Fonda Nashville is a neighborhood restaurant serving authentic, elevated Mexican fare driven by
acclaimed Chef and Partner Roberto Santibañez. With the original concept opening in Brooklyn, New
York fifteen years ago, Santibañez, along with local restaurateurs, bring a fresh take on Fonda to the
idyllic 12 South neighborhood at 2316 12th Ave. Santibañez, an award-winning cookbook author,
restaurateur and steward of Mexican cuisine, opened his Nashville “comida” this May 2024.

The menu distinguishes itself with a focus on small, shareable
contemporary plates. These dishes will range from Queso Fundido and Ensalada de Nopales to a
Mexican take on Burrata En Salsa Verde and a desirable Wagyu Con Mole de Avellanas. For the
table, you can order build-your-own taco boards or enchiladas baked homestyle.

Food was way to salty. Plates were small and expensive, but would have been OK if the food was better. Would have been better if the cook didn't use so much salt.

My husbands and i’s meal came out late when our friends were already done with their meal. The tortillas were so cold like out of a package out of the fridge. The melted skillet queso was also cold. I don’t think the food is very fresh is the food comes out cold. The quesadilla was so odd. It’s a tiny opened faced tortilla covered in cheese. I think the restaurant is trying to make their food look trendy when the focus should be on taste and Mexican food standards not open to interpretation. The drinks were good however.

We had the absolute best experience at Fonda on 12th. From the second we walked in the door….the ambience, the staff, the food was over the top delicious….the bean dip is an absolute MUST! Not to mention dessert….might even go back tonight it was that good!!! Highly recommend!!!

While I usually avoid 12th S like the plague, this is worth it. We've been a couple of times and their guac, crab empanadas, esquites con langosta, and carne asada tacos are exceptional. The drinks and service are top notch, too. It's absolutely worth the hype!

Authentic Mexican food. Nothing covered in white cheese and beans. So fresh and absolutely delicious.

As locals living just one block from Fonda, we have been craving for a great Mexican restaurant within walking distance for many years. Fonda certainly did not disappoint. Great location, great staff and very creative spin on fine Mexican cuisine. We wish this recently opened gem great success in our neighborhood.

It was a wonderful experience and the weight staff was superior. It was so horribly noisy that it was very, very difficult to even talk to the person I was sitting next to at dinner. I loved every aspect of the experience except the noise. Please consider putting noise softening devices, so one can engage in conversation with your other customers sitting at the same table.

We are brand new and are just learning some of these things. We do have the sun room which is quieter but we are also going to address the volume in the main dining room.
