Fat Ptarmigan is located in historical downtown Anchorage, AK. We serve authentic, wood fired pizza in a warm, inviting environment with a focus on service and attention to detail. We reach this goal with our wood-fired oven, house-made mozzarella, and specialty ingredients. Pizza

Fat ptarmigan pizzas are baked about 12-inches round. At 700-750 degrees in an Italian brick oven next to a hardwood fire. Our house-made and hand-tossed dough produces a crispy outside and a soft inside. A slight char on the crust holds the flavor of the woodsmoke and complements our freshly prepared toppings. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do! Gluten-free Crust + $3 (cooked in an area with gluten / gluten-containing products)

We had made reservations, through Open Table for Saturday evening prior to a show at the PAC and when we arrived we were advised that Fat Ptarmigan had no record of our or anyone else's reservation made through Open Table. I had a copy of our reservation and showed the desk staff and they were great, finding us a perfect table for 2 near the windows. Our meal & drinks were enjoyable and our evening went smoothly from there. Whatever the problem transmitting reservations to the individual dining establishment should be examined and repaired since our good experience could have been ruined.

Just a quiet and causal dinner date with my husband. We’re always pleased with our meals and try to order something other than “the regular” every now and then. Very friendly and well timed service from the wait staff. I highly recommend Fat Ptarmigan and I doubt you could go wrong with anything on their menu from my experience 😁

Was only able to book 4 seats through Opentable, but added message that we would like 6. Never got reply. We showed up to a table for 6. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have brought another couple. Food is always good. We got some standards pizza and Mac and cheese. 12 bucks a bowl is a bit steep for the portion size. Food came quickly, but server was mostly missing. Not very attentive. Bill was $99. We paid with $100 in gift cards. Had to ask for my not empty card back. Yeah, it’s only a buck, but it was my buck. And, yes, I did leave a tip. 20%. We typically only come here on New Years Eve because it’s close to fireworks. Guessing we won’t be back until then. Hopefully we’ll get better service.

Good food, waitress I think was having a tough evening. Forgot to place our order for appetizers and then put onions on pizza when she was told twice that the wife is allergic to onions. No matter ended up a good evening. Food delivered in a timely fashion and pizzas were delicious. Overall a solid experience.

Great service, great food! Considering it was New Years Eve, we were in and out in a timely fashion and never felt rushed or that things were taking too long with how busy it was .
