Fixins is a full service soul food restaurant that celebrates the history and traditions of African American culture in an inclusive environment that welcomes everyone! We’re located in the historic Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento California in the 40 Acres Cultural complex at the corner of Broadway and 35th Street.

The food was great per usual. The wait wasn't long although we did have a reservation. The music was A++++. We loved the vibe. Our server Austin was great. All of the staff we came into contact with was very accommodating.

Food was great as usual. My chicken was crispy and fell off the bone. Greens were delicious , Mac and cheese on point . Yams yummy cornbread delish. Red beans and rice was alright wish they would have had sausage in it . My husband has oxtails and that was delicious too .

Great food, big portions amazing service:) the stuff is friendly Quick, the music is a little loud for my liking. But everything else is great

Overall food is great, decent pricing considering the economy we’re in. The table had pork chops, chicken n waffles, pretty much all the sides. Ive been a few times the quality is always good, nice scenery, playoff basketball game was on which was nice but music blasting pretty loud same time. Servers were attentive even though it was pretty crowded. Overall great experience would recommend anything on the menu.

The food was so good, as usual. When it came time to pay Aimee our waitress disappeared and did not come back. I had to find someone to help me pay our bill. That was annoying but I still gave a 20% tip because everything else was perfect.

Cat made our dining experience top tier and the food did the rest. Great ambiance, amazing playlist, kind and caring employees and delicious food!

First time here- we enjoyed our meal. Food was really tasty and ambience was great. Our server Eliza was wonderful!

Their reservation system leaves a little to be desired. Make a reservation for (specific time), let's say 2pm. You arrive early to make sure you can make any other choices "inside/outside, bar/regular table, etc... Check in outside and then told to check in inside... Really? 2 check ins for the same appointment but okay. Check in inside and they say, "give us a few minutes, to which we say, "of course" but added that we'd like to sit outside. We go outside to wait and get the call to be seated but they're taking us to an inside table that we didn't want. We reminded them that we'd like to sit outside and they said they needed another 5-10 minutes. "No problem", we say. We go back outside to wait and another 15-20 minutes goes by so we elect to ask if we'd been forgotten and the young lady asked if we could be helped? Clearly we've been forgotton. The not so kind host person looks out side at a table we'd been staring at for 20 minutes and says, "follow me". We do but I can't resist in asking why we ahd to wait for a table we'd been looking at for so long and the snide remark was about table flow. Didn't get a chance to follow that as she was gone just like that. Of course, the waiter was overwhelmed and we were completely understanding but even that got old because everything from ordering water and receiving water was extremely dificult. Appetizers and beverages wan another task in and of itself. We'll go back. Food is amazing and the atmosphere is always amazing. They just need to do better about managing their time...
