“Fresko” meaning “fresh” inspires our creation of seasonal menus made from locally sourced ingredients. Fresko makes natural food from the bounty of Iowa farms whenever possible. The culinary team prepares product from start to finish applying natural time honored techniques with care at every step. This enriches the flavorful and nutritious product we serve and benefits our community. Fresko believes we are what we eat and eating well means living well.

Fresko features a splendid assortment of original cocktails with a deep spirits menu and a beer program with sixteen beers on tap in addition to bottles and cans. Fresko's wine menu focuses on quality selections at a great value to our guests.

Our experience was wonderful. The food was fantastic and the service matched. Ryan was attentive and made my son feel like he was part of the crew with mocktails. Also thank you for having the game on. My son was able to venture over and watch it while the adults had a conversation. Again making this a wonderful experience for us all!

Our food and drinks were very good and reasonably priced. We had reservations and were seated right away, but we had to flag down someone to bring us water and order drinks after waiting for 20 minutes. To be fair, we were there on Mother’s Day, however there wasn’t a big crowd at the time we were there. Our reservations were for 2:15, and our meals were served at 3:10. The waitress & bus staff that we had to flag down seemed fairly miserable.

Probably the 5th time I've been there - great GF options and overall just good quality food! The only disappointment was the cointreau pre-mixed into the espresso martinis and no offer to just *make* one. I understand it was busy but martinis aren't that much more complicated than mixing other drinks 🙃

Dinner for five for a special occasion. Great selection of seafood and steaks. Two vegetarians in our group came away happy. Cocktails and wines were very nice. Our second time here and will come again.

Very attentive staff without being intrusive. Wonderful creative versions of common menu items, with great use of natural ingredients. Love the salad choices, and great that you can get a half version of a salad to accompany an entree.

Perfect date night! We went before the show at the Civic Center. It was the perfect combo of casual and classy. Lots of GF and DF options which was a treat. Food was flavorful and affordable. We got 3 beverages, 2 entrees, and a dessert for $60. Waitstaff is friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. Great experience!

Amazing experience from the time we checked in at the host stand to the end of our wonderful meal. The staff was amazing, food was outstanding in the ambience is perfection. We loved all of the gluten-free options too. We will definitely be back, and Fresko is a 'must' when you are in Des Moines!

We had a great experience! A reservation for 4 unexpectedly turned into 5 but we just pulled up a chair and our server ran with it! A fun time was had by all!! The lava cake for the birthday celebration was a nice touch! And so yummy!

It was delicious! We enjoyed the octopus and the shrimp and ribs tacos. Service was excellent and our table had a lovely view to the street where a race was taking place.

We had a large group and were going to a show at the Temple Theatre. Our server had us in and out in 1 1/2 hour without feeling rushed. She was very responsive and friendly. All 8 of us were very pleased with our meals! Wonderful experience and we will return!

We went to Fresco for my birthday. We told the server it was my birthday. The service was impeccable- nice pace to appetizer coming out, time to finish it before the main course. Then a complimentary molten lava cake with Happy Birthday written on the plate was brought out. High quality food cooked perfectly. You will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely brunch with friends. The mimosas were tasty. The bloody marys were packed with xtras. My omelette was very flavorful (spinach, goat cheese, tomato jam). I declined potatoes, was not offered an alternative. The omelette was warm, but not hot. Pancakes were large, tasty. Could have been warmer (didn’t melt the butter provided). Our friends enjoyed one of the skillets and scrambled eggs w sausage. Love the venue. We always enjoy eating here.

The food was fabulous. However, be aware that their happy hour specials are for the bar area only and not the dinning area— which for a burger happen to be $5-6 more and the beer was $2 more.

I had an amazing experience at Fresko! I made a reservation a few days in advance for myself and 5 of my friends. We were going to celebrate a birthday and Fresko made it special for us and even brought out free birthday deserts for us to share. Very kind staff and amazing food!!

Great food, good service, nice ambiance. We had steaks, walleye, & shrimp--would order them all again. Presentation was done well, especially the cocktails, which maybe looked better than they tasted. Would return!

Food seemed very fresh. One of my friends loved the avocado toast. Another loved her florentine crepe. I had the basic breakfast of scrambled egg, bacon and potato. The butter on the English muffin was great! The poached eggs were perfect. Coffee was a little cool. Service was just ok had to ask for salt and pepper. Ketchup. Straws etc. cute place with fresh ingredients. Would try again.

The food at Fresko is very good as was the service. The seating is a little close in a place that gets pretty loud. It was hard to have a conversation during peak times.

Our dinner at Fresko was very enjoyable! The service was great and the food was delicious, many menu options and the staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating to food allergies and intolerances. The noise level at 6:15 pm was high at first but quieted down by 7:00.

Very good and fresh! I’ve been here before for my birthday and was just as good as the first time. Great food, ambience and service was excellent. Food is very good and clearly made with healthy ingredients.

Our server Felicity was awesome. The food was great. The wine selection is wonderful. Our only critique is that it is very very noisy.

Great service, great vibes. Drinks were top notch, really enjoyed the lavender butterfly. The birthday cake was to die for, SOOOO. GOOD.

Our server , Candice suggested some amazing dishes. She didn't disappoint with her suggestions. Started with mussels which could be an entree itself, fabulous! We enjoyed the crab stuffed walleye and shrimp on the barbie, unbelievable. Great portions and flavor! Finished with molten chocolate cake. Such a perfect evening. Everything was amazing!! Can't wait to try their nightly happy hour items.
