Named after Fanny Brice—the legendary movie, vaudeville, theater, and radio star portrayed by Barbra Streisand in her Oscar®-winning role in Funny Girl (1968)—the striking two-story, 10,000-square-foot space, conceptualized by the late architect Osvaldo Maiozzi, features a chef-designed open kitchen, elegant bar, and captain-based service style that nods to a bygone era, and offers diners cuisine by Chef Jun Bum Oh, with the support of Chef Eric Klein, SVP Culinary for Wolfgang Puck Catering. The restaurant is supported by Wendy Stark Morrissey, Brice’s granddaughter.

Fantastic restaurant, especially considering it’s inside a museum. Great ambiance - perfect music & artwork. Food was very good 👍 Prices quite high, but it was a treat to be able to spend the afternoon all at the Academy Museum, without having to eat elsewhere.

Staff was very mindful of our time. We had 7:30 PM tickets to Funny Girl in the theater at Academy of Motion Pictures. Food is very shareable and delicious.

We enjoyed the Sunday night themed dinner in conjunction with the Academy Museum for The Godfather exhibit. The lasagna… SO good! Very attentive server - the whole experience was a delight.

The wonderful Brooke was our server, and as always, she was excellent: warm, hospitable and very helpful. We always go to Fanny's when we're planning anything at the Academy Museum, and we are never disappointed with food and service.

Fun and convenient to both the Academy and Peterson Museums and LACMA. The food is good, the service is courteous but can be slow. The pastries are fantastic! Can get a sandwich or coffee and pastry and eat outside or at a communal table.

We throughly enjoyed this dining experience. It wasn’t busy and our server was friendly and experienced. I have celiac disease and though the menu had nothing marked she was able to suggest items I could eat without hesitation. Having that kind of reassurance from a server goes a long way with me. It was my partners birthday and they had a wonderful note card they gave to him that made the lunch special. As someone with celiac disease getting dessert in a restaurant is usually a bowl of fruit or a sorbet. But Fannys had the best cookies I’ve had in a restaurant like this. Overall this was a success. It was a normal price for the area and this was a special occasion so I was good with what it costed.

We were in a rush to make it to an event at the Museum. The wait staff was very accommodating and we had enough time to eat at a reasonable rate without rushing down our food. The food was overpriced, but very tasty.

Fanny’s was an absolute delight. I went with a work colleague and my meal was outstanding. Our favorite items were the meatballs, the lobster Cobb, and their new dessert A Poetic End. If you’re looking for a restaurant with old Hollywood flare and amazing cuisine, go to Fannys!

We attended the Sunday supper event (Godfather-themed) after visiting the museum. Our dinner capped the day off splendidly. The innovative cocktails were the highlight for me, but the Caesar salad, pasta dishes, and strawberry shortcake were also quite good. Go for the drinks, experience, and excellent service and enjoy your meal.

Every moment of our dining experience was fantastic. We were seated immediately. The waitress gave excellent recommendations on drinks and food. The room was well lit for visibility of our menu and each other. Everyone was pleasant and seemed sincere when inquiring of our needs. The food was exquisite, from the bread to the salad to the entree all the way to dessert.

Our experience was wonderful from the moment we entered, and was greeted by the bartender, because we were early she seated us and brought water immediately. Let us sample the wine we wanted to order. She was truly amazing. Then there was David who helped us with our selection of food. The food was excellent, and we will definitely dine here again!!!

Very lovely experience. Wonderful server. Great atmosphere. Delicious food. The focaccia bread was one of the best breads I have ever tasted. It is served directly out of the oven and it melts in your mouth. Not kidding. Worth the carbs.

Pleasantly surprised. All our food was prepared very well and was delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely a must if you don't want to move from the museum area and are looking for a reasonably priced yet delectable meal

Everything was great. A little eyebrow raise to the 5% healthcare percentage added. How much more will the diner have to pay for the servers salary when a place like this apart of a Hollywood business should be able to include that.

First time going to Fanny's after visiting the Academy Museum. Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was, really delicious. Loved the ambiance, felt like it was a restaurant studio executives would have lunched at in they Hollywood heyday and during the week it was pretty quiet so you could have a conversation without having to yell. Wait staff were all very nice. Would definitely go back there.

I go to Fanny’s about 2x a month. The service is fantastic. You feel really taken care of. The food is delicious and the cocktails are well-made and creative.
