Every Wednesday, join us for ‘Steak Night Date Night’ and dig into an epic sharing steak for two with sides, sauces and a bottle of red or white wine chosen by our team of sommeliers from £70 per pair.

A short walk from Waverley station, just off St. Andrew Square, Gaucho Edinburgh is proudly our first Scottish restaurant serving Argentina’s best free-to-roam, grass-fed Aberdeen Angus beef, big Latin flavours alongside a premium wine list.

As you walk through the door of this contemporary, glass building you’ll be welcomed by sophisticated interiors, with textures and tones inspired by Argentina’s forests. Enjoy a drink in our cocktail bar or descend into our dining room for a relaxed working lunch or to entertain in our stunning private wine room. At the weekends, get a dose of social vitamins with our DJ hosted brunches and legendary Sundays roasts.

From a classic Chateaubriand, the centre cut of a fillet, to the Gaucho iconic cut Churrasco de Chorizo which is our spiral cut sirloin marinated in garlic, parsley and olive oil gather your partner or a few friends and family for the ultimate Gaucho dining feast. Churrasco de Chorizo 500g + 2 sides + 2 sauces for £70 Tira de Ancho 600g + 2 sides + 2 sauces for £80 Chateaubriand 450g + 2 sides + 2 sauces for £90 A steak must be ordered between two people and cannot be split between three. Food was dry and tasteless. Server seemed uninterested in serving our table or our enjoyment of the experience. Had to ask for a forgotten side dish. For the value of high end dining, it was very low end. Would.not recommend at all.

Booked in for dinner after a show at the playhouse Had an amazing experience lovely atmosphere! Fantastic staff who were so friendly & attentive. Dinner itself was incredible. Great selection of wine too. Couldn’t fault our experience-thank you again

It was a days visit to Edinburgh for our anniversary. We have been to Gauchos in the past, not the one in Edinburgh so decided to give it a go with no other expectations except to have a good steak. Turned out to be a brilliant and wonderful experience thanks to Wiola the lady who looked after us. We will give the service we had from her 7 stars if we could. Thank you so much Wiola!. You are a gem and an asset to the restaurant!. We will be back!.x

The menu doesn't have too many choices. As far as I know, any steakhouse should offer a Caesar salad, but they only have one salad. The gratuity is included in the bill at 12.5%, which is quite high. We split £30, and I poured my own wine. They should work more on the menu.

Table booked for 2045, didn’t get to sit until 2130. It was 2230 before we got food. Tbf, restaurant gave some freebies to make up which was appreciated But then when food came it was very poor - nothing like other Gaucho’s we’ve been to in other cities. The wagyu burger was a complete joke never had a worse burger in my life and they wanted £27.50. Laughable

Was here 2 weeks ago with my mum , this time with my son , and I will definitely be back again !!! Staff very friendly and helpful and the fillet steak is the best I’ve had , top marks all round

Amazing food and lovely service. Would definitely go back. My partner had a Sirloin steak and said it was perfect. Great choice of sides. I had mushroom tagliatelle, which was lovely. Only complaint would be the 12.5% gratuity that was added to the bill. As a table of 2, it was rather unexpected to have this added to our bill. We were intending to give a reasonable tip anyway but we didn't appreciate it not being our choice. Didn't seem right to have this as a standard addition to our bill.

To have this much sinew through a steak is a worry,is it the quality of beef or the chef not checking,this is a treat for us to come here,our 3rd time,but will never come back.

Asked for steaks medium rare but they were very undercooked, almost raw in places. Macaroni cheese was flavourless and side orders were messed up repeatedly; received one side dish separately before starters, then we were given the wrong sides when mains arrived. All in all, very disappointing given the high price point and way below the standards of other similarly priced steakhouses.

Lovely ambiance of per-theatre diners - our server was most attentive - the steaks and sides were delicious and we even managed to squeeze in dessert. Good choice of cocktails and wines available and the recommend white was well received!

This is our second visit and didn't disappoint. The service,from welcoming us, taken to table to be seated & then our waitress was outstanding. Felt like a personal service, our waitress was on hand to assist with anything. Food was so fresh & the taste was delicious. My Panna cotta was the best yet. Thankyou Gaucho

Beautiful ambiance and setting. Food fantastic as were all the staff who attended our table. My wife had a 'choking incident' (nothing to do with food) and the staff were unbelievable with her. It was a scary moment, but all the staff were brilliant and the incident was dealt with quickly and effectively. We can't thank the staff enough for being so kind, courteous and approachable.

Lovely experience for Valentine’s Day early dinner! Our waitress Monica was attentive and answered all my questions! Very friendly and recommended our dessert which was stunning! Steaks were perfect, I enjoyed my side of creamy mash…I will say I don’t think the quality of the sides matched the steaks and the restaurant it’s self, but they were still good!

Loved our valentines dinner at Gaucho. Food tasted amazing, and service was great. Our service was really knowledgeable and gave great recommendations on food, cooking times and quality as well as the background/info of the meat. We were also pleasantly surprised we could bring our dog with us so overall a great experience.

Had an issue with a promotion that we were offered and the way the General Manager handled the situation was absolutely terrible. A very rude, arrogant and disrespectful person who should never be customer facing. Won’t be returning.

This was the third time we’d been and most definitely the best in terms of service, food and overall experience. My rump steak and firecracker sauce was a great combination and the desserts (and dessert cocktails!) complimented it well. Will definitely be back.

First time in gaucho and have already booked again , excellent service and the fillet steak was the best I’ve had , portions were a very good size , no rush with the food and top marks to all staff

A most enjoyable visit to Gaucho. Food was excellent. The service from Monica was also excellent. One or two gestures recognising my wife’s birthday was much appreciated and totally unexpected.

Celebrated a 60th birthday here, had a fabulous night. The staff were superb, the interior was fabulous and the food was delicious! Wonderfully relaxed evening, highly recommend.
