We consider ourselves the gluten-free pioneers of NYC and our food is always delicious. Dinner at Friedman's consists of classics like Moms Famous Meatloaf, Pan-Seared Ginger Salmon and Chicken & Waffles. Our first waiter had trouble explaining and understanding some allergies regarding dairy so luckily we were able to get a new waitress and she made our meal enjoyable. Portions were large, service was quick and food was delicious!

The blintzes are truly amazing. My French toast, bacon and dirty chai were all very good. I was less impressed by the latkes (not crispy enough for my taste). Attentive service and overall good quality food. The location is very convenient if you’re staying in the Times Square area. You could probably find a less expensive breakfast elsewhere, but you’d wait - especially if you have a larger group. I liked that we could make reservations for breakfast since we were a group of 5.

Very loud but that was not a surprise. Food was ok. Not great but not bad. Maybe expected a little better for price but it’s NYC so you expect the expense. What was really disappointing was the service. It was 25mins before we even got drinks. Just soda and tea, not liquor. The people who sat next to us came in 10 after us and got their food before we even got our drinks. He server just kept saying they were coming, but the 3 tables around us that came in after all got theirs before us. No apologies, no explanations, just poor service. I would definitely not return.

Friedman’s is a perfect spot to grab a bite before a show. The location is great! The food was fresh and there were lots of choices that weren’t heavy meals. Our group got the avocado toast, matzo ball soup and Asian chicken salad and all were delicious. Highly recommend!

At very busy pre-matinee hour, service was prompt, genial, and attentive. Restaurant very crowded & frenetic between late breakfast/ early lunch crowd because many Tony awards attendees were dining today but staff had it in order. Even got substitutions right.

Way too noisy and the food was bland by comparison to other dining experiences I’ve had at this location. Seriously disappointed. Note: The staff was wonderful—so this is strictly a comment on the food and ambiance….

Very Disappointing. Booked reservation for 5 at least 3 months in advance. Showed up and was told we had to sit at the bar because they were too crowded. My 76 yo mom with physical limitations could barely get up in the high top chair. The noise level was very loud. Due to not sitting at an actual table we sadly missed out on the singing waiters experience imo. Yes we could hear them and occasionally see them but wasn’t the same since none really interacted with us at bar. And it was hard to turn around and see them. Food was mediocre. Had to initially send some of it back due to being undercooked. I will say the bartender, which was our server, did a good job. Would NOT recommend this place.
