We were there for Mother’s Day brunch and the server never mentioned anything about it (no “happy Mother’s Day, etc”, forgot an item for one of the mom’s plate and took forever to return to ask us how the meal was before we could mention the missing item. All the moms were supposed to receive a gift, which was a $10 voucher for a return visit which expires in 2 months, however she only gave me one (the younger mom…not the two grammas, who are also moms). It was just a very humdrum experience. We don’t need to return. Also perhaps a heads up regarding the construction along Broadway corridor would be a nice touch when sending a confirmation so we can plan accordingly and give extra time for parking.

Hands down, the best burger I have had in Vancouver, if not Canada. Setting is classic diner with a retro vibe. Will be back for the meatloaf!

Extremely pleased with service. Ambience was quiet andm cozy. Menu offerings were a bit short but we fared well. Quality of Meatloaf not up to my anticipations but OK none the less.

Menu overall ok but differences between online menu and the actual menu in the restaurant. A little bit disappointing. Service was ok but we got the main course before even finishing our starters, we felt rushed. Might give it another try one day, maybe for brunch

Checked last week and it matched - but the menu did recently change a bit and the website was maybe behind. Sorry for this disappointment! Also sorry that the mains were received while the starters were not done. The team didn't seem used to coursing the food. Hopefully, if you do come for brunch, things will go more smoothly. The soup, salad , and dessert is great, but my steak is over burnt at first when I ask for medium rare. The server did agree to offer me a new one, but still a little burnt on the outside. Then our server forgot to cancel the fee for it and charge us double. But our server did end up willing to refund it for us so that's not an issue. We are just not entirely happy with the long wait for food due to lack of staff

There was no heat, and when we asked the server if we could have one of the space heaters pointed in our direction it became clear that they did not work either. Not usually a problem, but pretty measly on one of the coldest nights of the year. The least that management could do was offer a complimentary hot beverage. They did not. The meatloaf was not great, and of course the food got cold quickly. I have eaten here three times previously, and they have been declining in quality each time. I won’t be back.

Very sorry to hear you won't be back. It's true, the heat was not working and sorry that you weren't provided a freebie as a result. Agreed, very bad timing. It's fixed now of course - was the very next day. Please give info back into how things have declined for you? Recipes have not changed, but we really want to know of your impressions, since chances are, you are not singular.

It was a busy Tuesday lunch. We made a reservation. We waited about 20 minutes to get our orders taken. They said that they were down one cook today apologized for the delay. After the order was taken, we waited about another 55 minutes to get our food. We told a server that we have been waiting for over an hour to get our food, and we are hungry. I asked if we can have something while we wait. They said they‘d check on it. After the server inquired about our food and returned, they said, "It‘s been 45 minutes. Your food should be out soon and there‘s nothing I can bring that‘ll be faster than your order, but we‘ll be sure to give you a discount for your wait." When we got our food, the fries tasted stale, and the hollandaise sauce did not taste the same as usual. The sauce tasted sour. But we were hungry and had to leave, so we just accepted the food. It’s a popular diner but a disappointing experience. The servers should be granted permission to give the hungry and impatient customers some food when there‘s a lengthy delay on their order.

Sorry for your disappointment. Servers do have permission to give food to hungry guests, but as they mentioned, nothing would have been ready before your food. Since down a cook, having one person dedicate themselves to making something for you and others to eat while waiting would result in an even longer wait. Sorry again, since this soured your experience.

Amazing brunch experience! Service was excellent, although the server did seemed frightened of the guests and did not check up on us during the meal. Would absolutely reccommend this to anyone :)

It’s quite expensive for how simple the food was. It wasn’t bad but there was no wow factor, way too simple. Would say go to Whitespot or Triple Os instead for burgers and shake, it’ll be cheaper and tons better! Was actually really shocked by how small the portions were. But the restaurant was really quiet and looks nice, clean and lots of seating.

Thanks for coming in. I have worked at Whitespot as well. I can say first hand that not only do they get better deals, since they are a big purchaser, the quality is not as good. By all means, go there, as I like them too, but the burgers and shakes are definitely not better. :)

Nice group brunch place. Duck pancakes, hot mess and truckers breakfast plates are large. Smoked salmon bennies with rosti small in comparison. Busy so service was slow for coffee and water refills. Only drip coffees available. No lattes etc

We went there for breakfast and the food was surprisingly insipid and below average. Same for the three of us. I would never go back. High prices for such low quality food, I feel people go there for the ambiance only.

Quite disappointed actually. Avocado toast was meh… I could’ve made wayyy better at home. Eggs were cold and was charged for salad which I thought was coming with dish. Granted it was fathers day but it took over 45 minutes for our order to arrive. Too many other great places to go…

Great food and service. They did forget my friends milkshake but it eventually came. I would have liked to have seen some greens served along side the chicken benny. The plate felt a bit sparse and I noticed that my friend who order the salmon benny got salad. Just a suggestion.

They no longer offer the prohibition breakfast, which means you need to order off the menu. Luckily, that's a safe bet.

This place used to be really good, with lines out the door. Not sure whether management changed, or what, but it's just garbage now. We've tried a couple of times and both times the service is awful, and the food equally bad. Given the place was dead quiet on a Sat night over Easter long weekend, its no surprise it was quiet. Restaurants, especially in Vancouver, especially in Mt Pleasant, need to stay on top of their game to survive, unfortunately Fable clearly hasn't.

The food was average but the problem was the bennys for all three of us came out quite cold.

Our server was awesome! They were friendly, funny, and helpful. Our food came out in a timely manner despite how busy it was. The only critique I have is that the portions seemed to have gotten smaller while the prices have increased :( We had the prohibition meal and the scones at the start and cookies at the end have shrunk by half the size. Our entree (the vegan bowl) also seemed a lot smaller. It was mainly a bed of potatoes with a few leaves for kale, some mushrooms, and a carrot. It was delicious but not very satiating and it was missing the cauliflower advertised. The milkshakes we ordered were satisfactory in size and really good!!
