We had a great time and a great waiter, but our food took a really long time to be served to us. (People came in after us, ordered at the same time, received their food, ate it and left before we got our food) I know it was Mother’s Day, but a little something like a free desert would have been nice.

We visited for the first time on Cinco De Mayo. The table we had requested on the outdoor patio was not ready BUT they offered us another table on the upper deck. Our friends were late in arriving so we waited for the table we had originally asked for to be ready and it worked out perfectly! The restaurant was very accommodating for us even though the table was not ready when we arrived. The food and ambience all outstanding. Excellent Margaritas and beautiful surroundings.

Made last minute reservations for a celebration dinner, service was great and the appetizers were delicious. Our server was friendly and made honest recommendations which is always appreciated! The food was good, I wish they had a spicy ceviche all the options available were extremely sweet. Overall I’d go there again for appetizers and drinks.

Truly disappointed in the service. Confirmed in my reservation and upon my arrival of a 50th bday celebration. We waited over 30 mins at the end of our meal for our waitress to bring the festivities. She never did. Didn’t even offer dessert.

Matt, our server was great! He was energetic and had great recommendations for dinner. I had the prime skirt steak and my wife had coconut soup and short rib tacos, all of which were delicious and seasoned so well. We each had the spicy margaritas and they were fantastic! Will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Our reservation at Fresco Cocina was a miscue that turned into a new and wonderful dining experience. A friend thought he had made reservations at a Carlsbad eatery that has Fresco as part of their name. This was our first exposure to South American cuisine and it was fantastic. We enjoyed many new culinary combinations and almost over imbibed the new to us cocktails. Many thanks to our server, Anna D., that guided us through the many menu choices

I had lunch with two of my friends today and we were so amazed by the food. We ordered chips and guacamole to start. Both were very flavorful and plentiful. One of us took the remainder of the guac home. I ordered the Shrimp Aguachiles dish which is supposed to be an appetizer. It was served in an 8 inch bowl filled with jumbo beautifully cooked shrimp with a citrus and other spices broth not spicy, if that's what you're looking for. Another of us ordered a bowl of the Chicken Tortilla soup which was not soupy, but the ingredients pureed for a richer consistency that she raved about. My third friend ordered the Sanchos Burger with grass fed beef. She said it was one of the best burgers she has ever eaten. Our waiter was Caesar and he was attentive without being in our face. We sat inside in a booth and had a wonderful afternoon. We will be back for another lunch and dinner.

We all had a great time… we have a birthday club and we celebrate whoever’s birthday it is with a lunch or dinner..This lunch celebration was perfect…. I really enjoyed the whole fish red snapper. It was cooked to perfection and the lemon lavender cheesecake…OMG.. the CoCo Beach cocktail was very refreshing

Nice spot in downtown Carlsbad. Been here 3 times now. Service is always very good. Food is good but a bit pricey ($22 for 3 fish tacos). One time when we can hear they did provide a very nice dessert for my friend’s birthday. Great place for a nice lunch or date night. Seating available outside.

Service and restaurant was great! Chips and salsa great and delicious. The drinks also great! The 4 star is due to the food I ordered. Caldo de mare was okay. Although the seafood tasted fresh, calling it caldo is deceiving. It’s not a broth like your traditional caldo. Maybe trying to be a bouillabaisse but it’s not even close. The tomato sauce tasted off and more like a catsup consistency. But I will be back to try other items on the menu.

I took a first date here and it could not have gone better. You know a place is good when three different tables were celebrating a birthday. The waiter suggested we split a salad and the Brazilian steak with shrimp and it was just the right amount of food and so delicious. Great margaritas and wine too!

Over priced and SLOW service. Cocktail drinks way over priced and served on wrong respective glass. We got the chips and salsa 27 minutes after we seat and asked for it. The Brazilian steak for $39 was under portion, over cooked, and it smell weird! The Yuka fries were great, not excellent because they were served with ketchup instead of with criolla- red pickled onions. The octopus was good; however, it took forever to get lemon after we asked several times. And the bread pudding was old, super dry, and not warm. Considering that we were there at 5pm, the food seemed rushed. My wife ordered the Tropical Vice nonalcoholic drink and it was super sower, it had to be redone. My Guava mojito was served on a wrong sized glass, too small, too much ice, the mint wasn't muddle, too sower., and $14 over priced. For sure we are not returning to this place.

This restaurant Fresco Cocina has amazingly delicious food from starters to main course, and specialty cocktail drinks are curated to perfection. All the staff made our small dinner event a memorable one. Location is perfect with good parking and great neighboring stores and boutiques. Will definitely be returning.

Very nice in or outside dining. Drink options are vast and taste very well (Una Más and the guava mojito). Service from our waitress was great. Chips and dip weren’t our favorite, but didn’t take away from our experience. We recommend the Brazilian Prime Skirt Steak, very good.

I don’t usually bother to write reviews but this was really an outstanding meal! Perfectly cooked fish. Flavorful and delicious short rib enchiladas and even the complimentary salsa served with chips at the beginning of the meal was excellent, fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!

This restaurant has a very cool vibe. One in our party got tacos and was very happy. The cornbread as an appetizer was good. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were so salty that my tastebuds felt assaulted. The rice was sticky, and had clumps in it. The margarita was good. Would not return.

The food we ate was outstanding and very tasty. Fresh ingredients and delicious seasoning. We just had a very peculiar waiter who was acting very bizarre. From throwing napkins to our table members, splashing drinks and literally serving sliced lemons in a crumpled napkin, which her proceeded to dropping it in front of the person who requested it. Our party felt rushed and uncomfortable. Overall we had a great time and didn't let the service distract us.

Beautiful and elegant decor. Lovely patio dining but a bit noisy by the street. Food is pretty and love the dishes but food is only ok. Service friendly and attentive.

We (3 of us) had the short rib tacos, short rib enchiladas, ceviche, corn bread, and salmon and not a spec of food was left on our plates. Fabulous and we will definitely be back next time we are in Carlsbad. We sat on the covered patio where the noise level was very pleasant.
