Since opening its doors in 1984 Gotham has received a record six 3-star reviews from the New York Times. After closing alongside the pandemic for 18 months, in November of 2021 a renovated Gotham was reopened by new ownership, longtime Managing Partner Bret Csencsitz and environmentalist Kevin Conrad, with former pastry chef Ron Paprocki taking over the iconic kitchen. Redesigned by its original architect James Biber, Gotham is filled with a vibrant collection of contemporary art by established and emerging artists. A new library and lounge expand the bar experience, while Chef Paprocki's spectacular new menu is being heralded as equally approachable and unforgettable.

Reservations are available 11:30-2:30pm with two-hour music sets beginning at 11:30 and 1:30pm. Wonderful meal. The wine list needs work it has very few reasonable bottles on it, most of the selections are over $200 and many are over $500 which is nuts. Fine to have those prestige bottles on there that looks cool and is aspirational but some things in the $100 and below range are important for your average diner.

Ever since you reopened, the food has been exquisite. The earlier years when it was GB&G, the different chefs never really found themselves. Since the reopening and the re-emergence of the original chef, I think, the food is back to its glory as it was 15 years ago. Regardless, service has always remained superlative. I do miss the complimentary exquisite breads, intermezzo and after dinner edibles though.
