stablished in 1998, shadowfax is located just 30 minutes from melbourne. they are dedicated to creating high quality handcrafted wines. the werribee park vineyards are particularly suited to southern french varietials, hence the growing of roussanne, a white grape variety originally grown in the rhone wine region of france pale straw in colour w/ a green olive hue. on the nose white blossom & ripe stone fruit. the palate exhibits orange fruits & marzipan. the gravelly terroir gives this wine excellent minerality with the added delight of a hint of ginger spice on the finish. this roussanne is testament to the shadowfax philosophy of good fruit, minimal intervention & a love for wine. enjoy w/our sri lankan fish & king prawn curry.

The food was excellent, and service very good. I marked the "ambience" down a bit because the noise level was such that it was difficult to have a conversation. I thought I could see noise attenuation panels in the ceiling, and the noise was not as severe as in some other restaurants, but it was still a problem.

We love Garfish Crows Nest and go there regularly. The food is consistently very good. The oysters come from a great supplier and the menu changes often enough to keep things interesting. Even though it's next to a little bit of traffic, the environment they have created even on the footpath is gorgeous. We always feel very relaxed when we are there. Excellent cocktails too. And, in a time when even the hatted restaurants struggle with staffing, this restaurant hires and holds on to some of the best. Much better staff than a lot of the hatted places. Well done team.

we were very disappointed with the food served. I had the fish curry which was sadly lacking in fish and curry flavour. My partner had fish which was not up to the standard we experienced last time we were there. All in all quite disappointing.

The menu at Garfish is varied with lots of choices. Our lunch was delicious:- scallops were plump and tasty, barramundi with salad was great and a sensational dessert to finish. The service was excellent. Easy council parking nearby. Garfish has been at Crows Nest for many years and is always consistently good. It can get noisy on weekends and evenings but is was perfect for a mid week lunch.

The food is delicious. My friend had the famous fish pie - a guaranteed winner. I had the perfectly cooked seared scallops and a beetroot salad. Wonderful. Equally terrific was the poached pear crumble. Finally, we were each served a glass of wine perfectly paired with our meals. The waiting staff are outstanding; knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. A wonderful evening

We ordered the seafood platter to splurge out for birthday cerebration. It does live up to the expectation. The staff were very friendly and professional. Happy to come back and try other dishes

The food was outstanding as was the service. Generous portions and a reasonable wine list. Very happy to cut up a birthday cake and decorate it plus added ice cream for a minimum amount. We will definitely return for our next celebration
