Great food. Good price. Took over an hour for first course to come out. Ended up being a 3 hour dinner.

Everything was so good - from the cocktails to the appetizers to the mains...so perfect. We really enjoyed this dining experience and will definitely be back. Thanks Ember for making my husbands birthday dinner something to remember!

First time visiting and will definitely go back. The food had great flavor and was well presented. Our server was attentive and steered us well on choices. The Halibut was outstanding! We also really enjoyed the Shrimp the mussel appetizers. For mains, we enjoyed the Josper chicken and the Broccolini was stellar. Highly recommend.

The food was even better than I expected. Got the crudo, potatoes, and the wagu and some cocktails and all were fabulous. Service was great and prompt. Will be recommending to friends

Everything, both in presentation and quality, was absolutely incredible! The food was delicious, well-seasoned, and well-cooked! The atmosphere was peaceful and the staff was friendly and professional! Ryan was our waiter and he was magnificent, attentive enough to be helpful it not much that our meal was disturbed — exactly what we needed. I can’t wait to go there again!

We loved our dinner at Ember Kitchen. Tried the tamal, halibut, filet mingon, and greens salad. They were all delicious. Seems the chef pays close attention to detail of flavors and preparation. Also the service was top notch, and I was pleasantly surprised that the noise level allowed for easy conversation, despite being full on a Friday night with upbeat music in the background. I definitely recommend!

Was a great experience. Steak I ordered I asked for medium rare and most of it was medium to medium well. Took a little longer to get started with the first part is the meal than ideal.

Another overpriced looks good restaurant. No hello/goodbye from the reception guy. Great cooking on the Josper but meat came cold and starters are common.

It was an absolute pleasure dining at Ember kitchen, my boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday there and it was amazing ! The service, food and ambiance was outstanding, they absolutely go above and beyond for their customers and I will be returning soon and definitely recommend it.

The Josper-roasted halibut was delicious, one of the smaller entrees but including a tasty sauce. Order the flatbread to go with it. We also had the filet mignon & that was perfectly cooked with an interesting squash & onion stir-fried side dish. We'll be back!

This was our first visit to Ember. The location was very cool, being part of the integration into old power plant. The ambiance was trendy and quaint, yet could accommodate many customers on two levels (we were seated in the lower level). The lower level was dark and cozy and the upper (ground) level was vibrant, since that is where the windows are, allowing the natural light in. The food was amazing. Every appetizer, side dish, and main dish was crafted with excellence. If you haven’t experienced the flavors that a Josper oven creates for your food, then you must give this a try! One minor downside is that the menu is limited. The meals you can get are amazing, but be sure to check out the menu before you go. They are accommodating to food allergies. The service was amazing. Our server (Maddie) was super friendly, dynamic, and thoroughly informative about all aspects of the food, drinks and restaurant. Also, they validate your parking for two hours at the adjacent parking garage, which makes for a great convenience being downtown. Not to mention, this location is one of the easiest in-and-out restaurants I’ve been to in the downtown area.

This was our first time here, and I must say that everything was amazing! The food was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavors. And the service, to include the reception, and at our table was second to none. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and we will be back many times!

Outstanding meal and service last night at Ember Kitchen. We were seated in the downstairs bar area. It was quaint and cozy but not at all tight among the tables. We felt we could easily talk (just 2pp) and couldn't hear orher table conversations. The meal was one of the best I've had in all of Austin for the last 5+ years. We started with the octopus - exciting flavors in every morsel. We shared the filet mignon (special) prepared in the Josper oven. It was heavenly and melted in your mouth prepared med-rare as the chef recommended. We also had the side of greens and potatoes. Both also excellent. We shared a dessert. Plenty enough food for two. We enjoyed the spicy welcome tasting cocktail plus 2 more cocktails prepared by the talented mixologist behind the bar. We had 2 beautiful glasses of wine with dinner. Also an excellent espresso martini and the Julian non-alcohol cocktail which was beyond my expectations. Highly recommend and we will return. The prices are high end.

Ember Kitchen gives you an experience like none other! The ambiance is amazing- it’s totally chill, atmosphere has the best vibe and energy. Our server Christina made our evening so special! She was fun, professional, friendly and started our night with the most delicious shot! Christina was extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant and everything about the Josper Oven experience. What an absolutely incredible evening at Ember Kitchen!

Ember Kitchen in Austin has garnered a reputation for its exceptional live-fire cooking and Latin flair, and my recent visit there only solidified its standing. The restaurant's location within the historic Seaholm Power Plant adds a unique industrial charm to the dining experience, which is complemented by the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. The star of the show is undoubtedly "the Josper," a coal-fired grill and oven that is central to the preparation of Ember Kitchen's dishes. The grilled chicken was a testament to the Josper's capabilities, arriving with a perfect char that enhanced its flavor and made it a memorable dish. The shrimp scampi was another highlight, with the orange-hued shrimp in a buttery sauce with morita chiles offering a delightful kick that paired beautifully with the crispy flatbread. The steak, too, was a standout, tender, and amped up by a birria sauce that added depth to the dish. The service at Ember Kitchen was impeccable, with staff who were eager to share their knowledge and provide recommendations. Ember Kitchen offers phenomenal food and drinks, but my reservation experience fell short. Despite booking for 7 o'clock, we weren't seated until 7:30, with the host showing little concern. Considering the steep prices, I expected better service and a more accommodating attitude. While promised a complimentary shot, it turned out to be standard for all diners. The waitress was excellent, but the delay dampened our experience. Overall the food and drinks made up for it but they do need to fix their reservation situation.

The food was delicious, the server knowledgeable and engaging. They started us off with a complimentary drink and small bite. We went there for my birthday and the staff had a signed card with notes. It was very sweet.
