I was a little hesitant about my reservation today after reading several reviews about slow service. We were promptly seated and our server came to the table right away. Good signs. We were able to place our order shortly after being seated. That’s when the problem began. It took 40-45 min to get our food and while busy, many tables were beginning to clear. Very cute place, our server was very good (when she had something to serve) and most at our table enjoyed their food. Can’t blame Mother’s Day on the slow food service has been mentioned in several reviews. Hopefully they can get the kitchen together.

Good was very good, lots of choices. Service was slowwww….. 1 waitress, 1 manager sitting with friends and a bored hostess. I had to go ask the hostess for a bill and a box bc the waitress would never come back by or acknowledge us. Table was never bussed. Won’t go back til something improves on the service side

We ate dinner at Fully Belly on Friday evening. This Full Belly Cafe is open for dinner only on Fridays and Saturdays and I highly recommend. Mon.-Sun. Full Belly Cafe serves a delicious brunch from 8-3. On Sun. 8-4. So we returned on Sunday for a very tasty brunch. Menus items are very similar to the dinner menu. The Pink Hippo Eggs are to die for. They bake two fresh eggs French style with a decadent cheesey garlic cream sauce with bacon lardons. The pancakes are fantastic. Choice of Buckwheat Souflee or Red Velvet. They also have delicious Pecan Pie French Toast and so many Egg Bennys to choose from. And of course what would brunch be without great drinks. They have Mimosas and great wine and cocktails to choose from too. Our server was lovely. Very pleasant and fun. What a great place for brunch any day of the week.

I found the food just okay. Fried Chicken was tough, almost impossible to cut or chew. Thought it came with a serving of cream gravy, but guess I was wrong. Whoever heard of fried chicken without gravy. The chicken salad was slimy with too much dressing. How is it chicken salad with the chicken on the side, not mixed in called Chicken salad?The bacon had a good taste, but was not crisp as ordered, but very chewy. The grits were delicious. Also, the corn pudding was excellent. I am a diabetic and felt the menu was not very diabetic friendly. The food was rich and lots of sugar. The French toast sounded delicious, but beside the rich one, you could serve,simple French toast with sugar fee syrup.

Was absolutely terrible experience for my wife’s birthday brunch. We were excited to take family from out of town. We were happy that they were able to get two reservations (10 people total) put together on one table but then it all went downhill. Our poor server was also the only bar tender for the entire restaurant. It’s took 50 minutes for her to be able to bring us waters and another 20 min before we got the drinks that we ordered by going to the bar to get them ourself. She was way over worked at the bar to be able to take a 10 top. It was not her fault! Now when I asked to speak to the manager he started off by blaming the slow service on the fact that we asked to be sat together. He wasn’t very nice about it but did offer us some cinnamon rolls which were tasty and at least helped calm the hungry people at the table. We ended up having to ask the manager to take our order because we had been there over an hour and had only put in orders for the kids at the table. Our server never had time to come back to take our orders because she was slammed with bar orders. The food was ok….. We frequent the 1604 Full Belly and I’ll just say that everyone agreed it was not as good. Maybe it’s because we waited close to 2 hours from when we sat until we got to eat?!? In the end we all wished we had left when we got our water after 50 min of waiting. It ruined the mood for my wife’s birthday brunch with family. I don’t know that we will return as my wife will hold a grudge for a long time and I don’t think she will agree to return here. Props to the awesome bartender though who worked her but off to serve drinks to a whole restaurant on her own, serve people seated at the bar and at least deliver our food to our table. She didn’t deserve to be slammed with a 10 top on a busy Sunday morning.

