We’ve been to Fig and Olive in Chicago, Houston and I have to say that the one in NYC is very disappointing. Service was very nice but the food was not up to the standard. The paella was overcooked and not prepared with saffron but tomato sauce. The tagine was dry and the branzino overcooked. Very disappointing.

I had a delicious burger, which was correctly done, with crispy fries. Wine selection was great. Service was excellent. Convenient midtown location. Nicely decorated.

Kudos to our server who was very personable, energetic, unobtrusive and efficient. Lunch was good; service was excellent and prices are reasonable. However, the noise level was way, way too high. I had to shout to my guest to be heard, even though he was sitting across the table from me.

I loved fig and olive and I have brought family and friends there to eat but this time not that much it’s before a theater dinner so it’s a little noisy and the server and I didn’t hear each other clearly so he thought I don’t speak English and semt a spanish speaking sever to us, which I think was racist, first we’re not latinos I’m asian and it was just if I want bottled, sparkling or tap water. food was not as I expected this time, It’ll probably be a while for me to go back

Absolutely wonderful dinner at Fig and Olive. The vegetarian tacos with chickpea tortillas were out if this world. The branzino was cooked to perfection and had the perfect accompaniments and sauce. And the strawberry tart was delicious. My server Yaya was sensational. I look forward to returning.

Two of our group loved this restaurant and its food, two of us thought it was expensive and the food OK. This is why it is fun to try all sorts of restaurants. We selected this restaurant because of its great Midtown location and its proximity to an off-Broadway theater we go to often (59E59). We plan to go back and try the prix fixe menu which looked very good and a good value.

new chef, food backed up, delivered late, noise level much too loud. waiter was nice and tried but kitchen couldnt deliver. ordered salad and salmon and only received salad. asked for no tomatoes, received tomatoes. never going back.

What an excellent restaurant — such good food and creative cocktails. The service is fantastic and the room is beautiful. We especially are pleased that this restaurant is quiet without obnoxious loud, jarring music that so many other restaurants have. Fig & Olive is civilized and first rate.

The service was consistent and high quality, along with delicious dishes. The only downside was the cheesecake, which had cold/frozen grapefruit included as a topping and didn’t complement the cheesecake itself as well as they expect. Highly recommend nonetheless for a group dining experience or a date.

Very modern and attractive restaurant on two floors located near the Omni hotel and St Patrick’s Cathedral in Midtown East Manhattan. Very fresh ingredients and lovely attentive staff. Only detraction was the excessively bright lighting in the restaurant that depleted the nice ambiance.

I had a very mixed experience here. Although the food is great the service was subpar. I had a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly in the bar area, to be fair the restaurant wasn't that busy. Once seated we were able to order drinks and received those promptly as well. After me and my companion chatting for a bit we ordered appetizers. Unfortunately this is where service started to degrade. After waiting for 30min we attempted to find our server but to no avail. I eventually had to get up and go over to him to ask for our order status. After a few minutes a NEW server came over and asked us to "validate" our original order. Confirming that they not only forgot about us but never even put our order in. We placed our full order apps and entree. After doing so food arrived quickly and was very good. We shared the octopus and Little Gem salad both really good. In an attempt to correct themselves perhaps the also quickly served us our entree but while we were picking away at our apps. My companion and I both order the steaks and they were cooked perfectly. By this point it was 9pm, after loosing so much time waiting. We also then ordered desserts to share. The apple pie and flourless chocolate dessert were delicious. Unfortunately around 9:30pm they started packing up the Bar area very loudly and were clearly trying to drive folks out so they can close at 10pm although the website says they are open til 10:30pm. Overall, I think I could have forgiven the poor if they had just acknowledged their mistake and apologized. Maybe they could have offered us a free drink or free dessert but none of that happened. In the end, I doubt I would ever go back here. The food was good but VERY overpriced (our bill came out to $400 between drinks and food and that was for 2 people) and that to poor service and it's just not worth it.

The food was unusual but excellent in the preparation and presentation. My only complaint was the wine prices, which were ridiculous. $40 for a GLASS of decent but not exceptional wine? Over $120 for an average bottle? I get that Manhattan prices are going to be high, but how about a few reasonable options?

Been to a fig and olives. Food always good. Felt like they were passing the bottles flat or sparkling water on us… they charge for it. Also ordered 3 apps at $30 vs the $11 each and they charged us the $11 each. Also sat next to what I think was a prep kitchen. Not noisy, nothing really happening in it but they could’ve closed it up if they’re not using it so patrons aren’t sitting next to a kitchen.

The food is delicious, and better than any other mediterranean restaurant I have been to so far. Our server was wonderful and the ambience was cheery as we dined on Christmas Eve. I will say, they ran out of a few dishes that night, even though it was only 7:30 and the restaurant was surprisingly not crowded at the time. Other than that, the food was great, and the drinks were even better.

We sat down at 11:30am and they kicked us out of our table at 12:41 because they needed the table. That has never happened to me at a restaurant.

Quality of food seems to have decreased since I been there years ago. Too salty. Crostini not crispy. Flat bread very sparse in ingredients.

Terrible service - they sat us down then moved us forcefully somewhere else saying “that table was for more people” even though they knew how many people we would be before we sat down on the first place, they brought the mains before the appetizers then took back the mains when brought the appetizers, we asked for extra pita bread and they gave us ONE pita cut in 8 pieces, i got the Branzino and the veggies were cold - just overall bad experience
