Benvenuti Nella Mia Cucina, Belli De Nonna! Before we dive into the delicious feast prepared for you, let me give you a little taste of my vita. I was born in the heart of Rome, and I've been cooking up a storm my entire life! My cucina has always been the center of the universe for my 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, their friends, loved ones, and acquaintances – everyone was always Benvenuto!

Now, we've brought that same love and flavor right here to San Diego. My beloved grandson, Niccolo', and his amore, Cesarina, are opening the doors of my Cucina with the same warm heart and passion.

Wondering how I made it to 95? Well, it's simple: I ate everything that's served here and filled my life with amore! So, Benvenuti! Don't hesitate to indulge in "Scarpetta" - dip that bread into the sauce, just like my grandchildren used to do at the stove when they thought I wasn't looking.

Phenomenal! From the moment I entered, I felt like family. Juniper, our server, was so welcoming, nice, and knowledgeable. Nick, one of the owners was absolutely amazing. He was happy to share with us the love for his Nonna Elvira and Rome and the best way to eat our Carbonara. I thought the show stopper was going to be the carbonara...it was, but the Rigs Norcelli was phenomenal and tastes like another is necessary to take home. The Panna Cotta was smooth and refreshing The freshly made still warm choux "donuts" with creme and chocolate dipping sauce, lovely I love this place and hate that I have to go back to the E. Coast. Nick, I love that the family is a part of this establishment...can't wait for the T-shirt

Take your server's recommendations on any of the dishes since they could be a little different. The pizza was great! We tried the Super Arrabbiata, yumminess. We've eaten at both Cesarina and now Elvira. We are so pleased with their attention to service, it's exceptional. We'll be back.

Amazing meal! I’ve been twice and each time every dish has impressed. Pasta and all ingredients are fresh and family inspired. The donut dessert was fun to fill and dip. I’ll definitely be back.

Authentic handmade pasta and pizza Roma style - delicious! Staff were friendly, attentive and delightful. Love the decor and beautiful menu celebrating aspects of Italian culture. Wonderful place!

the service was exceptional I PERSONALLY, like thinner pizzas, but that is just me. The pizza was delicious, but I prefer thinner.

Fabulous first time at Elvira. Festive decor, delicious homemade pasta and great selection of wine and cocktails. Entertaining and charming server who made my birthday feel special! Reminded us of being in Italy. We will be back.

We brought my parents here and had such a lovely time! I loved the gluten free cacio e pepe rigatoni! Aside from delicious food, what stood out the most was the excellent service thanks to our incredible server Andrea. She was so knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. She made our visit extra special. Thank you 🙏

We are big fans of Cesarina (sister restaurant) so we were really looking forward to Elvira. The service was wonderful and the ambience is cozy. However, I was a little disappointed in our pizza. We ordered the "build your own" pizza and found that it was lacking flavor. The pizza dough was dry and the sauce was bland.

Pretty expensive wine options for a pasta and pizza spot. Loved the homemade noodles, martini, and ambiance. But left with over half of our meal because portions were so large. All waiters had earpieces which was distracting and didn’t make us feel like we could relax and hang out.

Cute vibes and good food! I think next time I would skip the pizza and just get pasta. The pasta was amazing but the pizza was just okay.

Amazing service and the food was superb. We were a party of 5 and shared The Ortolana pizza, Rigatoni alla Norcina, Carbonara pasta, Tonnarelli ajo, ojo e Gamberi plus some appetizers recommended by our host and each plate was perfectly portioned and well balanced taste. For dessert we had the panna cotta - delish!!! Not too sweet but just the right amount of sweet 🙂

Proper sister restaurant of Cesarina. Service is quality and food was great. Hoping they develop some more appetizer options but it’s made up for in their pasta and pizza selections. Can’t go wrong eating here.

Thoroughly enjoyable dinner. Warm and considerate service, wonderful tasty food and bright uplifting atmosphere. We started with the prawns and Caprese salad both of which are favorites of ours. The marinara is very tasty and special while the Caprese is very pecorino forward and refreshing. The pasta special was a baked eggplant dish that was new to us and just super on a gray cool evening. We finished with the Super Arrabbiata pizza which has a ball of burrata in the center which is very refreshing and really completes the dish.

Cesarina has been our favorite go to spot for a while and I’m so happy we finally tried out their new spot. Oh my goodness everything was SO good! I love that they serve family style so everyone can try different things. The rigatoni al sugo was so flavorful and just perfect, we couldn’t get enough. We did a build your own pizza and that also came out delicious. We can’t wait to come back and try more!!

Excellent service! I love when restaurants where there are the servers but also everyone willing to help — even the owner! Our server, Juniper was great at providing great recommendations and describing the menu well.
