Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Scrumptious food! We each had a different pasta--all wonderful. Delicious cocktails. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Shout out to the restaurant for accommodating our changing numbers so kindly--we had reserved for a party of 10 and then had to decrease to 8 and then to 4 at the last minute. They couldn't have been nicer about it. Charming setting. We will return.

Yet another perfect meal at Forcella, which has become our favorites in the North End! It was a gorgeous Spring evening, and we had a lovely window table overlooking North Square (there's also an amazing patio which is great for al fresco dining). The food and service were amazing as always. Our server was very helpful in selecting just the right wine for my friend, and my cocktails were delicious. Both of us ordered the salmon (one of my favorite dishes there), which was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our Caesar salad and meatball apps were also fabulous. Thank you for another wonderful experience; we will be back again soon!

We had an amazing early dinner. Our server was so friendly and kind and helpful with an amazing wine recommendation. The ambiance was cozy and we loved the small kitchen where we could tell everything was made with so much intention. We got the desert salad and Buratta as appetizers which were some of the best especially the tomato jam on the Buratta and the light and umami dressing of the salad. I had the salmon for my entree which was incredible and my family’s pastas were all delicious. This is a hidden gem in the north end and we decided it was our favorite restaurant! Thank you so much

Absolutely phenomenal. Service- outstanding. Ambiance- excellent. Food? CRIMINALLY good. Probably the best Bolognese I’ve had in my LIFE. Excellent wine list. I wish I didn’t live on the opposite coast and could dine here weekly.

I had no idea how small Forcella is! It was so quaint. I love a surprise! The service was excellent, our server was very conscientious of the fact that I like to take time between courses. They do not serve dessert so he gave recommendations to nearby places. The food was delicious!

From the minute my date and I were greeted at the door, I felt that my expectations were met. The gentleman working the host stand was so engaging and polite and really kickstarted an awesome experience at Forcella. I wish I remembered the server’s name that waited our table because he was also excellent. Fantastic wine list, incredible meal, and in a perfect, intimate setting. Out of the hundreds of Italian spots in the North End, Forcella absolutely stands out as a front-runner. I know I said it a bunch while I was in there, but thank you so much to the entire staff for the stellar experience

Awesome. Again. Brought family back after an initial visit last year - high level impressed again. Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service. Cannot go wrong -- actually, Forcella is VERY VERY right!

Our server was excellent and the food was great. The hostess, however, was surprisingly and extremely rude. She mocked us for not understanding the process (though we'd never been at the restaurant before). It very much made the evening distasteful from the start. In the countless times I've been to a restaurant in my life, she was by far the rudest host I've encountered. Unfortunately, I think I'm unlikely to return given this, despite the excellent food and service after we were seated.

Tried a new spot for us. Busy Friday night. Started with Caesar Salad and Meatballs. They were ok. Wouldn’t start with them again. Cacio de Pepe and Cabonara for dinner. Both very good. Cabonara wasn’t traditional but tasty. Great bread. Very nice wait staff!
