Farmhouse est une taverne artisanale du Midwest axée sur un accueil chaleureux, une bonne bière et une merveilleuse nourriture dans un quartier confortable, au cœur d'Evanston. Centré sur le Midwest, Farmhouse propose 36 bières en fût provenant de l'Illinois, de l'Indiana, du Wisconsin et du Michigan. Nous proposons des liqueurs artisanales locales, ainsi qu'un vin. Les ingrédients du menu sont récoltés auprès des agriculteurs locaux, et ils changent avec les saisons du Midwest. Farmhouse propose des hamburgers de bœufs élevés en plein air, des steaks et du poulet. Ils font presque tout sur place, à partir de rien. C'est une taverne verte. 85% des matériaux de construction, des meubles et des accessoires ont été récupérés à partir de vieilles granges du sud-ouest du Wisconsin, ainsi que d'une usine abandonnée du côté sud.

This place is awful Really dirty (food all over the floor and many staff just hanging around rather than cleaning), unprofessional staff (drinking sodas while walking around and not cleaning, multiple staff coming up to us and asking the same questions, not great communication), dirty uniforms and hands…food was not hot and just really basic like what I make at home-fettuccini Alfredo tasted like jarred sauce and clumpy, tomato soup had good flavor but was not hot, bread was stale and the whole table area was just so dirty. Ugh. I really liked the farmhouse and Thomas and Dutch. I don’t know who owns or manages this spot but they need to get their act together.

We had a nice brunch here. Service was a bit spotty and inconsistent. Maybe our server was new? I am sure it continues to be hard to retain great help. We had to ask three times for coffee and the first creamer was curdled. Pretty significant pause between when two entrees were brought and the third one. We asked about it because the other dishes were getting cold. That being said it was a perfect day on the patio and everyone was friendly. Food was good.

We were there at 5 pm on a Tuesday and they were out of flank steak, so the steak salad was not available. They were also out of the sirloin steak entree. Both items are on their regular menu. And the service was very, very slow. Most menu items are overpriced which is fine I suppose if you are staying at the Hilton and have an expense account. But it's not fine for the rest of the Evanston community.

The service was terrible. One guy taking care of an entire restaurant. Also they had a brunch menu and did not offer the lunch menu which I think was not clearly spelled out when reading about it. It was quite limited although my husband did think his omelet was good. No salads offered and only a couple of sandwiches so if you didn't want breakfast it was quite limited. A brunch menu and the waiter did not know if they had egg substitutes. No bread was offered at the table. No anything. Our friends and I had the hamburger which was not anything spectacular. The drinks came almost at the same time as the food. They forgot to give me a take home box so I just left the rest of the burger. Overall it was awful.

My friend and I each ordered two scrambled eggs that was supposed to come with potatoes and we both ordered one slice of toast. We did not get the potatoes. It was difficult to find a server and our bill was $30 for two eggs and toast times two.

Finally, we have a solid restaurant in this popular location with great food including the best fries I’ve had in a long time.

This was the second time we went to Corner Bistro. The first time our service was not very good. My husband’s soup came after our meal was served and that was only because we kept asking the waitress about it. We decided to give it another chance. Similar service. They are clearly understaffed. My husband had to go track down someone to come seat us and another family that was waiting. Our food took a very long time and the restaurant was not busy so it could not have been a backup in the kitchen. And our waiter seemed uninterested. This is a service business. Be overly attentive to your customers! We will not be going back for a third time!
