I could see where this once could have been great but has gone down hill and is trying to hang on to the glory days. We had an 8:30 reservation for 4, the lobby was packed and uncomfortable to stand in. We were seated around 8:45, thankfully a booth because the tables were also uncomfortably squished together. Drinks - we had 3 martinis which were fine and a manhattan. Appetizers: a pretty slim appetizer menu. The couple we were with got the tuna which was ok Entrees: they bring a tray of raw meat around to show the samples. While they were wrapped in plastic the tray was wet and dripping on our table. It felt gross. We got the Chicago cut which was nicely marbled and seasoned. The other couple got the strip which was really overly charcoaled. Sides: by far the worst part of the meal. The twice baked potato was burnt and dry. The mash potato's were plain and flavorless. The Brussels were ...fine. I could have had better at a senior center buffet. Between the overly packed and loud ambiance and the poor quality sides, won't be back.

Always a great meal. Pork Chop, WR Ribeye, Sprouts, and a double cooked potato. We look forward to it every year.

We had a wonderful dinner here while on vacation in the city. Our server Cortez Kidd was phenomenal, ask to be in his section if you make a reservation. I will definitely be coming back if ever I am in Chicago again!

The service was fantastic. The food was also top-notch. It was a great experience. We were from out of town, and I had three different people tell me that this was a great steak. They were not wrong. I was in a bit of a meat coma walking back to the train.

Totally lived up to its reputation. Had the Chicago Cut and it did not disappoint. Flavor was incredible. Had a crunchy exterior then the meat melts in your mouth. The asparagus was top notch. Mixed drinks were excellent. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Exactly the way I envisioned it.

Our server provided excellent service. However, the hostess was simply horrible. Mother's Day was extremely busy and, even with appointment, we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. The wait wasn't as nearly as bad as the poor attitude of the hostess. Apparently, the high volume of customers reflected on the quality of the food. My porkcop was dry and bake potatoe somewhat warm, rather than hot. My aunt's prime rib was not prepared as ordered. She requested "medium" but the prime rib was more like rare. Our server happily had a new prime rib prepared. Since we had all finished our meals, the prime rib was packed to go. This was my first visit to Gibsons on Rush St. I usually patronize the Oak Brook location. The food is always magnificent there...never any complaints. Hopefully, my Mother's Day visit was an anomaly rather than the norm.

We had a lovely early lunch at Gibsons for Mother’s Day. The service was impeccable!! The food was great but because of lunch we chose more from the sandwich section of the menu. I don’t know we got the best items on the menu; however, it was done well. I would go back for lunch and definitely want to return for dinner soon.

This is an iconic Chicago steak house for a reason, and it showed. We saw Jim Belushi on our way in and they had a live piano player in the bar. The wine list is very good. Though this place is a bit pricey the waiter we had and the food combined with ambience made it all worthwhile. Had the Chicago cut ribeye medium rare and it was outstanding.

Food and service were excellent. The tables are very jammed together and there isn’t much space, that’s the only thing that could be improved. The food is expensive, but everything was excellent.

Service was excellent, but that’s all I can say I liked about Gibson’s. Prices are average for a steakhouse, portions are hugh, but quality, tastes and temperature of food are lacking. My $67 prime NY Strip was at best lukewarm when It arrives at the table! This leads to a lackluster feeling after a first bite. I really need to be made whole by Gibson’s before I can recommend it to family and friends!

Great traditional, old school steakhouse. Started with the house salad (basic but good) and seared tuna (very good and good portion for the price). Had the 19oz Strip (cooked med-rare to perfection) and salmon (go steak over fish) with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Sprouts were delicious and perfect, mashed were a little dry. Family style size sides. Our server, Lee, was AMAZING and a true professional!! If you can sit in his section I highly recommend it - you will be glad you did.

Service excellence. Our waiter Pooya did a great job. Ordered rare prime rib. Chef took it upon himself to blacken the outsides. Fantastic. A great evening. We live down the block and try to get there every two weeks.

We went to Gibson's for a milestone birthday. The service was top-notch. The food was delicious. The desserts were eye-popping. Everyone had an amazing time from aged 2-70.

Excellent location. The food is always delicious. The service is great. This was my first time at this location. It is a great spot to people watch. You don’t have to be rich or a regular to dine here. They treat everyone like a million bucks!
