Nestled within the Domain Road enclave in South Yarra with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens sits Gilson.

Gilson’s intimate dining room is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week and caters for large groups and private dining events.

Gilson offers an all day menu focusing on Italian cuisine and seasonal flavours.

A neighbourhood favourite due to its relaxed setting, friendly staff, fabulous drinks list and dishes such as the ‘avocado bruschetta’ for breakfast, the ‘Seafood Linguine' for lunch or dinner, and a 'tiramisu' for dessert.

Wood fired pizza is also available for lunch and dinner cooked in the custom built oven.

Gilson's brunch service is available for walk-ins with reservations available from midday.

Unfortunately not a great experience. Ordered Lamb Ragu- absolutely tasteless and my other two friends agreed. Seated outside on a tiny table that was on a slope. Couldn’t fit more than 3 plates at once and was awkward to eat. Not one portable heater. Also seen a round hole inside the wall of the womens toilet.. not a good look. Should’ve gone to the Bot

Food, ambiance was great, service not the best this visit. Our guests ordered a dirty martini and it tasted of only vermouth so they asked for a new one, which sadly was just as bad. Perhaps the bartender was new?

Entrees were ok. Oysters I didn’t think were very fresh and the mignonette sauce the onion was mushy. Mains - all pastas lacked salt and flavour. Very over priced for the quality

Amazing service!!! The food was amazing and came out in great timing. My sister and I enjoyed the experience. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu

We were a large unruly family group meeting for coffee and/or brunch. Gilson was fabulous particularly their patience and excellent service. Thank you very much

I had booked a table. When I arrived they didn’t have a table for us so needed to separate us onto 2 round tables next to each other There was no apology and no real engagement from the staff I get it could be hard to find great people to serve but given it’s a service industry I was surprised at the disconnect between the staff and customers
