Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

    I’m a little afraid writing this review. Why? Because this pace is a hidden gem. Shannon, Fia, Lucia, Sara and Anthony are only a few reasons why this place is so special. That’s the service. The food?! Amazing!!!

    The loveliest of staff who made our graduation dinner spectacular! Highly recommend sitting outside on the patio as well as ordering the Creamy Truffled Polenta and Rigatoni alle Melenzane.

    Best outdoor patio setting in the North End, by far. Very good service. Food is consistent if not always perfect, drinks are good. Overall the place is pricey but the ambiance and outdoor setting make it a place we have and will return to often.

    We sat outside in the patio for a semi private experience. The chicken parm is the chicken parm to end all chicken parms.

    Scrumptious food! We each had a different pasta--all wonderful. Delicious cocktails. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Shout out to the restaurant for accommodating our changing numbers so kindly--we had reserved for a party of 10 and then had to decrease to 8 and then to 4 at the last minute. They couldn't have been nicer about it. Charming setting. We will return.

    Yet another perfect meal at Forcella, which has become our favorites in the North End! It was a gorgeous Spring evening, and we had a lovely window table overlooking North Square (there's also an amazing patio which is great for al fresco dining). The food and service were amazing as always. Our server was very helpful in selecting just the right wine for my friend, and my cocktails were delicious. Both of us ordered the salmon (one of my favorite dishes there), which was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our Caesar salad and meatball apps were also fabulous. Thank you for another wonderful experience; we will be back again soon!
