Treat Mom to a delightful Mother's Day Tea on the terrace of The Restaurant at the Getty, offering a selection of teas and delicious sweet and savory bites against a backdrop of breathtaking views. Join us from Tuesday, May 7th, to Sunday, May 12th, between 2pm and 3pm* for a memorable celebration with Mom and take home a complimentary booklet of the recipes from the menu crafted for you to enjoy at home.

The price for Mother’s Day Tea is $60 for adults and $50 for children.

Mother’s Day Tea Time reservations are limited to XX minutes. Admission to the Getty Center now requires a free timed-entry reservation for each person in your party over the age of two. Reserve your entry time using the special access link below.

The food (sandwiches) took forever to get to us. Our server (Doug) was so great that the delays was forgivable. But man it was loooooooong!

We had a lovely afternoon tea celebrating my mom's birthday. Our servers (I believe one was Andre) were the perfect amount of attentive and accommodating, and they went above and beyond to make Mom feel celebrated for her day. We liked the uniqueness of this tea service and thought the food was delicious. Our service was done inside, but being separated from the regular restaurant patrons was nice. I'm so happy to have finally booked a reservation here!

Enjoyed tea very much $55 pp $25 parking my reservation was for 3p I arrived at 3 to park and found that after 3p parking is $15. There were 5 other tables seated, place is large with beautiful views of the museum, city and hills. My favorite sandwich was the roast beef. The scones are on the smaller side, the banana bread is tasty. Great experience.

Beautiful setting and china, not crowded, staff was very nice and cordial. Tea and food tasted good and was prepared with care, but the menu is not typical English high tea, so we missed some of the classics one might expect. Also wished we could have made sandwich choices on the spot, but everything had to be pre-set.

Ambience, location is wonderful, the waiters were great as well, however not very knowledgeable about tea, or serving schedules, we were served scones and tea sandwiches about 10 minutes before the tea was served, once the tea arrived it was so overwhelmingly over brewed that it was undrinkable, they added too much loose leaf and brewed it for too long, very bitter and adding more water does not make it better. 4 out of the 6 Tea sandwiches were a miss, salami is charcuterie meat and it doesn’t go well with a sweet jam, broccoli over a tomato paste(marinara sauce) hard to bite, not an elegant sandwich for high tea, cucumber sandwiches were dry, the chicken and the shrimp were quite delicious. Desserts were not house made, these were pulled out of a frozen tray. We followed the menu as we were eating some of the sandwiches and desserts were not as listed, also they have about 8 teas to choose from but they were out of most of them. I found that they should have been more prepared and watch the brewing time on the tea, as we can only get one choice per person. I was highly disappointed on our high tea experience.

The atmosphere has a corporate feel to it. Great for holiday parties or tour groups. Not a cozy spot for traditional Tea. Food presentation was nice, but bread was stale. Tasted like trays were prepared early in day and stored in walkin until ready to serve. Someone creative sandwiches and desserts, but I prefer a few more classics mixed in. Service was attentive and relaxed.

Great experience as always, especially for the value compared to other afternoon tea experiences in the area. The new price needs to be reflected when making the reservation on Open Table. Currently it shows $49/person, but it is actually $55/person.

Very disappointed. Confirmed three times for vegetarian menu….. in writing , by phone … and still they got it wrong Waited over an hour for them to make vegetarian food. Desserts were just okay. Very poor service

We went to The Restaurant at The Getty for afternoon tea, and it was meh. The restaurant is nice, with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. However, the food was not to our taste. The teas were uninspired, the scones were too sweet, the butter was bland, and the sandwiches didn't impress us. One was too sweet and the other had too much radish flavor. The desserts were also a disappointment. Overall, we were unimpressed with the afternoon tea at The Getty. The prices are a bit high for what you get, and we wouldn't go back again.

Great for an afternoon with family and friends. It’s in an outdoor patio with heaters if needed. You can lookout to the ocean while enjoying tea or more, and eating finger foods. I doubt children should be included in your tea time, they would be so board. It’s an adult thing.

Reservations strongly recommended. Other venues offering tea service charge $65-75.00 per person so $49 was a reasonable price. Service was attentive and pleasant. Food was for the most part tasty. Good variety and filling. The Getty Center is open late on Saturdays so this was a great way to break up the day at the Getty: Visit galleries, have Garden Tea, visit more galleries, shop, rest and snack, visit more galleries...

What happened to the quality of the food and service?! The tea was served after the first course and we politely asked the waiter where is our tea? He said they had problems with the hot water.....really? No hot water to make tea? The tea sandwiches looked nice and plating was a nice but the bread was DRY and HARD! It was a totally disappointing tea party. I would never recommend it to anyone! The waiter was polite enough but clearly didn't know what he was doing! He needed to be properly trained by the manager! The dish collectors were excellent and were much more attentive than our waiter! The waiter served our dishes passing the dishes from the far side of table instead of walking to the seated guest and handed the plates to us. Where have manners gone to? The food and service was marginal at best. Do not waste your money going here for Garden Tea!

This was our second time having tea at the Getty Center. It is a unique experience, and you will not walk away feeling hungry. The pastries are decadent. It’s a lovely way to spend your day at the museum.

The wait staff was very attentive. They refilled our tea pots when our tea grew cold. The few sweet breads served before the sandwiches and the dessert following the sandwiches were nice but not exceptional. The sandwiches themselves were very interesting and tasty. They easily and without hesitation swapped out two of the sandwiches for two others due to our diet restrictions. Dining anywhere at the Getty is a treat for the venue alone.

Fabulous experience tea on terrace with great views! Service was excellent. Champagne, Tea and all of the finger sandwiches were delicious! Desserts were so beautiful to look at the presentation but we had to eat them up and they were all delicious. Great for an escape from the city. You feel like you are on vacation! Great for couples, families and friends who want to indulge in the finer things in life!

We very much enjoyed our tea at the Getty. I thought we’d be seated outside because it’s called a garden tea but there is very little outdoor seating there. The service was outstanding and the the food was very good. It was a nice respite right before we hit the traffic on the 405 to head home after a beautiful day at the Getty. I would do it again.

Unusual sandwiches - could have been more open face, outstanding bread basket, desserts could have less with all whipped cream, ie fruit tart not have top cream but fruit and not jam, more caffeine free tea choices, appreciated the rose on the table.

Lovely ambiance, and tea service. The Garden Tea blend was especially delicious. The pastries were yummy too. The mini sandwiches were ok, the open faced fish sandwich with the slaw was my favorite. The roast beef on brioche was our least favorite. Too much bread to beef ratio and no flavor at all. The pastries were all lovely, the best being the mini fruit tart with cream, the least being the matcha Madeline, no matcha flavor. I would recommend the tea at the Getty - however, only if you're planning a visit to the center as well, not as a must experience high tea. The restaurant might even be a better choice.

I didn’t find this tea as anything special. Some of the cups/plates were dirty when we sat down, so we had to ask for replacements. The food itself was OK, nothing special. I prefer the food at the English pub in Santa Monica. I thought we would be seated outside with a nice view, so the ambience inside was just like a regular restaurant. Our server was great though I have to say. I would not repeat this experience though.

I brought my daughters here for afternoon tea. It was great ambience and service. I enjoyed the sandwiches and the tea. The desserts were just ok. We were able to walk the gardens and museum after which made for a perfect afternoon w my girls.
