The food was delicious as usual, love the small outdoor seating. My favorite is always the pescado tinkixic. Quality of the food and service very well.

There was a group that was so drunk and ridiculously loud. Screaming and carrying on in such a ridiculous manner that it really took the experience down a notch. We mentioned it once to the waiter and just got dismissed. The staff didn’t seem to care… or maybe that’s just standard there?

Noise level is not what I would call "energetic". Plain & simply, it was deafening. Ashame because the food was quite good -- enchiladas with mole sauce were excellent. Also enjoyed the margaritas with mezcal in lieu of tequila. The guacamole for 2 and the ceviche were also good, as were the chips. The coffee-flavored flan was a nice dessert.

Do order -spicy blood orange margarita -medium guac -birria tacos (ask for additional tortillas) Don't sit at the service bar if you're wearing a shirt you like. It's a bit of a splash zone and I'm still recovering from hibiscus syrup on a white shirt.

Ended up here for a last minute reservation for Cinco de Mayo and so glad we did! Delicious food! Tasty margaritas and the guacamole was fresh and chunky.

Great spot for a group of 7. Service was friendly and well timed. Got guacamole and chips for the table and it was excellent! The classic margaritas were just right for the meal. Many entree choices and between us we had 6 different dishes that we all liked- enchiladas, carnitas, birria, camarones, bistecca and flautas.

Honestly, we had a great time at Fonda. Did an early meal before a show. Loved the high booth and it was very chill vibes inside. Our waiter could not have been sweeter or more helpful with the menu. Had the Frozen Paloma and it was way better than others I had a places like Rosa. The meal was fresh and perfect portions. He even brought us birthday shots of tequila! So lovely! Will definitely go back.

Food was amazing! And I’m Mexican born and raises, I know my food. Ambiance, service and value was all top notch. Can’t recommend it enough! The only reason I’m not always here is because their Tribeca location is closer to me and they also have amazing everything!

Perhaps it was an off day as previous visits were great. This time around the shrimp were overdone, the crabcakes and guacamole lacked flavor.

The food is yummy; drinks are just right; the staff is friendly and professional. The fresh guacamole and crispy chips are A+. If you're in the mood for Mexican food in NYC, definitely try Fonda.

I've been to two Fonda restaurants - Park Slope and Chelsea. This review is for Chelsea which is slightly less noisy (still very noisy) during dinner rush than Park Slope. Both restaurants are packed tightly but the food is delicious and the wait staff never ignores you. Not for the hearing impaired or for someone who likes to fling their arms around when they talk. Otherwise, I'll be coming again because the menu is that good.

Great food off the specials and tasty drinks. We like the pollo norteno and queso fundido. Noise level is little high (you can hear tables very close to you) and last night there was delay in getting us plates for our pollo norteno. Overall recommend highly.

Great cocktails, esp the blood orange margarita! Guacamole was super fresh and delicious, and the enchiladas suizas was a table favorite. The goat milk flan was rich, sweet and the perfect dessert w coffee. Will be coming back—- our friends also tried the Tribeca location and said it was really good too

Our dinner was outstanding and their enchiladas are to die for!!! It was so good that I ordered a second main course—despite no longer being hungry—as it was THAT good. The food is freshly made with all natural ingredients. Our server gave us fantastic service and great recommendations. He was very attentive without being overbearing: just perfect. I frequent this restaurant because I have never, ever been disappointed. What a wonderful little gem this place is!

It took 20 minutes to get 2 glasses of wine on the second floor. Food was mediocre. My husband asked for grilled fish tacos and they were not battered but still fried. I had vegetarian empanadas and they were tasteless. Nina

Ensalada Fresca is way too salty and very small for the price. Medium strength guacamole has no heat whatsoever. It’s the same as the mild (we ordered one of each).

The standard Rosalita margarita is outstanding. Guacamole is always fresh plus the smoky salsa that comes with the chips is so good that I asked for more to take home. Love this place!

Wished we lived closer to Fonda! Food was excellent, especially the camarones mosquito - the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the whole dish was seasoned well. Our party of four sat at the front window and I had a view of the pretty main dining area. The constant blast of heat from the ceiling was nice at first but after an hour, it got alittle toasty. Great place to hang out with friends or family!
