Was really looking forward to our visit to Gino's. Heard so many good things about his restaurants. The decor and layout of the restaurant was very modern and welcoming. We were shown to our seats and settled in. No rush to take our orders. All was very pleasant. We ordered drinks and starters. The wine we ordered was shown and presented, poured and then put in a lovely chiller at the side of the table. We ordered a sharing starter, Tomato Scarpetta. It was very nice but felt it was very expensive for what is essentially bread and tomatoes. We then ordered our mains which were very nice. But whilst dining there was a complaint on the table next to us. Two of the waiters were trying to calm the situation for some considerable time. Once those diners left one of the waiters, clearly annoyed, was clearing the table up knocking glasses over and very noisily clearing up. He then walked past our table and literally threw the napkins into the service station. Very unprofessional and ruined our dining experience. Whilst our service was okay, not once did anyone ask if our food was okay or show any attention to detail. We've had better service in Wetherspoons. Such a shame on what my partner and I thought would be a memorable evening. I feel our experience was probably a one off and my review may be considered unfair, but this was our honest experience during our visit.

I'm not a complainer and understand mistakes happen, but this was the worst service I'd ever had. The bread starter turned up first, before drinks. The drinks took half an hour for three soft drinks and they also forgot a bottle of sparkling water. We were attending a show at the AO, so needed to leave in good time. Our mains took 1hr 20 to come out. We asked a waiter how much longer it would be as we needed to go, he checked with the chef and came and told us 4 minutes. 10 minutes had past and still no food, asked again and he said it was coming. One of the party ordered the prawn ravioli, when it came to the table it was so smelly, and extremely fishy. One of the party was a chef and told her not to eat it. It smelt off. She sent it back to the kitchen, but was offered no apology or replacement. The waiter then came out and told us that the chef had tried it and said it was fine and nothing was wrong with it. She didn't want it anymore and shared a dish with someone else on the table. Nothing else was offered to her, they did however, remove it from the bill. I didn't have time to finish my meal, so had to leave it. This is a lovely looking restaurant in a great location, but unfortunately let down by some of the staff. This was a Saturday night and it wasn't full so there should be no excuse for such slow service. I wouldn't mind if they apologised, but they just didn't seem to care. We were not the only ones who were unhappy in there. Such a shame.

Was extremely impressed with Ginos having been before and being disappointed we weren’t this time. Food and staff were excellent. And the maitre de very attentive. Only slight disappointment was this was a celebration for my husband which I informed the restaurant about and of course my husband told everyone 😂 but there wasn’t anything special given which has always happened before. Maybe that’s too much to expect but a free glass of Prosecco or a small piece of cake for someone’s birthday is usually a nice touch. Would definitely go again though as was a good experience thank you

Run out of dough Hour before Main came out wasn’t even that busy Food was bang average and I wasn’t the only one in there not happy. I can’t imagine Gino would be too happy putting his name to that rubbish they are dishing out.

Starters were probably the best part Mains- belly pork was great, nice seafood pasta, good portions, and ragu was ok. Let down was chocolate fondant, stodgy and sauce wasn’t nice, though tiramisu was good. Minors on service , but made up in attention to ensure we was enjoying our experience. Lack of interaction- for example nice day or was we celebrating? Toilets are up 2 flights of stairs and 6 doors ! We’llCome back to enjoy the menu and nice wine selection.

My partner and I visited Gino D’Acampo restaurant for my birthday. The staff were all lovely very welcoming and helpful, offering food suggestions from the menu. Good value for food. The food was amazing. My partner had the salmon, next time he would order a side as the salmon just came with spinach and a sauce. I had the bolognaise which was amazing and very filling. Overall great experience. We will be returning.

The staff were lovely and really helpful The food was great, portion sizes were generous and food tasted really good. The staff made sure we were happy for the duration. We never felt rushed once. The staff added extra special touches for the birthday meal to feel more special. The only tiny improvement would be the music to be a tiny bit quieter. Despite this we really enjoyed our visit and would go again

I found the food to be quote basic and over salted. the food wasn't bad or anything, but was missing the wow factor and was REALLY overpriced for what you get. Drinks are very expensive too. Wouldn't recommend it.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food was pretty tasty. Unfortunately the staff were disinterested and there was a significant delay between our starters and main course. When we asked we were told there was a party of 50 who had ordered, given this was a known booking it was disappointing this couldn’t have been foreseen and managed better.

After booking a month in advance, was told they would cancel or change my reservations as they had a much larger party booked now . ( 2 weeks after I booked) We felt like we were an inconvenience from the moment we arrived. Then half our party was served mains 1/2 hour before the rest of our tables. We were then ignored for over an hour until a waiter then said “ we need your table you have to go!” So we said we had been waiting for the bill for nearly an hour. It then took another 15 minutes before they brought the bill and still had the cheek to add full service charge. Definitely not recommended. Such a shame as all the other Ginos I have visited in the uk have had perfectly good service. This restaurant really lets the Gino name down.

