Three of us thought food was delicious. I should have known any steak other than a filet would not meet my satisfaction. The flavor was good but I had to cut out a big portion of fat. This was our first time and I think we’d all go back. It’s kind of a hidden gem.

The booth was filthy, we only realized this after we were almost finished with our meal. The back of the booth behind me was splattered with some sort of liquid, I pointed it out to our server who I had to get up to find as she never returned. She came back with a sanitizer spray and rag began wiping it down behind me while I sat there, it was weird and unprofessional. The wine I ordered was off, and the service was plain terrible, we'll never eat here again.

Decided to return to this wonderful restaurant last Saturday, this time to celebrate my birthday. Once again, we were NOT disappointed! We arrived much earlier than our reservation and was seated without hesitation. The vibe was amazing, and the staff was pretty much the same from 2 years ago, which speaks volume. This time, my husband chose the pork shank, and I had the NY steak. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable and always with a smile. Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner!

FANTASTIC! Everything was delicious. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable of the food and gave great recommendations. We went to Brunch, but I am going back for the dinner menu and I live all the way in the East Bay Area 😋😋♥️

We have eaten here several times. Each time seems different. Last night was ups and downs in terms of overall experience. Drinks and servers were great-knoweldgeable and friendly. We had the bruschetta which was small but really tasty and well done. Pork special entree was well liked at the table as was the burger but the halibut on a tasteless sweet potato mash and the chicken confit small and unappetizing and limited flavor were big misses. Desserts were ok. Just a mixed experience overall

Owner is often there and very open and chatting. Service is topnotch. They know their wines and willing to provide guidance. Food is delicious and always seasonal. Highly recommend!!

Food was excellent - our favorites were the beef carpaccio, octopus, chilean seabass, and espresso creme brûlée. Our server (Jack, I think) was engaging and helpful. Plus the blue frog logo is too cool. Definitely will return!

The owner and staff are so friendly and attentive! The ambience is really cool. A jazz motif and very nice bar! The place was full so noise was high. Chilean Sea bass was excellent! Definitely recommend!

Great chef and great server. Both the experimental and traditional food were delicious! The fries can feed 4 - FYI. The muscles were also very generous.

Our meal was great. The service was great and the food was good too, until we got our bill. Our waitress (Elena?) knew from the start we had theater tickets. She even brought our bill ahead of time in case there was a time crunch. This restaurant has a policy of giving a 10% discount for anyone going to see Broadway Sac shows. When we looked at the bill, she had not given us the discount. Our bill was $250+, so we should have been given a $25 discount. Not life changing, but not insignificant. When we questioned Elena about the discount, she confirmed they do give a discount, but did not offer to adjust our bill. Instead she just said, "Maybe we can catch it next time." My husband is not confrontational, so he didn't argue. But I find this to be horrible customer service, and so we will not be returning to the restaurant to "catch it next time."

Once again, frog and Slim delivered. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and on top of the great food and service they went above and beyond. To start with we had each ordered a glass of red wine but as a bonus, our waiter Jack brought us each a glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We began with the bruschetta that had a unique spin on it being served on a marble rye with a variety of vegetables. We followed that with a beet salad for my wife and a standard Caesar salad for me. My wife then had to sea bass that had a wonderful butternut squash sauce and I had the Wagyu ribeye which came with green beans and sunchokes. To finish it off we had an espresso crème brûlée as well as a glass of port. The wine selection here is excellent, including wines by the glass. I highly recommend trying it if you have not.

We enjoyed our first visit from the deliciousness of the shoestring fries to the blueberry dessert and vegetarian lasagna we were hooked. My favorite surprise was the beautiful presentation of the espresso martini!

Had a nice time celebrating daughter’s birthday. Food was delicious and as a diabetic, the chicken confit allowed me to stay within what I was allowed to eat.

Overall good experience and food. Service was great. It did get a little loud around 7 on a Sunday, but that’s not the restaurants fault. They just got busier.

