Always the best food and service. It is getting louder, the crowd is getting younger, then again, I’m getting older. New must haves: asparagus, halibut, crab butter pork belly - heavenly! Chef’s kiss!

Lived up to all the hype! Also loved that they offered half portions of some of their menu items, so solo dinners can experience some of their more popular dishes.

The Confit, Goat Empanadas, the pig's head and the asparagus, were spectacular, enough portion on the plate to be able to order several and share!

Girl & the Goat was the best meal we’ve ever had. Everything was phenomenal! From the Goat Fashioned to the asparagus to the short ribs, amazing amazing amazing. Our favorite dishes in order: 1. Short rib 2. Asparagus 3. Pork shank 4. Olive focaccia 5. Goat empanadas But everything was neck and neck and we would order it all again!

This place is just fantastic. Food is amazing- no bad choices!! The din is a bit too much, the AC frigid but the space is amazing, best food in Chicago!

A bucket list meal that did not disappoint. My husband and I are in town for a conference. We ordered the chickpea fritters, empanadas, green beans, big face and pork shank. My favorite was the fritter and my husbands was the empanadas. We shared the praline sundae for dessert. Our waiter was kind and attentive. Enjoyed everything about this place.

Had a wonderful graduation dinner there. Staff was fabulous. Timing of everything was impeccable and the food was amazing. Of all things, we will all be talking about the green beans for a long long time….

The food is difficult to like. Seasonings are stunning to the palate, and not in a pleasurable way. Hard to get excited when the choices are goat and pork, and the harsh seasonings can't compensate. Service was mediocre: we arrived about 4 min after our reservation time, which sentenced us to a 15 minute wait for our table. (Not a big deal, if everything else goes ok.) Our second (and final) drink round was ignored until our mains were nearly finished. The server pushed us to order five entrees "for sharing" for the three of us, but we couldn't even finish the four we ordered. Despite being Mother's Day, the place wasn't jammed so it's hard to understand the lackadaisical service. On top of all that, it was very expensive. We very much enjoyed previous visits, but tonight was exasperating and indicative of a serious decline in quality.

We celebrated Mother's Day so there was a set menu. The food was good and wonderfully presented. The serving size for my twenty- something sons was small, specifically with regard to protein. On the other hand there was more than enough potatoes. The service was wonderful and they were accommodating for a vegetarian family member with delicious substitutes.

I sat at the bar and still got top notch service. I got the broccoli with bleu labneh and the short ribs; both were a 10/10. I was so excited to finally eat at a Stephanie Izard restaurant, and I'm so glad it did not disappoint. Would love to come back here with a big group to split a bunch of things.

My experience was magical, everything I had hoped for. The green beans live up to the hype, the Spicy Boy mocktail was like fireworks, and the plantain tres leches with sour cream gelato was about as close to perfect as I’ll ever see. Also, I was dining alone, and my server was so thoughtful to point out which dishes could be scaled down so I could try more things. Perfect evening, well worth the trip.

G&G has a great kitchen, and the bar makes great and innovative cocktails. The service is very good too. In the past it's been somewhere on the edge between energetic and too loud. This time it was so loud at 9:45 pm (recorded music they were playing, not the crowd) that my Apple Watch twice interrupted me to warn me that the noise level could cause temporary hearing damage in 30 minutes. That has NEVER happened to me in a restaurant before. This was just intolerably loud, and in spite of the great kitchen and bar, I won't be returning.

My friend and I went to Girl and the Goat because of a recommendation. It did not disappoint. We’d had an early dinner and weren’t really hungry. So, we decided on a couple apps and cocktails. The wood-fire broccoli and crispy bbq pork belly were our picks. The broccoli was perfectly seasoned and the perfect texture. Now, crispy bbq pork belly, the sauce was divine. So, good in fact that I ate the leftovers cold. Add Girl and the Goat to your list!

The food here was excellent, and the service was equally superb. Our big issue was the noise level. It was so, so loud. When you walked in, it was deafening, and the music they chose to play was rap for a restaurant of this caliber. Why? That alone will be a reason for which we will not return.

I love Girl and the Goat. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the city with their concise menu and delicious options. I went last night for the third time since I moved to the city, and have had nothing but excellent service and a great time. Last night, I went with a group of 4 people and we asked our waiter how many dishes we should order which he recommended about 12 to share. Our waiter confirmed our back to us and then proceeded to put the order in with the kitchen. The items started to come out 1 by 1 which is what the restaurant prefers. At the end of the night we received 9/12 items and our waiter brought over a dessert menu. When we mentioned we were missing the Green beans, Poke, and Crispy Pork Belly, he proceeded to get very defensive and confused as if we made a mistake and left the table. About 10 minutes later, the manager came up to our table asking if we did receive items, we confirmed which ones and the manager walked away without saying anything. The manager proceeded to take the items off and bring our check over, but we never saw our waiter again, and never received any apology for either of them. They made us feel as if we did something wrong with the food order for the items not to come. It was just odd behavior.

We loved the food and the experience. Wait staff a little slow in the beginning. Sat next to the kitchen at a long table with 12 staff members walking by us but still took 15 minutes for waiter to come over. That was our only issue. Once we got started the small plates were excellent. Pigs face, green beans, pork belly, ricotta…all delish. We enjoyed and will be back!

Wow. The final restaurant in our food tour. What a way to end. My wife and I were given a gift certificate from our daughter and husband when they heard we were going to Chicago. What a fantastic choice. The restaurant has a wonderful vibe with both inside and outside dining options. The menu is made up of tasting portions so feel free to explore. The complexities of textures and flavors that we got from these dishes were spectacular. We started with chickpea fritters, which was the perfect melding of the chili heat and coolness from the cucumber yogurt. We also got the goat empanadas which were screaming with flavor. We added to that the roasted pig face which was incredibly flavorful. The star of the show was the crispy short rib. It was a mouthgasm. Our dessert of hazelnut praline sundae was the perfect way to end this culinary excursion with its abundance of flavors.

Over-the-top loud restaurant with good vegetable dishes and poor fish dishes. Honestly, I don't understand why our order was sequenced the way it was nor why the final dish (halibut) was presented the way it was. The quantities are small - small plates for $25+ each. The cocktails were okay. We started being delivered two veggie dishes that were really good, then the goat empanadas which were fair, then the halibut, that was described to us a "inspired by a peanut butter and jelly sandwich". Honestly, in addition to being served tepid to us and being overcooked, that idea really riuned it - who wants fish that tastes like PB&J? And the noise - crazy loud, no mitigation put in place, and crappy Hip-Hip playing very loud over the speakers. Patrons were speaking in loud tones to attempt to get over the music - dumb. I don't think we'll be back - there are much more relaxing places in Chicago that aren't as overrated.
