Goldie’s is an intimate cocktail bar on the ground floor of the Austin Proper Hotel & Residences, helmed by Austin locals McGuire Moorman Hospitality. Goldie’s serves as an elegant and vibrant setting for a posh celebration, sophisticated drinks, or a romantic evening out — open to Proper’s hotel guests and residents only. The focal point of the room is a marble sunken bar, surrounded by a plush array of tweed and velvet seating. Very disappointing experience. We were seated (in a fairly empty space) over 15 minutes after arrival, but were reminded our reservation ended right at 3:30 for next seating. If you’ve done a high tea in other cities or countries, I do not recommend. Way over priced for the experience and service.

The space is lovely, Floral and feminine. The setting was perfect for a fancy women's high tea celebrating a birthday. Note that reservations made in advance will help you snag the time you want to relax and enjoy the ambience.

Second time experiencing afternoon tea at Goldie's and I have to admit, the first time was still the best. This time around, we did not get to smell the tea selections first and there was one tea in particular that I had tried last time that was so incredible, I was hoping to order it again but it was not available. The tea I chose this time was nothing special and it was also a little bitter. There was a larger group that was already there when we were seated and unfortunately we were seated nearby even tho it was not very full that day. The group was loud and it made for a less elevated experience. Overall, the service was good, the food was delicious, however, the tea and the ambience lacked a little. I don't know if we needed to upgrade to the royal tea options, but as I prepaid when making the reservation through open table, I didn't get an option to choose.

The bartenders were great, super friendly, and attentive. The entire staff did a great job! Have been multiple times and will continue going.

Beautiful setting and excellent food. Slightly cramped getting in and out of the swivel chairs - albeit there were seven of us. One of the three serving stands lacked the scones along with the butter, cream and jam - had to ask for those items. Loved the intimate atmosphere.

Proper Afternoon Tea at Goldie's delights in every way. The service, tea, nibbles, atmosphere were all excellent. Be aware that the space is beautifully cozy and the vibe is quiet conversation.

One of my favorite experiences in Austin. I have been 3 times and just booked for an early Mother’s Day gift. 10/10 every time service is immaculate the quality of the food and tea is top tier and it is just so much fun.

Probably the cutest cocktail bar I have ever been to. The service was 10/10. All bartenders/servers were so knowledgeable and kind. I will be coming back!

Loved everything but the food. There were only 3 savory items plus raw radishes (huh?). There were more sweets but they were not consistently-sized. Other than the scones it felt like the sweets were leftover from another event. To be fair, I’m comparing this tea to ones I have been to at the Peninsula and Drake in Chicago which are the gold standard. However, I’ve recently been to tea in Pittsburgh and the Chicago suburbs that were far better.

I took my wife on a date for the high tea. I thought everything was reasonable and great value. The decor is amazing and we had privacy during our session. Would highly recommend!

If you've ever wanted to get a feeling of being modern royalty in a public tea house, this is about as close as you can get, at least here in Texas. The teas were absolutely amazing, and the food was definitely delicious. The bites are very worthy of an Instagram post, and they taste like it too! The price is a bit high for what you get, but what is money if not to be spent on life experiences? Not for kids, based on price, but definitely worth it to us, as adults.

High tea at Goldie’s was an amazing experience! The vibes were immaculate and the intimate space made us feel special. Exceptional service! Knowing that this serves more of an experience than a meal will greatly help to enjoy the experience better! Planning a meal before or after is the move for sure.

Took my mom and we had so much fun! Staff was warm and attentive, the setting was unique and interesting, and the food and tea was wonderful. Also super appreciate the vegan offerings!

The afternoon tea was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Highly recommend the tea service. We also sampled cocktails and bites upstairs. The food was not as impressive as the afternoon tea. For example, we ordered warm Brie and bread and the Brie was room temperature, not warm. Other than that, a really nice place in a beautiful hotel.

Beautiful, swanky and amazing service!! We loved spending part of our New Year’s Eve there. There’s no food, just complimentary bar snacks. Drinks are innovative and very very good.

A very fancy bar to experience traditional high tea. We celebrated my mother’s 89th birthday and she loved it! Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. We would go again for a special occasion!

Fedor was absolutely wonderful and took great care of us. This tea service rivaled other fabulous ones had at the baccarat hotel in nyc and Claridges in London.

We had afternoon tea at Goldie’s and it was fantastic. Chef even made accommodations for a seafood allergy. Service, food and ambience were all amazing. Highly recommend!!

Great atmosphere and vibes. Robust spirits list and amazing, innovative cocktail menu – each drink was well balanced and delicious with a beautiful presentation. The service was fantastic! The bartender/mixologist talked us through the tasting notes and what to expect for each cocktail selection to ensure we made the right choice. Would definitely recommend to cocktail lovers.

This is such a fun thing to do with girlfriends. It's this cozy little quaint spot inside the Austin proper hotel and it is so worth going to. You get different bites to snack on throughout your time there

honestly, like most intimate bars in austin this one misses the mark. it's beautiful, sure, but packed, and insanely loud. for the vibe they're going for (with $20 cocktails) you'd think the ambiance would be less reminiscent of dirty sixth as far as volume. additionally, i know we have entered the era of obscenely priced cocktails in austin, and i will pay for them more often than the next guy because i love cocktails, but please at least be creative with the menu -- a bees knees is not it. bummed because i had been wanting to check this place out for ages but it is absolutely overhyped and just not worth a visit.

I absolutely love this place! It is super cute and such an incredible experience. The selection of teas are fabulous and the bites are just phenomenal. I highly recommend Goldie’s! If you are looking for a place to catch up with friends, or have an intimate setting for easy conversation, this is the perfect spot.

My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea at Goldie’s. The selections of tea were nice. I particularly liked being able to smell the teas to aid in choosing which one to get. They catered to my vegetarian request well. The servers were knowledge and helpful without hovering. The scones were my favorite food item.
