Inspired by both Cabo San Lucas’ beautiful coast and Mexico City’s vibrant cosmopolitan neighborhoods, Esperanza’s thoughtful design blurs the lines between art and function. Masterfully designed by internationally renowned Islandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, Esperanza’s interiors reflect an elevated coastal ambiance that exaggerates the grandeur of a beach town villa.

Chef Ray Alvarez oversees a menu featuring fresh interpretations of Sonoran cuisine while Head Mixologists John Fox and Kevin Williams developed Esperanza’s bar program to not only include delicious and playful cocktails, but the two have also created the largest tequila list and mezcal collection in the South Bay.

One of the best Mexican fusion restaurant in LA. The drinks ( mostly margaritas) were super refreshing and unique. The service was genuinely amazing even when the restaurant was 100% to the capacity . Highly recommend this place !

The hostess could not seem to find my reservation when I got there and finally seated me while I waited for my friend. She then told my friend she did not have a reservation under my name. If she had looked for the reservation she would have also seen it listed a special occasion, my friends birthday for which they did nothing to acknowledge this or offer even a cupcake to celebrate the occassion. $11 for a non alcoholic beer also seems to be a bit gouging considering the bill for two people came to over $100 with each only ordering one drink. Pretty steep. Really need to get their act together.

Saw some bad reviews but wanted to try it out for myself. I went on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 pm. Restaurant was pretty full but our service was very fast and our waiter was very polite. Liked the food & drinks.

Server was personable with great recommendations, decor was stylish & fun and loved the open air seating. Our food and drinks (palmilla and spicy mango margaritas) were top notch. Just visiting briefly but will definitely be back if we're ever in town!

Love Esperanza! Vibes, music, drinks (fav is Dante’s inferno) are amazing. Have try the surf and turf enchiladas. So good. Also Fridays nights there was a DJ so a lot of fun with friends.

Told the waiter there was hair in our ceviche and he said let me take care of it. He offered to get a replacement but we didn’t want a new one since we it was end of our meal. He then took the ceviche off of our table. We asked for the check and we were still charged full price for it and we barely touched it.

I’ve dined here several times before. Went back yesterday because someone else chose the place. Unfortunately, this review fits every other time I’ve been there. Food is good, atmosphere is great, service is AWFUL! Waited 35 minutes for a margarita. Waited 40 minutes for the waiter to come back and take our food order. Bar and restaurant were half full. The wait staff said the delay was because they were “slammed”. Some items we ordered never arrived. There are too many great dining options in the South Bay to go back and have this experience again.

Honestly the food here is mediocre at best. The atmosphere is cool and the service is ok. It’s a 3 out 5.

This marks my second visit of this esteemed establishment since its opening. My partner and I had the pleasure of drinking in a selection of margaritas. It is our shared opinion that the spicy margaritas meet the high standards we cherish. Concluding our visit, I opted for the Chicken Suizas Enchiladas and was delighted by the delectable flavors of the dish. We are unequivocally looking forward to our next visit.

Food wasn’t very good. Menus were sticky. I had to ask to wipe down my seat because it still has food on it from previous party.

We came twice this week for my birthday and neither time did acknowledge the celebration or offer any dessert. We were here for lunch on a Friday and it took 45 minutes to get our drinks and an hour to get guacamole. We also tried to add an extra taquito for our appetizer as we had 4 people, and our server stated, “we’re too bougie here— we don’t do that”. Same owners as Palmilla in Hermosa beach, would recommend going there instead.

We had an incredible time and Hunter was an amazing server who went above and beyond for us. Thank you for making my friend’s 40th a great and memorable day. Short rib tacos and chile rellenos are the best in the South Bay!

Amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Starting with a beautiful open decor that feels like vacation. We shared the Queso Fundido Flameado, Shrimp Taquitos and Filet Mignon street tacos along with delicious Margaritas. It was all absolute perfection along with our very attentive waiter. We will be back and highly recommend.

The homemade tortillas served at every table with butter and salsa are a highlight for me!!! So good!!! I hade the relleno with langosta and shrimp and it was excellent.

Great evening on a rainy Wednesday at the beach. Food and service were great. The restaurant was a little quieter than usual probably because of weather but it was nice. Order the ceviche!

Food was mediocre, service was sub par. Table of 4 was given 3 waters. Server forgot multiple items when asked throughout dinner but did send out a birthday dessert. Ambience was great though and all drinks were good! Overall would not be my first choice for dinner in MB.

Pretty disappointing actually. We’ve been to Esperanza several times, and I think quality is declining. Super loud to point where conversation is basically impossible. Service was disengaged at best. Waiter literally had to shout to describe dishes and food took a long time. We never received a second order of their tortillas (which are maybe the best thing they make). Food itself was ok. Ceviches were solid but not as good as I remember from previous meals there. Street tacos also pretty good but Tacolicious down the street is better. Drinks were good. Prices were reasonable.

Our waiter was friendly and fantastic. The venue itself is very cool. But cool in temperature too. The whole front of the place is open with no wall and we had to keep our jackets on the whole time. The food was very tasty and we loved the trio of guacamole. The filet tacos were too smokey flavored. We finished with the flan and it was amazing. Big enough to share!

Let me begin by saying the decor was gorgeous, the food was great and our server, Sam, was the best! We weren’t rushed and we were well-attended-to by all staff members. The ONLY reason for 4 stars is the noise level. It’s not the music. That was just right. It’s the voices. You do need to talk loud to converse. Highly recommend, though.

Amazing servers and bartenders Kevin, Doug, Taylor and Aaron were spectacular. I took guests for the first time and they made it beyond memorable. We will be back!

My daughter arrived first and the rest of us were a little late but they sat her and let her order appetizers. We arrived a few minutes later and jumped right in. That was cool. The service was energetic, attentive and the food was fantastic. Also the ambience was exciting. Truly felt like the place to be.
