Ember Indian Kitchen is inspired by a Fusion of East African and East Indian Culinary History.

The streets of Kampala, Uganda boast tender meats that are charbroiled on skewers on grills and in burning hot tandoor’s.

Meats are infused with special homemade marinades. Vegetarian dishes are fresh and cooked with special herbs and flavourful spices. Spice levels adjustable.

The food was outstanding. And the atmosphere is very good. It has some lovely views of the river from the windows. We had a window side table. It was very nice. Well worth the money that we spent.

Great food, good service, cold beer, low sound level, nice decor - modern and clean. Overall, an excellent experience, except that 18% tip was automatically added to the bill. I’d like to make the decision about a tip myself.

Si te gusta la cocina India, este bellísimo lugar es un imperdible, que grata experiencia ha sido visitar Ember Indian Kitchen, su propuesta es innovadora pero mantiene la esencia y lo místico de la deliciosa cocina India,. recomiendo pedir al centro y probar todo lo que tu apetito te permita, realmente cada platillo tiene un toque muy especial. el detalle único de Ember Kitchen son sus anfitriones, una bellísima familia que te recibe, te atiende, te consiente y va a cerciorarse que estés difrutando; su dueño es un caballero calido y amable con una charla siempre positiva, pasamos una linda tarde aquí, las vistas son hermosas a metros del lago. sin duda es una joya de la zona que vale la pena ir a conocer. no olviden pedir una botella de Riesling del País para disfrutar la original y bella cocina de Ember Indian.

Lovely ambience and delicious food. Nice warm atmosphere. Our server was very friendly. Only low point was when another employee brought us the bill.. when we said that, as two couples, we wanted it split down the middle.. she said you can do it yourself on the credit card machine..whaaat? She hadn’t asked about tea or dessert or anything else and reluctantly eventually did split it. Then she walked off in a huff without saying good bye, thank you.. Would definitely come back tho.

We love coming to your restaurant but we often find the service to be slow, the lights are always bright, and no music. Its a beautiful room, but you need more "ambiance" and attentive service.

Food was bland, for African/Indian fusion it was really dumbed down and cater to a more “basic” customer it seems. One of the servers was great but the specific one serving us was rude.

We had a nice lunch at the Ember Indian Kitchen restaurant. The beef Mishkaki served with a small salad and french fries was delicious. The other dish was the Alaskan Cod Fish - Biryani served in a bowl with Basmati rice and several tasty spices. We enjoyed the food and will definitely be back again.

The fish pakora was excellent. If you order hot /spicy they do make it very hot. We ordered the Tikka masala, butter chicken and lamb chops. All of it was good. We will definitely come back.

Staff shortages both front of house and kitchen will solve a lot of their problems. The food doesn't scream spectacular, just your average food you would find in a food court. Be prepared to wait. We waited 45 mins for our first items to come out. and it all came out at once no separation of appetizers from mains. If you are in the neighbourhood and craving this cuisine then give it a try. But i would not go out of my way for this.

Ember has a varied menu which includes some North African dishes. Everything we tried was very tasty, well cooked and spiced. We had daal, chicken korma, spinach Baijian (sp?) and eggplant fries, all with rice. I stayed away from gluten :) The prices are comparable to any other restaurant and the food is delicious. plus it's a nice setting, overlooking the Fraser River.

We have eaten here a few times and enjoyed it. The last time we dined here, we were disturbed to realize the bill did not match the prices displayed on the menu. Server did not mention the "price increase" and we did not see the small sticker on the menu that seemingly served as notice. I have nothing against businesses having to raise prices, but this felt like false advertising. Buyer beware- prices listed on the menu are not what you will be charged, and there is no mention of a overall percentage or dollar increase, so it feels pretty arbitrary. Ok food, strange service, and the mystery price increase at the end means that we won't return.

We love going for the food at Embers. It never disappoints. However the service is always slow and rather poor. I seem to always wait an hour for food. The location and view is wonderful. If only the service would improve I would go more often.

Always disappoints in some way. Food is never quite as good as elsewhere. Service is sometimes adequate, often sub-par. Like the location so always hope it will be better. I think we have given this restaurant its last chance

Spacious room with views over river. Dine out menu with lots of options for two courses and rice pudding dessert. Excellent service and very good food with large portions.

With all of the great reviews, we were super excited to try Ember Indian kitchen as a part of Dine Out Vancouver. It was the worst experience ever. All of the food was served cold. At first we thought it was our own fault and that the appetizers were cold as we were taking selfies for Instagram. However, even the mains arrived cold. We let the staff know but were met with shrugs. Initially we actually sent the masala fish back as it looked nothing like the menu picture and was slathered with marinara. Lamb tikka flavours were good, but again cold. We attempted to stay positive. The fish was overcooked, as if it had been sitting out for a while. Half our plates were white rice and naan. Majority of our meals went into takeout bags with the intention to heated up at home, but we were so put off by the experience, we put the food in the bin as soon as we got home. Would not recommend.

We enjoyed a hearty lunch on a very cold day. The setting is ideal with the Fraser River flowing nearby. The food never disappoints.

I enjoy our neighbourhood restaurant Ember Indian Kitchen. Staff are always friendly and inviting. As always, the food is very good to exceptional. I love their Butter Chicken as well as the Karai Chicken. Restaurant is clean and there is always free parking available in the area. My favourite place to dine.

The food is great, the location is nice, and the staff are friendly. They have classic Indian dishes and some special ones too!

Great food, our main server (she wore glasses) was friendly & helpful, & naturally we appreciate the gorgeous location. We’ve probably been to Embers 10 times, both for casual meals & various special occasions, but this was the first birthday celebrated there. My only disappointment was that despite advance communication on my part, there was none from Embers about what they’d do for the birthday celebrant. I had to get up from my chair after we’d ordered dessert to remind them, whereupon they suggested putting a candle in the dessert we’d ordered. Then it all went smoothly & was fun. Such a special spot, I hope they address that small gap in communication so we think of Embers for other birthdays & such. We like this restaurant very much.

Ember Kitchen is a must try! The food is delicious and full of flavour, all staff including the owner are attentive and friendly, the decor is upscale warehouse, and the patio is large and peaceful. We had the mogo and grill prawns to start, and butter chicken with garlic naan and mishaka with regular naan as entrees. It was all so delicious we got an order of chicken tikka to go, which was also delicious the next day! 5-star from the service to the food!

Everything is so good here! Get the $5 hot sauce if you like spicy. It’s super flavourful.

Great little hidden spot. As someone not used to Indian food in any capacity, the meals looked and tasted great. Given the summer weather and time of day, the patio seating was perfect for an evening meal. Definitely looking forward to trying more items from the menu, and just eating at the restaurant again in the future!
