The Afternoon Tea Ritual is a quintessential St. Regis tradition and an important part of our culture. The story of afternoon tea date back to Anna, Duchess of Bedford who is considered to have invented the ceremony of the afternoon tea party. Mrs. Caroline Astor adopted the tradition stateside, offering an occasion to gather her closest intimates as a prelude to formal social events. This ceremony was then continued by her son, Jhon Jacob Astor IV, at the St. Regis New York, and ultimately around the world as a signature ritual in all of our hotels.. Our exquisite afternoon tea ritual offer is presented in Oriente Italiano™ c/o Ginori 1735. La Via del Tè is particularly sensitive to environmental and ethical issues.

Excellent service. Really well looked after. It was our 10year anniversary and they really made it special.

We eat out a lot and have never had such a miserable waiter. Ruined our experience Also if you sit near the plants you will be eaten alive by the mosquitoes which could easily be fixed by candles

This restaurant was lovely. I visited Venice with my partner and it was the last restaurant we had booked for our visit (the other restaurants being traditional restaurants that served authentic Venetian dishes). I was sceptical about this restaurant as the price is quite high, but I would say it is worth it. It is situated on a lovely spot on the canal and we arrived by water taxi which was convenient. We took the lunch tasting menu with the wine pairing. The food was described as Venetian dishes with a twist and I found all of it to be delicious. The bread was warm and soft (freshly baked), the cuttlefish bonbon was divine, pasta dumplings were also very nice (they "pop" inside of your mouth), and the brioche was full of different flavours and textures (white chocolate, with the soft brioche, tangy and zesty gelato, and some nuts). The wine pairings were also good; I enjoyed the dessert wine pairing with the brioche the most which was a Romanian wine from 2020 called "Transylvania Ice Wine", and the orange wine with the pasta dish. Other than that, we had their version of a Bellini (with strawberry instead of peach) and some espresso to finish. Overall a lovely lunch to end our trip in Venice. Because of the price I don't think we would eat here again with so many cheaper options in the city but it was nice for a one-off experience. The only criticism I could make would be that I felt the portion for the starter and pasta dishes could be slightly larger (only 3 bonbons and 5 dumplings), it worked well for a light lunch but I felt it could have been more substantial. I have to compliment all of the staff for their friendliness but especially our sommelier, a lady with dark hair, who described the wines with a nice amount of detail and was very kind.

My wife & I made a reservation at Gio's for my birthday & everything was perfect. The staff were friendly, always attentive & they gave us a table right in front of the water with an amazing view. The food was delicious, giving us enough time in between each course to savor & digest. There was no rushing us out of the restaurant & at the end, they brought over their delicious tiramisu with Happy Birthday written on this tasty, sweet white chocolate bar. If you're in Venice & have the chance, definitely check out Gio's! Would definitely recommend this to all my friends.

Gio’s is a fantastic experience. Service is top notch and the food is delicious. We have come here during every visit to Venice and they do not dissapoint

The bar experience was excellent, undoubtedly 5 stars. The dining experience was less than desirable. Service was slow and inattentive, food was undercooked, some items were overly salty. Seating location was not as requested despite prior arrangements made. Refund was offered and accepted otherwise this would be 1 star rating.

We reserved a Saturday 1700 High Tea. There were only two parties that was there for the afternoon tea. It was quite pleasant to be almost exclusively served with so few guest. Anna, I believe was our server was very engaging and informed us on what was to expect during tea service. She offered some suggestion for tea flavors that complements the food offering. Her suggestion was excellent. The ambiance was great. The table and porcelain setting was impressive. The view of the canal and Dorsodouro was really nice. Our high tea lasted more than 90 minutes and we could have stayed a little longer if we chose to. I think this was really worth the value for what was rendered. They even decorated our dessert to commemorate our wedding anniversary. Hats off to you St. Regis.