We were last minute getting to the restaurant before going to a show. I mentioned this to our waiter on arrival and even though they were busy, which was great to see, we were served promptly and our meal arrived quickly. Food was delicious as always. Can’t wait to return :)

Went for lunch during half term on an extremely wet day! It was our first time at a Gino restaurant. We visited as our teen is a fan of Gino so thought it’d be nice that visit to kick off our day (and he’s already eaten at Gordon’s plenty of time so thought we’d share the love ;) ) The service, ambience and food was just excellent. The staff were extremely attentive. Exactly what we would expect from a Gino restaurant.

Nice decor, was disappointed with the waiter who didn't seem to want to be there and was very happy to point out to us that Gino doesn't actually own the restaurant and has nothing to do with it. Which was disappointing when you came there for Gino's food. Food was okay but nothing special for the price

The restaurant looks great, but some of the staple Italian options were not available on the menu and the main meal I ordered was very underwhelming. some of the staff were miserable at times and we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a welcome guest. not what I was expecting from Gino's. I had very much been looking forward to my colleagues enjoying our visit as I had recommended it based on previous visits to the old Gino's in Manchester a few years ago. I had also planned to visit again with another group of friends, but I'd be reluctant to recommend it now.

Absolutely amazing meal for my birthday. The staff are so lovely and the food is great and also good value for money. Portion sizes are very good too. Will definitely be back!

Food was nice however service wasn’t great. Eg waiter did not ask how our meal was, only Italian I have ever been too where I have not been offered pepper and Parmesan for my pasta dish yet other waiters seemed to be doing this for their tables. Had to wait for our pre booked table which wasn’t an issue in itself however then sat down and no cutlery so had to ask for this too. Just expected better really will stick to our local smaller family run Italians in future.

Ordered fish pasta dish, food came out cold I did raise with the waiter he took it back and simply reheated the dish in a microwave and did not provide me with a fresh dish. The fish was then over cooked but pasta was too hot to eat. Poor for such high prices.

The food and service is excellent. Pricing is reasonable for a major city location. Staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend dining here.

Excellent restaurant nice lunch menu. Service overall was very good. Did take a bit of time for starters to come but the waiter was very apologetic and we were the first lunch customer. Didn't affect our experience at all. Food was fantastic and good sized portion. We went for the 2 course lunch experience which included a drink and was great value for money. Staff polite and helpful. A great pre theatre lunch experience and we would highly recommend Gino's restaurant. We will certainly be visiting again.

Very poor service from reception to receipt. When we arrived we made eye contact with about 5 staff but no one greeted us for about 5 mins. Then when we finally ordered we had to chase up our very easy drinks order: sparking water and a pint, having waited 20 mins. The starters were very plain: we had Aranchine, which supposedly had Ragu however you’d be lucky if you could spot any. 90 mins into our visit we had to chase up our mains as well, having waited a good 40 minutes after starters. 20 minutes of this wait, I had an empty glass and after ordering just a tap water I had to wait 10 minutes until I chased up that too. I didn’t get this until after I’d finished my main. Luckily the main course was good but didn’t outweigh the disappointing experience up to that point. One of the waiters thought it useful to say: they always think after you receive your food or drinks after waiting, it doesn’t feel like you’ve waited at all because it’ll be so good! Not a very good apology and I think the guest are best to make that judgment. They also went on to blame it being a Saturday; (but Saturdays happen every week, unfortunately for them) it’s disappointing that resource isn’t planned to the regular peaks and troughs of demand. On resource, perhaps the front of house might have been more aware of the requirements of the business rather than dedicating so much time to napkin rolling and menu sorting. I’m sure if Gino sent mystery diners he’d be very disappointed in the feedback. During our (long) visit we noted 4 other tables either chasing or sharing issues about their orders. Perhaps this isn’t a one off?

Quite busy and noisy. Good range of choice on the menu. Lots of staff although they didn’t seem to be doing a very efficient job. Starters were good and a nice salad main but the pasta dishes were both too salty.

was greeted by a young man who asked how many, said we were a booking, he did a few taps on the computer then left and went and seated another family and didn’t come back..left standing there like erm..do we follow do we not, Was seated by a girl then, had to earwig from the next table about the menu’s, specials, as non of this was explained to us but 2 minutes later explained to the gents next to us, they were given a much warmer welcome than us, not sure why. So started the meal off abit confused seemed the staff were abit all over the place even though restaurant was quiet, that being said the food was nice bar one- the spaghetti carbonara was SO salty my friend said her lips were tingling after every mouthful. Nice gesture of some free ice cream for my friend who’s birthday it was. Wouldn’t not return but also wouldn’t be in a rush too.

This is a beautifully designed restaurant, and the ambiance is really warm and welcoming. The staff we encountered were all Italian which adds to the authenticity of the place, they were all friendly and enthusiastic. The menu covers all bases and our dinner and dessert was gorgeous.

1.5hrs from our booking before we got our starters. Food is really good. Staff are friendly. Management of time is terrible. If it wasn’t for the food and staff, this would have been a 1.
