Enjoyed an anniversary dinner. Our server was wonderful, explained some of the dishes and shared which ones were her faves. The food did not disappoint, very good and the timing was spaced nicely since its small plates. Overall nice evening!

Our server was super nice and helpful with deciding what we should get from the menu and recommendations and the hostess gave us a good table with what we preferred and accommodated us showing up a little late given that it was Mothers Day. The food was great, kebabs and kafta juicy. Can’t wait to come again

It is too bad this wonderful place has fallen so far off the mark. We went to dinner on Mother's Day. The place was not full, yet the service was way off. It took about 40 minutes to get our first appetizer and a glass of wine. Our next app also dragged, but not as much. The food was delicious, as it usually is. But the very slow and inattentive service made for a disappointing evening.

In all food was good, did find a small fragment of plastic regrettably (the dish itself was removed from the final bill). Service was ok, quite slow with drinks. The hostess was accommodating and pleasant.

Ambience, service and style; absolutely outstanding. Gastronomic delight; We were a group of 7, and probably ordered everything on the menu. Delicious! Simply loved the bhel and Lamb hummus. Desserts; frozen yoghurt and sticky date cake was simply mouth-watering.

Honestly a little disappointing. We loved Aba, and figured we’d equally love it here, but it was sort of a miss all around. Our food was pretty subpar, same with our drinks.

It was lovely. Very well trained, knowledgeable, kind staff. Food was delicious. My pomegranate mocktail was tasty but a little too sweet imo. I commented to my wife that I actually really like the decor here because it is a neutral pallet, and very calming...it's not in competition with the food or the service or the companionship. This was our third time there, although it had been a few years. Sorry it took so long to get back! FYI, the "small plates" aren't small if you're just two ladies with average to light appetites. Perfect amount of food for us without leaving feeling uncomfortable.

Interesting & delicious tasting plates-tapas style. Not super filling but the array of Mediterranean flavors is very satisfying. Vibrant atmosphere on a Tuesday evening.

Food was delicious. Service was slow, even after we told him we needed to be out in about an hour. Had to flag server down for everything and had to get a manager (he was great) to get the bill and pay it.

Food and service were excellent. Wr shared a Greek salad, a large salad. If you love olives, great, otherwise ask them to go easy on the olives. Hubby had the Halibut which was fabulous-hear my envy? Served with a butter, curry, coconut sauce which i will have to try at home. I had the grilled octopus which was cooked very nicely - tender and served with buttery mashed potatoes. My one complaint was my dish was just warm, edibly so, but if it had been served to Hubby, would have gone back! We added the crispy potatoes which were so crisp, hot, with the greek equivalent of parmesan cheese and rosemay. You must try them. I finished off the crumbs, they were so tasty. Enjoyed a chardonnay and gamay pinot with our dishes. The atmosphere was great - even at 5:30, there was a good after work crowd there. Noise level was low enough you could talk without yelling! Our server was attentive. All came out very timely. We even put our order for crispy potatoes in after entrees were delivered and they came out in under 5 minutes. A suggestion would be for servers to offer fresh pepper with salads, or to place grinders on the table. Overall a great place to enjoy mediterranean. We enjoyed a pre-theater experience and allowed enough time to walk to Navy Pier for a 7:30 start time. Enjoyed Jason Alexander in Judgement Day. Great evening!!

Wow. It takes a lot to impress me and this restaurant checked all the boxes. Our Server was an absolute gem. He was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and always checking in on us. The food was beyond delicious. We had hummus, falafel, brussel sprouts, the lamb/beef kabobs and Frozen Greek Yogurt for dessert, and literally ate every bit. It was our first time eating here and I would give it 6 stars if that was a choice. Cannot wait to come back!

Ema is one if my favs but they missed the mark this visit. Ordered a chopped salad they’ve recently added to the menu and added salmon. The salmon was completely overcooked and the chopped salad was a bunch of romaine (not chopped) with a few thing mixed in. Seemed pretty haphazard.

I love Ema. Every time I’ve come, I’ve had great customer service. The outdoor dining area is very cute and the food was excellent as always. My sister and I each got a different mocktail and both were really delicious. The date cake is a must-have!

I understand that they want to have a quick turnaround to serve many tables, but bringing all the food—both hot and cold—at the same time is not how the tapas concept is supposed to work. Given the prices they charge, including a hidden surcharge, they should pay more attention to their service. This place is not what it used to be.

Food is very consistent here but like most places giving less for more money. Main issue for me was their service has gone down hill. Our waitress barely acknowledged us when we ordered, never checked on us for drinks or anything, table was a mess and end of the night didn't know how to process a bill correctly.

I’m often at Ema but this wasn’t a good experience. One - some dishes were missing from the menu and when I shared that with the front desk in a very friendly manner about how I enjoyed the dish, the response was very cold or rather like ‘don’t care’.

The food was tasty and promptly arrived. Our waiter was helpful and efficient. My only complaint, is that every time I eat at Ema (and several other restaurants). I get the worst seat in the restaurant, granted it was only two of us...and two people are limited to two tops, but every other party of two had a well located seat..two men or a man and a woman. The other woman I was dining with commented on this as well....it is as if two women automatically get the WORST location because we are less likely to complain I guess?

I love Ema! I've been going since they opened. Wish they would recognize that when I come in instead of asking if it's my first time. Jose was a great waiter. He did recognize an anniversary my friend and I were celebrating & offered us dessert. Nice touch!

Outstanding evening sharing small plates at Ema. Beautiful airy space (especially when open to patio on the warm day), impeccable service and delicious food. Bridget did an excellent job with the delicate balance of giving us space and time while also being attentive - checking in unobtrusively as we were talking. The new hamachi crudo (with strawberries and rhubarb) was delectable, and the new "Bhel" hummus sounded a bit crazy when we read the description, and ended up being our favorite dish. Taking a pause and looking across the dining room we could see the team working together - even managers helping to serve - to ensure everyone had a seamless experience. Going out to eat is as much about that and the atmosphere as it is the food - and Ema delivers on all 3.
