Chef Stephanie Izard and her team are thrilled to join LA’s vibrant restaurant community and continue our tradition of serving tasty, bold-flavored foods in a fun and lively family-style setting. A few favorites, like goat empanadas and sautéed green beans, will be back on the menu. Stephanie and her team have also crafted new dishes inspired by California produce and local flavors, like carrot-tahini dip with tahini tofu, and curried goat with radishes, pickled vegetables, and masa chips. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located in the Arts District at 555 Mateo, Girl & the Goat offers dinner service Monday through Sunday, plus brunch Sunday. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads and adventurers!

    Second time there. If there for 2, only order 3 plates for comfortably full, 4 plates for very full. The food is so good. The most memorable are the beef cold noodles. Always a surprise how good. Goat curry, amazing. Crunch chicken is kind of disappointing. I wish some of there drinks came with one big ice cube rather than ice cubes. It would feel like they have the time and resources to make and serve big ice. Petty detail, I know… all in all, a lovely lovely place! Will definitely keep coming back.

    All in all fabulous per usual. Perfect weather to sit outside. The pork shank and goat curry were big standouts and easily sharable. The Sichuan halibut was also a fun and delicious addition to our meal. We capped it off with the mango stick rice, and it was a happy end to the meal. Delicious mango tamarind ice cream, coconut fluff and warm sticky rice? Need I say more? Perfection.

    The food was absolutely outstanding. We all ordered something different and it was all delicious. Service was great and ambiance is so beautiful. Loved it!

    We were made to wait much longer than other guests, but probably, they didn't like the color of my skin. However, they tried to make up with a complimentary appetizer. The salad order was too sour, which they gladly replaced. The goat curry was delicious, but I've been nautilus since the meal thru the night. My wife replaced her salad with seabass, which she found was a bit too hard. Love the ambiance, but may not return back for a long time. I would choose to try other places over returning here.

    It was a very enjoyable dinner, from the host to the wait staff everyone were trying to make the dining experience superlative. The food was tasty, with the right amount of spices. I will go back to try other dishes we did not get to taste.

    Our food and drinks were AWESOME. We each had a cocktail and we split 4 plates, which was plenty of food. The bite of the night was the green beans, they were fantastic. The goat curry was also really tasty. Our waitress was a bit inattentive, but the gentleman who cleared the tables and continuously refilled our water was awesome (I hope he gets a share of the tips because this place wasn’t cheap).
