Terrible. I did not realize Foreign Cinema is a tourist trap. Shockingly bad food for the price. I felt completely ripped off. 1. Salmon appetizer - average quality smoked salmon on a plate with some herbs on top 2. Bib lettuce salad - very few leaves with almost no dressing or other herbs 3. Chicken & french fries - dry chicken with terrible french fries 4. Flourless chocolate cake - we did not even eat it - awful. I would venture to guess it was not made in house.

The food and the wine selection were as usual superb. The highlights of the evening were the pork chop, the antipasto and the hamachi crudo. Service was thoughtful and professional. I’ve been many times and it continues to excel.

Cute location with great high ceilings in both inside dining and outside dining. All the decor and seating just flowed well. Menu had good variety and pricing. Food was delicious!

The oysters were just okay not great. We had two difficult kinds. I also ordered a lobster fish potato terrine which was minuscule and tasted very bland and not a good value for the price. The service was impeccable and we were happy with the wine but that’s it. Not a very good Mother’s Day present.

We came for the Mother's Day brunch, and Foreign Cinema did not disappoint!!! The outside patio seating and overall ambience was lovely and food was out of this world.

First time diners. We did the Mother’s Day brunch. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff and service was wonderful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious as were the cocktails. We had a great experience and would love to come back to try lunch or dinner. Highly recommend !! Thanks for a sweet Mother’s Day.

We had a great time. My family and I only went for cocktails and dessert. The cocktails were delicious and the food quality was great. A little more on the more expensive side and our only issue was that the tables inside are sort of close to each other. So it was hard to go between tables.

Girls brunch! Unfortunately, the egg dishes were lacking flavor. The Croque Madam was delicious. If you are having a meet-up with friends and plan to catch up, the noise level outside is very high and makes it hard to carry on a conversation. It took a long time to place our order, but once it was placed, the food came very fast.

Delicious but small portions for the price. Worth a splurge every now and then. The cake for example is a VERY small slice for 14$. So I’d skip dessert and get it from elsewhere when you leave dinner

Mimi, our sever, was incredible. A lovely and rare warm San Francisco night made this night a dream with being outside and the ambiance. Our 8 year old loves the pre fix children’s menu and it was so reasonably priced.

Gorgeous Art Deco theatre. Booking was a bit confusing because their website didn’t say which movies were for dinner reservations or standard movie tickets so we ended up missing our dinner screening by mistake. But the movie we saw was good and ordering during the show was a pleasant way to enjoy our snacks and drinks while never having to leave our seats. Ambiance was lovely. Would definitely go again and try to make a proper dinner plan.

We were impressed with the service, which was very good throughout the meal. Food was good, but the menu could be limiting for some people, particularly based on some of the ingredients included in each dish.

The service was wonderful. The food was so good, it will be on my mind for a long time. The drinks were stiff and delicious as well. We can’t wait to go back! Overall, it was a magical experience.

Haven’t been to foreign cinema in 7 or 8 years. Seems like nothing has changed (in a good way). Food was excellent. Service solid and they play Jurassic park. Fu*k yea, let’s go!

Great service from friendly staff, nice ambiance, and very flavorful dishes. The only issue we had were the portion sizes. After dinner we were still a bit hungry.

Food was delayed, there was a date label floating around in the bottom of my drink. I find the quality and value of Foreign Cinema deteriorating rapidly. Long time guest, not sure if I’ll be back.

We loved our dinner. Both our appetizers (asparagus soup and mole salad) and the both main courses were extraordinarily good. Perfectly prepared. Creative food combined flavors. I got the curry sesame fried chicken, and it was the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The hummus sauce and honeyed baby carrots brought it to another level. Equally fabulous was my husband's pork chop, perhaps the juiciest pork chop on the planet, with a kale side that had the zingiest flavor combo, just knocked us out. Superb glass of Burgundy. Lovely and knowledgable French female server. The only slight negative was the fruit tart for desert that didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. As my husband said, these people know what they are doing, as the place was packed on a Saturday but there were no service stumbles. I also heard my neighbors on both sides raving about their dishes, so there is consistent excellence. Not cheap but worth every penny.
