The Garrison House, in the heart of Brookline Village, blends innovative American cuisine with a lively and social bar focusing on modern craft beer and cocktails. It features the area's only mug club, with members' personalized mugs hanging prominently behind the historic bar. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our meals and a a Mule drink that was delicious but not very strong on the alcohol. Our dessert, the tiiramsu, was spectacular. What we ordered was Mac and cheese, lamb gyro wrap with French fries.

I love the big round table by the windows for bigger crowds . We were able to catch up with out of town friends and their kids. The staff were so, so nice and happy to help our friends to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Amazing experience! Great food and drink menu.

Had a fabulous St. Paddy’s day weekend brunch here! The service was incredible, very kind staff, very personable and helpful. There were a lot of families dining with little children, which makes sense before a holiday, and overall i think a more kid-friendly venue, so overall busy. Food was delicious and hot!

We had a great time listening to live music downstairs at the Social Club. Up and coming R&B performer Andrew Sue Wing and his band mates were a treat to hear. Good food and drinks, as well. We’ll be back.

This is a great place to go with a crowd. Lots of variety on the menu and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and attentive. They did not have a record of our reservation for 8 people, even though I received multiple confirmations. Luckily it was not an issue as the restaurant wasn't crowded due to snowy weather. Drinks were great. Lighting was definitely very dim, almost too dim for my old eyes to read the menu! This was definitely a hike for our son and his friends, who all go to BU, but the walk didn't seem to bother them, and usually the green line will take you nearby (we didn't know it would be closed when we made the reservation). Food was okay, I found the fried chicken sandwich to be enormous (the chicken filet was way bigger than the bun) and the coating to be too thick and crispy for my taste. The Brussel sprouts side was delicious and we liked that they had a variety of sides to choose from that were on the healthier side.

First time going here. Wonderful experience. Staff was incredibly friendly. Drinks and food were delicious. It was nice because I noticed that every table was having wonderful conversation … supports the atmosphere of “the” neighborhood restaurant for friends to go to. There were also parents with kids. We will definitely be back next time we visit our daughter. One of my new favorite places.

Cool pub in Brookline with an authentic pub feel. Our party of 4 had brunch on a Saturday. Place was quiet at 11am and slowly filled up with families and some couples. The salmon eggs Benedict and short rib hash were excellent. Service was very friendly. Amanda was attentive and checked with us several times for coffee. We'd like to return for dinner sometime. The menu and beer list look great. We're fans of craft beer, and found the tap list very impressive with Hill Farmstead, Fiddlehead, Singlecut, and many other great craft beers on tap. We'll be back.

First time (and last) at this restaurant - chose it because of location and good reviews. No problems with the pub atmosphere and our server was pleasant and efficient. The food, however, left much to be desired. We ordered a gyro sandwich, a pizza and some chicken wings. The sandwich was mostly lettuce and tasteless. The pizza seemed like it came in a box from the freezer. The chicken wings were overcooked and dry. Couldn't believe that this place got good reviews! Haven't had a restaurant meal this bad in quite a while!

Room is comfortable...they agreed to move us to a booth. Cocktails were good. My friend ordered mac n cheese...she liked it. When I tasted it, I thought it tasted like macaroni with sour cream... I hate sour cream. The turkey sandwich was really good. Had the brussels sprouts as a side, fantastic! Pasta with braised green was good, but I kept biting into a pasta shell that tasted sour (old). Ate about half of it and gave up. The tiramisu was delicious! Coffee was fresh and good. Would try them again. Free music downstairs some nights!

Garrison House has a lot going for it. It has the perfect location, right ambiance, and the staff was fantastic. Unfortunately, none of these things can offset the poor quality of the food. We ordered a burger cooked medium, it came out practically still alive. We also ordered Mac and Cheese that had no flavor at all. Given the poor quality of the food, we have to leave a negative review. But again do want to compliment the staff for their kind and efficient service.

My sister-in-law and I had an absolute wonderful brunch there this past Saturday. We ordered the donut holes which was perfectly apple flavored. The mimosa flights were delightful. The breakfast poutine was a meal in itself!! Staff was very friendly and attentive, gave suggestions for our meals. Wonderful interaction. Would absolutely go again and again!

The food was fair at best. The fried fish sandwich was soggy and the burger dry. The Thai chicken wings were the best part of the meal. The wait staff was nice but the service was slow. It took 15 minutes to get a beer. Probably would not go back.

Service was great. We were a party of 8 and ordered various dishes and everyone was happy with their food. Zucchini fries and pretzels that we all shared were delicious. They were also very kid-friendly. Great neighborhood spot.

The restaurant was empty, yet there were long delays in our service. Hamburger ordered to be cooked well, yet was med rare. Desserts were not great - cookie dough was mostly caramel, and the crust on the cheese cake was grainy. The drinks were great - once they arrived!

Great lunch! Pretty extensive menu. Unusual Cobb salad but delicious. Topped ours with salmon—excellent! Noisy diners adjacent to our table but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Would definitely recommend & will go back if I’m in Brookline village again!

I visited Garrison specifically to hear a friend who played guitar at the bar for two hours on a saturday night. The bar at Garrison House had a relaxed feeling. While there was quiet conversation going on, we could still enjoy my friend's guitar playing. Our server was pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my steak and frites. I will happily return.

Garrison House is great! Brunch is so delicious and service was amazing. We got the donut holes, breakfast tacos, and the biscuits and gravy, all of which were super tasty. Also tried their Bloody Mary and was very impressed. 5 stars for sure!

The staff seemed unprepared for a busy Mother's Day Brunch and were visibly overwhelmed, although they were all working very hard. The restaurant was full and thus noisy, and the music was still playing very loudly. The food was average.
