neighborhood restaurant that has been in operation for over 25 years in the heart of downtown Lincoln. We have combined a European atmosphere with American contemporary cuisine to create a casual, yet refined feeling with delicious flavors.

Owners Eric and Cristi are proud to serve their award winning desserts, fresh seafood, and Nebraska Wagyu beef. This is just a fraction of the comprehensive menu that is sure to satisfy. We are also proud to source local and organic produce, dairy, meat, and wine.

The Green Gateau is a consistent winner of Lincoln's Choice 'Best Brunch', and offers brunch from 8-3 on both Saturday and Sunday.

Kurt, who is the manager on duty, was attentive to the tables as well as the servers he had good conversations for everyone. Our server was great as well.

We enjoyed our experience - the food was wonderful and the service was top notch. The only hiccup was my husband ordered his steak medium rare and it came out medium well. Our server had a new medium rare steak out in minutes and the whole dinner was delicious. Would highly recommend. It was one of two nights in town for us and the other places we dined at didn’t come close.

As always, the food, the service and the atmosphere was incredible. I cannot say enough about our server, Megan. She was very friendly, pleasant and paid close attention to our needs. She did a wonderful job and therefore complimented the amazing food and drink that she served.

This was my first time eating at Green Gateau other than for a party. The ambiance was wonderful, the waiters gave tips on gluten-free options, and food was delightful, and we didn't feel rushed (we arrived at 5pm on a Monday & stayed until 7 pm).

Food is always good and so is the service. It was especially busy, so there was more noise than usual, but still enjoyed our visit.

It's rare to get outstanding food at prices that are sensible, and this place pulls it off. And to cap it off, the cocktails served are generous! Beware, the bar is very limited, but everything else was so good, that didn't matter. Highly recommended!

The food was decent (and large portions) it’s pretty tight packed though. My server was very nice but my table was constantly being kicked and hit by servers unapologetically moving around and my table was awkwardly placed to be partially in a hallway so I was basically staring at every person who came through the door. Perhaps because I was eating alone? In any case, while I enjoyed the food, I probably would have done take out had I known.