If you haven’t tried dinner at the new Full Belly Cafe in Olmos Park on McCullough, you should. This was our second time on a Friday evening to enjoy a wonderful meal. As a starter our table of 5 highly opinionated diners shared Brussel Sprouts that were very tasty along with great cocktails. This place has Pei Mussels cooked in a delicious garlic butter and truffle white sauce with incredible focaccia toast. My friend who picked the Mussels for his dinner said the dish is better than the mussels at Cappy’s. The special appetizer was a meal in its self with 4 perfectly fried large shrimp. I added a side of grits that I couldn’t eat because I was too full from the shrimp. I took them home for breakfast. Another friend ordered Chicken Fried Steak and he said it was as good as and maybe better than Mr. Juicy’s famous CFS. The Soon to be Famous Fried Chicken served with fresh green beans and incredible Corn Pudding is a real treat. My brother got desert for dinner, Pecan Pie French Toast. Full Belly is known for their scrumptious breakfast items at the older Full Belly Cafe on 1604 that is not opened for dinner. All our dishes that we ordered were less than $18. The quality and taste of the food is amazing. Our server was amazing. He mixed the cocktails as well as managed all the customers. His back up was the the owner. Put Fully Belly Cafe in Olmos Park on your list of restaurants to try soon. Reservations recommended. We arrived at 5pm. By 6 pm, the restaurant was full.

My friend and I went for breakfast and it was delicious. We both had the pink hippo eggs it was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for any meal! The drinks were very tasty as well!

Newly opened restaurant in Olmos Park has the promise to be a really good spot for brunch, dinner and cocktails. However the service could ruin that. Made a brunch reservation thinking it would be needed. When we got to the half-empty restaurant, it still took over 15 min to seat our group. The hostess was dismissive, barely uttering a word as we walked into the restaurant. Our waiter was kind, probably the only bright spot, aside from the food. Another waitress who brought our food was rude, seemed annoyed and gave our group attitude. We were told they were short-staffed but there’s no excuse for rude behavior towards guests. On the plus, the food and drinks were excellent. A big creative menu seems promising, hopefully the service can come along as well.

After immediate seating, we waited several minutes before getting acknowledged by a server. Once she finally got to our table, everything was great. I had the french eggs and my friends ordered sandwiches. Food was attractively presented and tasted good.

The food and drinks were on point. Every thoroughly enjoyed the drink and dish they ordered. Portions are large and plentiful. I shared my plate with someone and had food to spare. Can't wait to come back and try something else out.

Ate dinner at Full Belly last night with my neighbors. All five of us enjoyed going to a new place. So I took another neighbor there for brunch today. We shared the Pink Hippo Eggs and ordered a side of grits. We had plenty of food. They make an outstanding cup of coffee. We had the best server ever. Her name is Lucy. She is so pleasant and cheerful. We will definitely be back.

This was an excellent time place for Easter brunch. They have a unique menu, and the prices were great for gourmet food. The staff were so polite and professional. The lady who brought our food from the kitchen was very attentive and just a charm. I had a plate called the Pink Hippo Eggs dish and a mimosa.

I can see the potential of this place but boy are they not ready at the service level. No offer of coffee refills, took three requests to get waters and food that took forever came out luke warm at best. Taste was fine but the restaurant wasn’t half full and they had enough staff out front for sure. I’d give it a few months to see if they can figure that out before I’d try this place.

Julisa’s customer service and knowledge of the menu can’t be beat. It’s was great to see Blade running around supporting his staff and working the floor. We highly recommend this place. Look forward to returning for the great atmosphere and ambiance.

Second visit to the new location to try something new (the Pink Hippo eggs...which is accompanied by two slices of SUPER yummy foccacia bread) and to indulge in some old favorites (the decadent pecan pie french toast and of course, the famous yummy brown butter cinnamon roll!). Huge thanks to Connor for his phenomenal service and for his willingness to accomodate a few special requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

Very good food! Will definitely be going back. Service was on the slow side - we had empty water glasses and drinks for longer than we would have liked. But they just opened, so I’m sure it will get better.

March 11 .This may have been the best breakfast place I’ve ever been . Me and my parents went one morning after arriving at San Antonio for something we don’t have at home and we went to full belly cafe. This location was in a very peaceful road and not hard to find at all . Although the menu was long the owner of the restaurant so happened to be there and guided us through every possible option we could select. And his recommendations did not disappoint. Unfortunate I don’t live near this local restaurant but it did made my trip with my parents more memorable. Thank you !

First weekend of service for the new location and Connor handled our group of 8 with friendly, professional, knowledgeable and patient service! Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks! (and I highly recommend their housemade foccacia bread!)

My pulled pork Bennie was completely cold, but tasty. never got a refill on my coffee. Willing to try again since they just opened. Server was very sweet, but very busy.
