We had higher expectations with it being associated with Gordon Ramsey, but overall this was just an average burger restaurant. Even with the place not being busy, the staff seemed bothered and inpatient with customers, and rushed us through dinner.

Servers were less than friendly. The kitchen staff seemed irritated with the hostess. The food was overpriced. It tasted good. Not “great” but good. Too much hype and not enough delivery.

It's hard to choose because everything on the menu looks intriguing, but our server offered recommendations and made our visit fun. Absolutely delicious burgers and GFC Dirty Fries!

When we arrived nobody greeted us and we waited for a bit while two other groups were behind us. Once we sat down, it took awhile to be greeted and we also didn't receive water, which we asked for as soon as we sat down, eventually we had to ask another server. After we ordered, I saw the main server ignore the chef that food was ready while she was talking to another employee. Also, there was no ribs, which I wanted, and no milk shakes, which my husband wanted for dessert. The table sitting next to us was also having to ask for things they wanted/needed more than once. I expected better service from a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, since he is all about service. Very sad and know he would be disappointed.

The food was amazing but atmosphere was tense. Understandable the restaurant was busy and would drive any kitchen wild but it was like being in a kitchen nightmares episode. Kitchen staff falling out and walking out, while the front of house had to swoop in and save the day (joined the kitchen). Front of house amazing! Lovely and welcoming and no faults, however the kitchen did not reflect this.

Brilliant restaurant myself & my fiancé love coming here for a treat this time we brought our newborn daughter & she decided to wake for a feed as our food was served they took my food & put it back under the hot plate & even made me fresh fries so this very grateful mama got a hot meal honestly the service, the atmosphere & the food here is second to none only thing that would make it even better is if we bumped into the man himself when we were in the restaurant big Gordon fans if you can’t tell 😃

We arrived at the restaurant with a friendly host. Once seated quick service, ordered our drinks and asked for a minute to chose what food we would be ordering, after that our experience went downhill. We had been gifted a voucher and booked to celebrate our anniversary, so we had planned for a few drinks and a dessert alongside our meal. It took a while to take our food order, however we had noticed the restaurant had started to get busy. Once our food arrived we assumed the waiter was going back to bring the remainder of our sides, our drinks were empty so we were going to ask new ones. We started to eat our food whilst I made numerous attempts to Make eye contact with staff to get their attention, at times there were no staff in our section. We slowed eating hoping it was still to come out and that someone would approach us to ask how our meal was so that we can ask for the food and new drinks. Our meal was getting cold so we finished up, no longer wanted our sides as we had finished our mains, waited on someone approaching the table to clear so we could get the additional item removed from our bill and order dessert and drinks. We waited and again nobody approached or acknowledged our table. By the point a staff member approached us to clear we explained the situation, asked for the food that had not arrived to be taken off the bill. We were completely fed up and had no interest of staying there any longer, getting a dessert or more drinks at this time. The Waiter apologised and spoke to the manager who removed the sides from the bill. The manager did not bother to approach us to apologise for the inconvenience. Overall, I would say the food was nice to eat however between the missing food and the lack of service and atmosphere itself I would not recommend Street Burger at St James’s Quarterly at all! We expected high expectations of this restaurant and were completely disappointed. Poor service. Restaurant does not live up to its name unfortunately!

We just had another great dinner! Fantastic food, atmosphere and friendly staff. The only disappointment was that we waited 45 minutes for drinks and over an hour for food.

It was quite busy, there was a lot of staff. Sadly they didn’t impress us with the service they provided. Spilt beer, unattentive, no sweet or more drinks offered. I was also bumped into twice by not paying attention waiting staff. There is so many places to eat in Edinburgh that I will not return or recommend.

Mix up on the order was rectified and staff were apologetic - burger was ok but I think “hotter than hell” is pushing its luck as a description for the hot burger sauce…I think it maybe saw a chilli once. Fries are top drawer! Chef couldn’t add mayonnaise to the burger - bit weird! Far too many staff on the floor - falling over each other. Inexperience was evident - experienced floor staff were notably absent. Well below expectations!

