I have eaten and Gene and Georgetti multiple times. I must say I was disappointed this visit. I ordered a New York strip, and it was actually tough. It had strings of connective tissue within it. Everyone else at the table was pleased with their meals.

Great food as always. Impeccable service. I treated my husband to a birthday dinner. What’s nice is that you are never rushed. Wonderful experience and the best Negroni I ever had!

The only reason why I did not give a higher star rating for service was as my group came we were greeted by the hostess and the first thing that came out of her mouth was…..can your group be done eating by an hour or hour half? Because another group also wanted that table. I bit my tongue here because of the individuals around me. Your scheduling issues were not my problem! And that left a bad taste in my mouth. I will say your food was great but experience was ruined by that one comment for me and I will rethink where I go for my next steak/Italian dinner. Chicago offers a lot of other chophouse’s or steakhouse. We ended up leaving right after the meal and having deserts and after dinner drinks at one of my favorite places in the Drake, revenue you could have gained.

My wife and I are visiting for a few days, i wanted to take her to a quintessential Chicago steak house, so this was it. We were led straight to our table, offered a cocktail, then ordered our food, the waiter was top tier and very helpful with the wine choice and food selection. We got the baby green salad and split it, amazing. Then shared Tomahawk ribeye and order of their version of creamed spinach. The Presentation was spectacular, and I will say my wife loved it, so if she is happy i'm happy. However, the waiter suggested medium rare my wife wanted medium rare but what we received was somewhere between medium and medium well. And let's face it, for a $100 plus steak well perfection should be the order of the day. We still ate and enjoyed it but it was disappointing. We then squeezed in what i can only say is the best Spumoni ever, but id highly recommend to share, because it's huge! The staff here really make the experience in my mind.

We were a bit dissatisfied with the food quality. Most of the dishes in our 5 person party came out from the kitchen barely warm. Let me add we were one of the first seatings for brunch that day so we were not there at a peak time. They are known for their steaks and we have always had great food here before. But the steaks at the table were some of the worst we’ve had anywhere. The ravioli and mussels, however, were great. Service was very attentive and host Angelo did a great job to make things right for us. Just not sure if we’ll be back given our experience this time.

We went to Gene & Georgetti's for Mother's day brunch- it was lovely and delicious! So, they had a special holiday menu, and a couple of our croissant sandwiches got switched up, so the manager comped the meals and brought us an extra bottle of champagne-- A real class act! Beautiful, historic building and ambience, also! We will be back!

Meat was phenomenal. Cooked and flavored to near perfection. I gave it 5 stars for the meat alone. Other entrees and sides were mediocre. Dessert was good.

Shared the Florentine Steak. It was nothing short of AMAZING!!! Also had one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever tasted.
