Le Fogo de Chão® (prononcé fo-go dèe shoun) est un authentique steakhouse du sud du Brésil. Disappointing in a word. We've eaten at Fogo many times, in Chicago, as well as at locations in NYC, Seattle, and elsewhere. This was the first time in awhile as we haven't been in a city with a location recently and we planned this for our last night as a special treat. The food is normally outstanding. Tonight it was fair at best. Let me give you some specific examples. Picanha. It is unclear how you can make picanha tough (one of the favorite cuts in Brasil) but tonight is was almost inedible. Tough. Stringy. Unpleasant. Sausage. They apparently no longer have linguiça calabresa, yet the host, assuming I am just another gringo, said "oh yes we have it". But one of the Brasilian waiters told us in fact no they don't. The sausage they tried to pass off as linguiça was not, and furthermore, it was burned to a crisp. The feijoada was literally cold. As for service, it was ok. But they lost out on any tip by offering us a "complimentary Brasilian margarita" sample and then wound up charging us $17 for tequila. Overall, this is the last time I will ever eat at a Fogo. The quality has taken a huge nosedive and if I am going to spent nearly $200 without alcohol for two people, there are many traditional steakhouses I could try. This was a huge disappointment for us and largely put a negative spin on our last night in Chicago. Sad to see. In a foodie city like Chicago, if you want a great steak, I can point you in ten different directions that far surpass our Fogo experience.

Our waiter was fantastic. And the food was delicious. Got in 30 minutes early on our 7:15 reservation for 7 people. Only down side is they do not split checks. It was one check per table and they took 4 of our cards. Overall a great time!

The food is always good, including the salad bar . The biggest downside was the wait to be seated . We had a 7:30 reservation but weren’t seated until 8. The reception staff was not good at handling the situation or at keeping us advised.

You smell savory scents of grilled meat. The servers, dressed in traditional gaucho attire, paraded around with skewers of perfectly cooked beef, chicken, and lamb. Each slice was tender and bursting with flavor, seasoned simply yet expertly. The salad bar was a colorful array of fresh vegetables, cheeses, and exotic fruits. It was an all-you-can-eat feast, a celebration of flavors, and an unforgettable culinary adventure.

It was Mother's Day, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated and that was with a reservation and the service was mediocre.

Had 6pm reservations got there 5:50 line around the restaurant didn’t get seats until 6:45 charged 7.00 for water we didn’t ask for, card was flipped to green had to physically call for waiter because they kept passing our table….worst experience I’ve ever had for Mother’s Day

Made a reservation, but still have to wait 45 minutes. Seated at the corner table in the second room, it didn’t catch much attention over 75 minutes. Need better service and time management during holidays.

Even with a reservation, there was a wait. Once seated, it took about 20 minutes for us to even get a plate and silverware. An appetizer was given but didn’t even have little plates to place it on. Service in the beginning was not great.