Food was ok - really nothing special , overpriced for a small burger and chips . Serval items not available ( but hey they did have wine !) , server tried hard and was very pleasant . Seating upstairs was a bit soulless. Probably won’t be rushing back - so many nicer meal options in StJames Quarter .

Took an hour for us to get our food and nobody came over to let us know what was going on. After we had ate we had ordered more drinks and we got one and the other took ages to come, then took 20 mins for them to clear our plates even when we had stacked them up. I have been a few times and always been very impressed with service and most importantly food but this was a bit of a let down.

It was very basic. There was no ambiance, not very inviting. Very expensive for drinks and extras. A little disappointed based on Ramsay premises. Staff very friendly.

Booked table at 8pm and stood waiting for 10 mins before we were acknowledged, waited another 10 mins to sit down. we were then sat in a corner near stairs and kitchen, felt like a bit of a thoroughfare. the restaurant had completely run out of wine, and I mean ALL wine and service for drinks and food was super slow. food took forever, didn't get burgers till 9pm. burgers very nice but it was overpriced for what you got, particularly given the ambience and service. service was slack, and no one cleared plates despite staff walking past several times and seeing the empty plates. Ironic really that Gordan Ramsey would hate all the above, so a bit of a shame that this is not up to the standard I am sure he would expect in his restaurant chains

Our table wasn’t ready on arrival. Booking was for 7:30, but didn’t get to our table until 7:50. We couldn’t even order a drink while we waited! All wine & Prosecco was sold out apart from red wine. Food was really good, but service wasn’t that great and not much atmosphere upstairs in the restaurant. I would rush back :-(

The service was average as it was very busy, but we were taken to our table quickly. The managers were well organised, but the serving staff were inexperienced and did not know the table layout so had to ask for help. There was supposed to be draft beer and several wines but they only had one white wine and no draft beer. The bill for 2 burgers 5 wings and onion rings and 3 bottles of beer was £85 - which didn’t feel like good value

When we arrived early and offered to wait ( in the waiting area) we were met with a rushed and fairly abrupt member of staff. When we arrived at our table the lights had been dimmed so low we had to use mobile phone torches to read the menus. Overall experience wasn't great, food fell short I'm afraid

This review comes from a busy service in December, where I was part of a table of ten. It might be circumstantial and not applicable more widely. Feeling Looked After; With all the will in the world, this booking was doomed from the start. I booked from 4pm and we were seated at 4.30pm. When we first asked to order a drink in the waiting area, the server said "If I had someone who could take your drink order, I'd have them clear your table instead" and walked away. I think they engaged in some reflective practice because they came back and took an on the house drinks round instead. From there on, they really did the best they could with what was happening - however I don't think it was enjoyable for them or us. Food; Some of the add ons sounded cool - like the £2 cheese skirt. What wasn't as clear was that this is really just a process that involves paying extra for the grilling and crisping the cheese that would have been going on the burger anyway. That felt a bit unnecessary. One of the dishes was not prepared as the menu outlined so was changed. The bhaji burger was pretty delicious and the fries were good. Ambience; This was pretty bleak - people were there but it seemed quiet, like the same atmosphere as sandwiches and tea after a funeral. There were TV screens on the wall that weren't switched on so it felt a bit like a kind of local pub where it seemed like a good idea at the time to get them. I thought with the price point and the fact that it was in St James, it would be a bit more luxe.

Excellent food, staff very friendly checking we were happy and didn’t need anything, would recommend. We went at lunchtime and it wasn’t too noisy.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but burgers were excellent albeit a little expensive, but in our mind they were worth it. Dirty fries were very good and the onion rings are the ‘not to be missed’ item when visiting. Service was impeccable.

I expected better food at a "Gordon Ramsay" place. A hamburger, sort of tasteless and thin, cost £18.00. with a small bag of fries. My husband could not finish the curry burger, despite the fact that he loves all curries. Ambiance is is fact food.

Everything was amazing from start to finish, we came a bit early and they accommodated us nicely with drinks first before we ordered, lovely staff! Ambience nice and chilled, and foot excellent, my partner is hugely fussy and he says it was the best burger his ever eaten, huge compliment from him lol.
