For over 20 years, Chef Robert Holden worked side-by-side with master chef Giovanni Carandola, perfecting his ability to create one-of-a-kind Italian dishes. Chef Robert prepares everything from scratch, and hand picks fresh vegetables, fish, and meat on a daily basis, ensuring that all of his cuisine is as fresh as possible. The recipes used at Giovanni’s come from regions of Sicily and Northern Italy, which makes for a truly authentic Italian menu.

    We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Being from New York expectations were low. We were seated immediately and bread (which was delicious) and waters came almost as soon as we sat down. Everyone was super nice and atmosphere was great. Pasta fragile was yummy, good salad. We shared a margherita pizza which was not like one would expect - no tomato sauce. It was garlicky and cheesy though and the crust was good. Not bad overall. The one negative was the entranceway floo material is very slippery especially when it is wet outside and is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Otherwise a very nice restaurant. Would definitely go back if in the area again

    It took a very long time to have a server to show up to take the initial drink order. It took a very long time to have the drinks served. We placed our orders again after a long wait. Salad were included with the meal. The main course was received before the salads were even served. Needless to say salads were never received or compensated for. The steaks were what you would get at Ponderosa. When the bill finally came (again after a very long time) it was incorrect.

    Had a reservation for 4 on Mother's day. Arrived 5 min early and they sat us at a table for 8. Lady came to our table three times to confirm our order ticket. We asked for drinks - they never came. We waited for 1 hour for food and 3/4 of us were missing part of our meals (3 side salads & 1 set of vegetables). One of us asked for no mushrooms on a chicken dish - it came with mushrooms so the server took it away and returned 2 minutes later with the same plate with most of the mushrooms picked off. When we got the check, we thankfully did not get charged for the drinks. There were not may people in the restaurant when we dined there, especially for a holiday.

    We had a wonderful meal and great service. Holiday limited menu, but overall would recommend and return to try some other dishes!

    I wish I could have done zero stars. I have no idea how the food was since we never served anything. The people at the table next to us sent their meal back and one found a fingernail in their salad. We had a 530 reservation and were seated at a table without enough chairs or place settings and it took them ten minutes to find a chair while my son stood in the middle of the restaurant. A server never came to our table we watched another table get their own water refills and we couldn’t even get a place setting for my son. After 55 minutes we finally got a manager and he and the hostess then had an argument over him taking orders(he didn’t want to take them ) The hostess kept seating people but there was no one getting any orders. When the manager finally came to take our order with no apology for the wait or any remorse we were told everything we tried to order was sold out. They had a set Mother’s Day menu and it was early when we began this journey but there was no food left. We understood it was a busy day that is why we waited but this was like a bad episode of Hells Kitchen where they never get any food served. We will never return. We had heard great things about this restaurant but obviously that was in the past and I would say avoid at all costs.

    I have passed by this restaurant for decades and never went to eat there. Until I decided that I wanted to try it out on this Mother's Day. I had made a reservation 2 months in advance. When my family and I got there, there was no one at the front desk to check us in. A waitress named Tiffany said, "how many in your party?". We were treated as just walkins. Tiffany said that the wait for our table to be prepared was going to be a while. There was hardly any other customers in there, for it to be Mother's Day. Then when we were finally seated, Tiffany apologized and said that they were short staffed and that we would have to wait on our food for a while. We never received our salads until I asked where our salads were. Because our food came out before our salads. Then we had ordered pizza for the kids in our party. But Tiffany came back out and said that the kitchen said they were not making pizzas that day. The children in my party never received their food substitutions. We were charged for the kids meals anyway. My oldest daughter was over charged for her meal. She had mentioned to the waitress that the price on the menu was less than what she was charged for her meal. The waitress threw her $2 and said that she was giving that out of her pocket because the Owner wouldn't allow her to give out any refunds. The waitress was talking about the owner and the staff in a negative way to my family & I, and other customers. She had mentioned that it was her birthday and that she had to come in to work on her special day. We saw her crying with her manager. I tipped her anyway for her effort. However, I told her that it was very unprofessional for her to bad mouth the people that she worked for like that and placing all the blame on them like that. And not taking some type of responsibility for poor service, since she disclosed that she was an Assistant Manager. I was highly disappointed with our experience, being that it was our first visit.

    I love Giovanni's but I know now not to go for Mother's Day. I felt bad for the server, as she was extremely overwhelmed and over worked. We had a limited menu and only small glasses of water to drink because the fountain gun was not working. The wine list was limited as well due to being out of a lot of items. I had two salad forks and never received a dinner fork so needless to say it was challenging eating chicken parm with a little fork. I will go back one day but never on Mother's Day.

    Mediocre - I personally would not go back or recommend to others. Just an opinion from an Italian girl who has had a lot of Italian food over the years.

    I absolutely love Giovanni‘s! So did my mom and my 18-year-old daughter, so there is something there for everyone. The food was absolutely delicious and came out with perfect timing. Tiffany was our waitress. She was awesome !friendly, easy to talk to, quick and could not have been more professional and nice to me and my family. We will definitely be returning for dinner, and will be referring them to friends and family!
