Our waitress was excellent but she needed to help with other customers so we had a guy take over at the end. He was snobby and so different to the female waitress. He was dismissive! One of our dishes was fantastic and the other undercooked (blackened shrimp) which really impacted the quality of the food with the shrimp the final dish weshared. When I informed the waitress she apologized but took no steps to do anything else. This also impacted the total experience. Limited white wine choices that were expensive for the quality.

Love Gaido’s! Food was delicious. The server was nice. Tables are spread out so it feels comfortable and not too crowded.

Our family has probably driven past Gaido’s a hundred times and we finally decided we had to eat there. We have a new favorite restaurant—no wonder they’ve been on the island for 114 years!! Everything from the ambiance, the wait staff, the food, etc was amazing! Our server (Alatin—I may be spelling it wrong) was very attentive and had great menu suggestions. My kids even loved it and they’re very picky eaters. We are glad we finally stopped to eat at the restaurant with the giant blue crab on top! We can’t wait to come back again!!

A special birthday dinner had been planned here, as my family had a 60 year tradition of eating at Gaidos on each and every vacation; we especially looked forward to the redfish. Our waiter told us about the chef's special, a $50+ meal, but I ordered the $30+, remembering the basic redfish meal being delectable; it was not. A soggy fried--supposedly "pan sauteed" piece arrived with asparagus not "tender crisp," as one would expect at a high calibre restaurant, but a dark green--nothing I couldn't do at home type with no special seasoning. The other members of my family were "okay" with their seafood, and their vegetables looked prepared ahead of time, ready to scoop out as needed. My wedge salad clearly had bottled blue cheese dressing with Bacon Bits sprinkled all over. The staff was apologetic and I ordered a pecan crusted piece of fish that was better prepared and tastier. My complementary dessert, key lime pie, was a generous piece, shared with the birthday flair one would hope...but, there was just something about the kitchen that wasn't up to the Gaido standards I had long enjoyed, and the prices were not commensurate with the food and presentations this Tuesday night...maybe the top kitchen staff just shows up on the weekends? Anyway, we won't be back!

We were tricked into spending more for our child’s meal than expected by asking if we wanted chicken or shrimp with the pasta. We asked for a side of fruit, but rather than telling us it didn’t come with the meal it was ignored. We wanted a cup of fruit even if it was an extra charge and it was ignored twice. The price of the Red Snapper was ridiculously overpriced for what you got and was not flavorful at all. Overall not impressed with Gaido’s. Decor felt old and stuffy. We will not be returning or recommending Gaido’s to our friends. It’s hard to believe it’s been in business as long as it has.

We had reservations for 7:30pm and arrived about 5 minutes early. We were seated right away and then sat until 7:40 when I went to a floor manager and told her that we have not seen a server and have been seated for more than 10 minutes. It was another 5 minutes before our server greeted us and offered us water. The manager never came by to follow up with us or check to see if we had been taken care of. I worked at Gaido’s 30 years ago as a server and have been bragging to my wife about how excellent the service was. My how things have changed. I was embarrassed for talking Gaido’s up so much to only have a mediocre experience. Will not make the same mistake again.

Overall food was very good. Crab cake outstanding. Gumbo a little overcooked Pecan Crunch outstanding. Golden Tile Chef's Special was a little overcooked, but still very good.

Food was good and very fair prices. Our waiter was very nice, however the food was extremely slow coming out. We arrived at 12:45pm and wasn't able to leave until 2:40 due to the time it took for food to come out.
