Benvenuti Nella Mia Cucina, Belli De Nonna! Before we dive into the delicious feast prepared for you, let me give you a little taste of my vita. I was born in the heart of Rome, and I've been cooking up a storm my entire life! My cucina has always been the center of the universe for my 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, their friends, loved ones, and acquaintances – everyone was always Benvenuto!

Now, we've brought that same love and flavor right here to San Diego. My beloved grandson, Niccolo', and his amore, Cesarina, are opening the doors of my Cucina with the same warm heart and passion.

Wondering how I made it to 95? Well, it's simple: I ate everything that's served here and filled my life with amore! So, Benvenuti! Don't hesitate to indulge in "Scarpetta" - dip that bread into the sauce, just like my grandchildren used to do at the stove when they thought I wasn't looking.

Service was very friendly and attentive. We sampled the Provolona Pizza. On the OneBite scale, I’d have to rate it a 5.2 disappointment but the high quality sausage and toppings almost made up for the dough which wasn’t up to par. Cacia E Pepe was very good, pasta cooked to a nice al dente, wished for more fresh cracked black pepper. Best dish we sampled. The Friday special was baby octopus in a rich and savory tomato sauce described as an entree but sadly begged to be served over pasta, as an entree it left me wanting to rewrite the story! A few more choices in the appetizer section would be nice. Overall we found it over promised and under delivered grandmom’s home style cooking.

Still struggling over $80.00 for 6 slices of pizza a small plate of pasta and one glass of wine.........but the restaurant is great, especially the people. That does include tip.

Warm and professional service coupled with delicious Italian food in a charming setting. Both of the pasta dishes we chose were excellent (tonarelli with shrimp and fettucini with braised short ribs, I think it was)! Don't be confused by the menu on the website (was it just me?)... just go.

Everything from the wine, food, dessert, and digestif was fantastic. I will be going back repeatedly.

Four of us we all had drinks, pizza ,pasta and the special which was an eggplant dish. All of us enjoyed everything. We’re coming back.

Food was average. Cesarina is a far better restaurant by the same owners. Service was good if a bit slow (but super friendly and engaging, so nothing to really be upset about). Didn’t feel like the food was anything unique.
