Party of 6 on a Friday. Good service, great location, a venue to see and be seen at, great wine (Justin cab). This is where the good part ends. The food was very average and low value for the price at the end. No bread service, no filtered water (Chicago chlorinated tap or super expensive bottled water). My grass fed ribeye was just ok, deserts were very average. Steaks alone did not come with any side options. Unless you really want to be at that location, consider other options not too far, like Mastro's, Rosebud, or even Gibsons on Rush Street would be better.

We do offer our Daily baked Focaccia Bread Service on our menu for $11.00 it feeds up to 6pp. Apologies if you did not see that or were not directed to it. Gibsons Italia runs water through custom filters on all floors if you prefer tap you can be assured it is filtered. Bottled-Still or Sparkling is an option as well at $6.50 lg/$4 sm. I made a last minute reservation for lunch here. When I arrived, the restaurant was practically empty. Ugo quickly took my order of focaccia and meatballs. Both were delectable. I also enjoyed the cosmopolitan and the melon spritz, with vodka of course. Special thanks to Ugo for his willingness to allow me to add vodka to a nonalcoholic house beverage. Finally, I had the cacio e pepe. In all, it was a wonderful meal. By the time I finished everything, the restaunt was full of energy from other diners. I’ll return here with my husband to enjoy the patio.

Go to Gibson's Italia for the ambience. Welcoming staff and impeccable service. We ordered appetizers, steaks, fish and dessert. 3 stars for the appetizers 5 for the steaks the fish tasted good but not the best quality i have had...the inside was too noisy we sat out on the patio which was quiet and lovely. Would recommend for special occasions.

We were outside in the patio and had an amazing array of feed and drinks. My guests were from out of the country and raved about the food and the view. Thank you!

We had an excellent time celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Our server was fantastic (even comped us 3 desserts and a bread service), food was delicious and the setting can’t be beat. We took photos on their patio overlooking the river before we ate and the views are perfect. Overall highly recommend for a special occasion.

The service was excellent. The vibe was awesome. But the steaks... not so great. They were burnt and the char on them was far too much. Honestly, they tasted bad. Wouldn't recommend it.

We were so well looked after! We loved our food. We had filet mignon, Chilean sea bass and chicken parmigiana as well as sides and baked Alaska. Great view and ambience too!

On our quest to dine at the top 100 Steakhouses in the world, Gibson’s did not disappoint. Upon arrival we were greeted by Valet and smiling, friendly hostesses. Our table was ready and we proceeded to a great two top with views of the river and skyscrapers. Gibson’s has great energy. The dining room was full and the friendly staff was engaging and courteous. Our server, Billy, was knowledgeable, friendly, and authentic. Despite the formal white tux coats, the staff isn’t stuffy or pretentious. Dinner started with oysters of the day. Served as they should be with the proper accompaniments. Focaccia was great. Lightly oiled finished with salt. Highlight was the incredible Prime Angus Chicago cut and Australian Ribeye. Both perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sommelier assisted with a great Red Wine. Dessert was a Baked Alaska and Tiramisu. Both delicious. Chicago has several amazing Steakhouses, but if you want the best, check out Gibson’s.

The food is outstanding, from the shrimp cocktail to the spicy rigatoni. The Chicago cut with the double baked potato is spectacular, and the atmosphere is that of a Chicago steakhouse, loud but not overly. Our server Scott was great, very knowledgeable and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent food! However if you like anchovies on your Caesar salad they cost extra per piece! Moises was our waiter. He was fantastic!

This was our first experience with Gibson' Italia. My wife loved her lobster. Son really enjoyed his Chicago cut steak, as did I my NY strip. My steak was cooked to perfection. They had the oyster appetizers and relished them. I had the mushrooms which were tastey and unique in their preparation. The tiramisu was different but in a positive way, less cakey and more custardy woth a savory flavor. My Rob Roy was excellent as well. We had a nice view of the Chicago river too. Overall, it was a worthwhile albeit pricey experience, but then it was Mother's Day!

First time coming. Came for my birthday. Wasn’t the greatest experience. Reservation was for 6:30 PM arrived at 6:20 p.m. Was ushered to the bar and asked to wait until table was ready. Did not get seated until 7:25 p.m. Asked three different times why it was taking so long, never got a reason. Was just told to keep waiting. Was extremely frustrating as I was dining with my two elderly parents. And it was becoming quite late for them to eat and then travel back home. Was seated in a booth, which was very nice but located directly under the air conditioner. We basically froze through most of the dinner. We asked if it was possible to get the breeze turned down a bit. Which thankfully they did, but it only lasted for about five minutes and it came right back on. Once seated, requested appetizers. One of which was their focaccia bread. Was immediately told that the bread was sold out for the evening. Was served four pieces of basic toasted bread instead. Was not the ideal replacement. I ended up asking again what was going on with the focaccia bread because technically this was the beginning of dinner service. Waiter said that they were preparing more and would bring us out some once it was baked. We never got it, but saw others get it. Mother’s dish came out extremely salty. She had to return it. The chef tasted it, said that it was way too salty and sent out a fresh bowl which was nice. However, second bowl was almost too salty as well. My dish was the beef pasta, and I actually only ate two pieces of beef towards the very end. Very tasty, but disappointing that way there was so little actual beef. Positive notes, the valet parking experience was very nice…modernized. Waiter was extremely nice. Crab bisque, arancini balls, fries, hot toddy, and pasta were delicious.

Outstanding meal and service! Our waiter provided us with great recommendations to order enough food to share. And made our experience a very memorable one. The beet salad, cacio e Pepe and Tiramisu were our favorite dishes!

Gibsons Italia was absolutely perfect on Friday night! I took my husband here for his birthday (our third time at the restaurant) and we continue to be blown away with our experiences here. The ambiance and views alone are a reason enough to come here. We were seated at a two person spot on the 3rd floor with our chairs perfectly overlooking the Chicago River. It felt very intimate while still giving enough space between tables. The food was magnificent. The oysters, tuna crudo, arancini (cacio e Pepe!!), and focaccia were to die for. Our entrees were even better. You truly can’t beat the rigatoni pasta and Japanese wagu! 10/10 experience. I already have my next reservation lined up to come back!

Great experience, great value for the food if you know how to order right. Good portion sizes, waiter was very attentive, drink prices reasonable for an upper scale restaurant. Gave my love a nice little birthday surprise slice of cake. I’d recommend the spicy rigatoni and the double baked potato.

A wonderful experience from top to bottom. A great room with a view of the Chicago River. Exceptionally attentive service. The food was on point. We had the NY strip, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and cacio e pepe.

Service was exceptional by Cameron who was engaging, knowledgeable and showed an obvious desire to serve. Sea bass was perfectly cooked and sauce was delicious. King crab bisque was also enjoyable.

Great meal, great ambience - though we were seated ~45 minutes late, after being offered a table on the second floor (bar rather than actual restaurant) after 30 minutes of waiting. Definitely glad we waited for the restaurant table on the 3rd floor. Food was fantastic and service was wonderful once we were seated.
