Tiny restaurant, with only 1 or 2 servers working their tails off. Food packs an amazing punch of flavor! Will definitely be returning.

I have to start with by saying, If you are looking for ambiance and a scene, this is not the place for you but if you are looking for great food, then you found your spot!! El Fusionista is absolutely one of the best Peruvian restaurants that I have been to in a long time. Their food was outstanding, my wife and I started with a dinner special appetizer Octopus (w/Mashed Yuca), and their Ceviche which were both outstanding that we had to get a second order. For the entree's we went with classic Peruvian dishes, the Lomo Saltado and the Chaufa (Seafood) and they did not disappoint. The only thing that I was not happy with my choice was the dessert, I went with the Rice Pudding with Ice Cream, while it was good, was my least favorite part of dinner, should have listened to our waiter and gone with their signature dessert, the cheese cake but lucky for me I am not a big dessert guy and it did not dissuade me from giving high grades to this restaurant.

Sad to say, had a much different experience than the last time we went. We were very excited to dine with Fusionista again as we are moving out of Montclair and this was one of our faves. Last night felt very different then our past experience, food was very salty and no where near the perfection we had last time, lomo saltado meat was very gristly but the seafood rice dish was delicious. An app we ordered never came, we had to fight to get anyone’s attention for ordering, follow-ups and to clean our dishes both after apps and after eating. Took about 15 mins after eating to get cleared and ask for the check. While the waiter was extremely nice, the service just was not what we expected after last time.

The food was amazing.. So many flavors.. It truly was outstanding.. Servers were so adorable helpful friendly..It was just a perfect dinner and we will be definitely be back soon. A wonderful addition to the Montclair dining scene..And we found street parking !!

Second time going here and it was just as good as the first time!!! The ceviche and croquettes were delicious as well as the chaufa. Love it and will be back.
