May and David Wasem's second Grand Lake Kitchen location offers the same uplifted American classics and warm hospitality as you've come to expect from the original but in a larger, more accesible and central location of the Dimond District in Oakland. An all-day cafe specializing in brunch and dinner! Maximum party size for regular reservations is 10.

Came here for Mother’s Day dinner with family. It was a busy night, and Service staff were attentive and helpful. Food quality was mixed: Char Siu pork chop was en pointe, they ran out of burgers buns & served with sliced bread (made it too filling), and the eggplant parm was way undercooked and salty. The fried Brussels sprouts was delish! Wish they were up front about running out of buns.

Compared to weekend brunch, dinner left something to be desired. Service and kitchen were both slow (took about 40-45 minutes to get food). It was dinner after Mother’s Day brunch and some items were replaced without being informed (for example, the Banh mi Acme roll was replaced by rye sourdough, and I wouldn’t have ordered it had I known). All in all, I would give it another chance since this was the aftermath of Mother’s Day.

Had a lovely Mother's Day brunch at one of the outdoor tables. Menu had so many delicious sounding dishes, we will have to go back!

This is a really nice hidden gem in Oakland. We met here for book club. One of us is gluten free, another pescatarian. And they could easily accommodate our needs, and happily. Very nice waitstaff. Loved the Brussels sprouts!

A great place to have a good meal and catch up! The location is spacious and gave off a very homey neighborhood feel. The food was delicious as usual.

I have eaten here a number of times, the menu is interesting and eclectic. It’s a very popular restaurant, during peak hours you need to be patient in regards to service and how quickly you get your drinks and food. This time I ordered their garden burger which I thought was really delicious.

Since GLK moved into our neighborhood, we've been eating here a lot. The food has wonderfully improved over the years, always tasty with an eye to detail. I've always been happy with the service as well. We bring our visitors here.

Grand Lake Kitchen is one of the most delicious restaurants to dine in. The wait staff was great and very accommodating. Someone in our group had a gluten intolerance and the waiter answered all our questions. We had a wonderful atmosphere, meal, and drinks.

We decided to order a bunch of small dishes and share them. Not one of them stood out as that good to me. The pickled vegetables I would pass on next time, kale salad was ok, cream of mushroom soup came out luke warm and I had them reheat mine, polenta was boring. The fried brussel sprouts and broccoli rabe were oily. The only thing that was decent was the garlic bread. The service was fantastic and friendly

We had a working lunch/discussion on a Sat. at lunchtime. The food was great, most of us had salads and burgers. Excellent meal. It was a bit noisy but that's OK. it was lunchtime and I'm glad for the restaurant that business was good.

Parking was a little challenging but it is a neighborhood favorite. Nicely packed for a Sunday evening. Service was prompt and very friendly. We were all pleased with the fried Brussels sprouts and our selections. I had the Char Siu pork chop. The rice noodles were underneath the generous pork chop. I might have preferred it to have a bed of rice rather than noodles. The noodles did not absorb the juices from the pork chop as I would have liked. The chicken breast was very tasty and our friend enjoyed the dish. Her daughter ordered the hangar steak and it was beautifully cooked to a medium rare and scarfed down rapidly. My husband ordered the warm prosciutto sandwich. which hit the spot. Nicely grilled. We ordered the mocktails and the beer on tap. Good variety of choices from the bar and good drinks. The made-to-order doughnuts were hot and dusted with sugar and nutmeg. A perfect bite that was comforting and tasty. A great diner and neighborhood gem.

Great service, cocktails, appetizers. However, The eggplant parma was not cooked.. sauce was delicious but eggplant was too thick and not cooked. Donuts were perfect. I would definitely go back but not order the eggplant.

First time visiting this location, and I look forward to returning soon. Charming and attentive staff in a welcoming neighborhood spot. High marks for cocktails, pickled vegetables, matzo ball soup, eggplant entree and chicken entree.

I’ve had brunch and lunch numerous times here but not dinner. We were with good friends and all of us consider ourselves “foodies” and were knocked out by how excellent our meal was. Everything was outstanding and the service was excellent.

My son and I had a wonderful brunch. We had the sourdough french toast and the french dip sandwich. Both were excellent. Portions were healthy, but best of all, good ingredients prepared well. Highly recommended.

I was disappointed. We got there before dinner "opened" so we ordered appetizers. While they came after the time we could have ordered, we asked for no cheese on the brussel sprouts (which were actually very good ) but they came with cheese and had to be redone. We were able to order finally and most of the food came promptly. One item was delayed by about 10 minutes despite someone else ordering the same thing and getting it way before. The broccoli raab was very bitter which they explained was seasonal. They could have added sugar, which we did to make it palatable. Cosmos were not worth $14. Desert (Galette and donuts) was good although delayed and the cappuccino never came. After most of the party had left, the waiter noticed tht we had not gotten the cappuccino so he gave it to us to go for $5.50 PLUS an extra $1 for oat milk. The bill for 5 adults and a child was $314 including tip. Not bad for a fancy dinner but this was not. All in all pretty disappointing