Had an Easter Sunday brunch reservation booked on a recommendation from a friend. I was so pleased with the food but, most surprised by the superb service helpful,energetic,knowledgeable. Even the greeting at the door was great! Biscuits and gravy had just the right kick of spice and didn't feel overly heavy. I like this place a lot and hope they stick around.

This is my 5th time eating at Frog and Slim and I have enjoyed my meal every time. The food, cocktails and service are amazing! I have recommended Frog and Slim to so many people and they have loved it too! This has become my favorite place to dine!

Ambiance was soulful and was reminiscent of a modern jazz club. Our host was Elaina and she was fabulous! We moved tables and as a result we’re supposed to have a different person but, we asked to keep her. We were NOT disappointed. She provided great suggestions and was full of genuine smiles, pizzazz and comic relief making us feel as we’d dined in a professional yet familial like establishment. The food was delicious! We couldn’t get enough of the deviled eggs, clams, Alaskan ora kind salmon, Wagyu burger, braised pork shank, rack of lamb, chicken confit, bread pudding, chocolate truffles and pumpkin crème brûlée. Quality food, service and ambiance = we’ll definitely visit again.

The food was delicious but the octopus plate was small. The andouille sausage was sliced way to thin and almost none on the plate.

Small intimate setting, great place for a date night. I had Ribeye and my wife had the burger, my dinner was delish, her dinner was Amazing!!! That burger is one of the Best Ever! Cooked perfect, seasoned perfect, best burger we’ve had in years!

I wasn't sure about this place but it turned out to be a very pleasant time. Our waiter, Jack, was very helpful and funny. My wife and I had a great time. A little pricey but I felt it was worth it. I recommend this place to people who enjoy a good steak and are not afraid of spending some money.

I ordered lamb ribs, chicken confi, and bread pudding Chicken dish was good and so was the bread pudding. But lamb ribs had mo flavor to them. Would like more flavor. Seats are too upright and tight and you have to lean on the table. There is no way to sit without leaning on table.

We really loved the food (she had the New York Strip and I had the Waygu Burger) and the service was great, but it did feel a tad overpriced, and please keep in mind there is a 3% service charge added to each bill before you calculate your gratuity. The location is good (at 16th & O), but if you're driving downtown and have reservations, give yourself enough time to find parking ... it's a scavenger hunt. Overall, a really good dining experience and we'd go again.

Where should I begin? First, and foremost, the food was some of the best food I have tried in my lifetime. It reminded me of fine dining in Paris in my Army days what seems like a lifetime ago. The Filet melts, while you taste the citrus and perfectly seasoned meat fibers as they dissolved slowly in your mouth! The tuna, lamb, soup, salad, all offered perfection in every savory morsel. If I were to rather this place simply by the food and friendly staff, 5 stars effortlessly….However; both my wife and I walked away feeling as if there was something more.. something missing. This was touted as a Valentine’s Day experience… The mood wasn’t really there and it wasn’t just because it was a rainy night. There were no special decorations. There wasn’t any anything particularly interesting happening in the area or the restaurant. There was no music and this I think is the biggest flaw but that’s just me personally, as I pretty much like to have music for every situation, even with this small issue that wasn’t it. The person who cooked our meals didn’t come and greet us or even ask us how it was there was no wine included not even a soda with the price of the meal, and I wouldn’t be opposed to paying a little bit extra to having the wine included , even when the waitress poured the water, it didn’t feel like any particular occasion rather a typical Tuesday night in a quiet restaurant in a sleepy town. This experience could’ve been so much better and probably would have created a return customer if it were handled a little bit differently , but I believe next year we will be looking at one of the other area restaurants for one of their experiences, but I would still suggest it for anyone looking to try some really really good food.

First time going and was really impressed with everything from the condition of the restaurant, décor, the food and waitstaff. Went for Valentines day which needed a reservation and my date was blown away. We will definitely be back.

Cannot say enough nice things about our experience at Frog and slim. We had a reservation at 5:30 but because the play ran shorter than we expected we arrived early and the restaurant was able to accommodate our early arrival. Good idea to make reservations. Great food (especially the rack of lamb) and ambience.
