Garde East at Vineyard Haven Marina is an award-winning beachfront restaurant oasis on Martha’s Vineyard, located in quaint Vineyard Haven, just steps from the town’s ferry terminal.

The restaurant features the Island’s bounty from both sea and land, inspired by refined, classic techniques from French cuisine. The setting at Garde East is truly unique offering food and beverage service in a nautical dining room, outdoor decks and courtyard, or on the property’s private beach overlooking boats in Vineyard Haven Marina.

Garde East is open seven days a week for lunch, afternoon docktails and dinner service. Private events and chartered ferry services are also available.

Enjoyed the 6-ounce and 9-ounce pours of several white wines and the beet-infused gnocchi. The lobster and fish were fresh and prepared with no heavy breading. The tiramisu was light and fluffy - a very large portion (enough to share). We booked an early time and were rewarded with an uncrushed 2-hour view over the Vineyard Haven harbor. We could see ferries loading, but they were no close enough to interfere with quiet conversation or fresh-smelling breezes. Fast, attentive service.

I was disappointed that they did not have any herbal tea and so I asked for some lemon and hot water. They charged me for that! Shocking.

The view at Garde East is spectacular. The food and service complete a perfect dining experience. It's expensive, but comparable to other best restaurants on the Island who can't offer the view.

The food was even better than last year, everyone friendly and accommodating. The bass was superb. We look forward to our future reservations!

This is the second time this summer we have eaten at Garde East. Both times everything wss first-rate. I so enjoued the halibut and bok choy dish that I had it again and recommended it to my friend. The bottle of Vouray was a perfct match. I had asked for my favorite table on the deck. Luckily he weather cooperated. Mina, our waitress from Montenegro was charming and attentive.
