We are proud to share our journey which is Garbatella Osteria Bar. As the first US-based concept from husband-wife duo Saul Plata and his wife Carelma Rodriguez, as well as his partner Antonio and Diana, Garbatella Osteria in Otay Ranch, is the coming together of cultures, of travels, and of a lifetime of experiences. The Italian menu is crafted to reflect the authentic Italian flavors of Antonio’s childhood with recipes he has loved and cooked for decades.

We love Garbatellas! It is our favorite date night spot, the food is amazing, it reminds us so much of Italy, we have never been disappointed. Drinks are great and the costumer service is top notch! We’ve had to wait before, paste what is considered a normal wait time, stone offered free wine and bread, they love their costumers. Such a great place to go, thank you for always taking care of us and serving great food!

My family had a great experience with Garbatella. We went for breakfast and were happy with the menu. The steak and eggs were great but I can also include just about everything from the 'specials' menu. I like that there is a cafe attached to the restaurant with coffee, tea and desserts. The restaurant is very well decorated and the atmosphere is nice. We also thought all the servers were pleasant and available. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Last night was our first time in Garbatella and our experience exceeded our expectations. We loved the ambiance. The live music was very entertaining and we especially our mothers loved it so much as we took them to dinner for Mother’s Day. The food was also very good. The service was great, our server Roxanne was very nice and service was quick. Even the kids loved the experience. We will definitely come back. So happy we have Garbatella here in town so we don’t have to drive downtown for experiences like this.

We had another great visit to Garbatellas! The pace of our meal was perfect and our waitress was very attentive and super friendly. We tried the Salmon for the first time and loved it as well as the Risotto it was paired with!

Food was good but not great. Service was good but not great. Asked the server for a side order but he said he was unsure if it was available. He said he would check and let me know when he brought our food. I never heard another word about it. The drinks, Old Fashioned were ok but made with cheap well drinks and weak. If you trying to cut costs too much you lose the quality and subsequently will lose your customer base.

The service is always a problem at this restaurant. The waiters and busboys are very apologetic for the service each time we are there. However, management doesn’t do anything about it, if this is a continuous problem.

Went during HH with a group of my Gfs and Karlos took care of us. He was very patient and tentative. Will definitely come back.

Utensils smelled Aweful - like dirty kitchen rag and were dirty looking … all it takes is a better dish washer , or better soap and someone to do quality check for water spots- and if any water spots then polish it off & smell utensils please - at first I thought it was the spinach salad & stopped eating it and then realized it was the fork as the smell was stronger when I brought it closer to me … IDK but kitchen cleanliness is at question and I am not returning. Spinach strawberry salad presentation was POOR !!! Next time I suggest mixing the salad w dressing then transfer salad to plate and garnish it with the strawberries and cranberries and everything else that goes on salad for plate to look more appealing vs covering all toppings with spinach and sprinkling cheese to one side of salad. Salad was not even worthy of a picture though I should have taken one but I was so disgusted by the smell of the fork that I Did not think to take a picture of salad. Seafood Linguine was okay not bad And my friend said her lobster ravioli was good. We also ordered a pizza but dough somewhat tasted like dirty kitchen rag—- makes me think that the kitchen counter were this pizza was prepared must of been dirty or maybe it was wiped down w a dirty rag - idk but I am grossed out and disappointed because it was me who suggested this place based on my last visit - quality here seems inconsistent:( . Or waiter was very nice and our pasta was hot .

Restaurant was lovely and the staff were very attentive. The food was good and presented well, but nothing outstanding. I would dine here again, the experience was pleasant.

Most of the food was ok, except the Lasagna. The flavor was fine, but the food was cold. If an Italian Restaurant kitchen can’t make a servable lasagna, then the rating should be fair. I found the whole place underwhelming and over priced.

Pizza Bread was one of the best I have tasted in this area … Octopus was on point in regards to tenderness and flavor… along with the watermelon salad and pistachios dessert !!!

The food was average, the pasta was overcooked and falling apart but the flavor was good. The service was not good at all, the cocktails were excessively strong and overpoured. It was our second time at this establishment, and it'll probably be our last, unfortunately. I'd rather spend the nearly $200 for two people elsewhere.

Anniversary dinner. We were very disappointed. Didn’t acknowledge it was an anniversary, even though we noted it on reservation. Our waiter/waitress hardly acknowledged us during entire dinner. We would not come back.

The overall service was outstanding! The food the waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly, this restaurant is going to be my favorite from now on.

Our waitress initially spoke Spanish to us and we asked for her to speak in English as we do not under the language. She said ok then eventually reverted back to Spanish, she finally got the point when we couldn’t communicate. She was non attentive to us the whole night, she didn’t inform us that ingredients in our pasta were “out” and by the time we got out food we were disappointed to find out. The pizza was soggy and since she did not check in on us so we didn’t get to order any drinks, we had to stop someone else to even get water. Overall will not be going back.

Dined on a Friday night and was very "underwhelmed" . The place looked very disorganized. I was seated by the hostess. I went to use the restroom upon arrival my table was given to someone else. Once my guest and I sat they forgot to bring out bread after repeated requests. The food also lacks identity. The pasta was dipped in sour-tasting green sauce. The music was deafening and no one could hear each other. The waiter kept asking repeatedly if we were done during our dinner because they were short on plates. Overall a very disappointing experience. Hopefully, someone reads this review as I imagine some good people work there.

Very welcoming environment. Food and prices very reasonable. Wine was great. No one rushed us along although there was a wait for tables. Recommend the cheese wheel and hope they can do tableside presentation again in near future.
