Fare Play is a pop-up restaurant created by Chef Brenden Blaine Darby, a San Fanfrisco chef, farmer, and artist with a diverse background of culinary collaborations with NOMA, Manresa, Martin Berasategui, and Yoshi's SF. The menu of Fare Play is inspired by Brenden's grandmothers while also showcasing hyper-local and their time working at Michelin-starred restaurants as well as jungles, deserts, and regenerative farms across the globe.

Our atmosphere strives to be a new third place for SF Locals with a unique service style reminiscent of eating with family.

                    What a fun dinner! I loved the elevated dinner party vibe and each and every dish was exploding with flavor. Wonderful to have a vegetarian spot to get excited about! We did the tasting menu which was SO much food- it could've fed four. The staff boxed up our leftovers making this a really great value. Hope this popup stays around!

                    Incredible food, incredible staff, incredible ambiance. They had a short but well thought wine list, each item in the menu showed that a lot of work had gone into every detail. Sergio was delightful from the moment we walked in till we left. It was honestly a crime not all tables were full. Definitely pricey, we paid close to $400 for 4 people after tip, with a bottle of wine, but well worth it. Its a shame they are not here permanently, but I will definitely make an effort to go back while the pop up lasts.

                    Incredible vegetarian fare. The blooming salad and buttery pasta dish with English peas were my favorites. We’re gonna go back soon.

                    Brenden and his team created a great experience. The food was terrific and the space was really pleasant, especially for a pop-up. Food highlights included the bean stew and the gnocchi. Great, creative name and hopefully will become a permanent restaurant. In the meantime, check out the pop-up before it closes in May.
