The service was outstanding! The Salmon dish was perfect, and I enjoyed baby lentils with Kale. I am a former Chef who owned their own business for 27 years in Beverly and every time I go to Ellis Square it is an all-around great experience! Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend

This was my second time at Ellis Square. The first time was really great. This time, only average. When we arrived, there were only a few occupied tables. We were quickly waited on but the food took a very long time to come. By the time we got our food, the entire place was full. I had the chicken which was served on a very soupy risotto that threatened to fall off the plate. It was ok but not great (disappointing because I love risotto). The chicken was a little dry. That’s all we had time for. If it hadn’t taken so long we wanted to have espresso martinis. I’ll give it one more try.

We regularly go to Ellis Sq for date night. The food and service is always amazing. I never feel rushed. We love the ambiance, too, no tvs!

We made reservations at Ellis Square Social based on a recommendation from a friend. Very cute restaurant, fun cocktail menu and the bar looked great. Unfortunately, the positives end there - we had a 6:30pm reservation in advance of an 8pm show at a nearby theater. We placed our food order by 6:45pm and by 7:45pm, our food still had not arrived and our waitress had not checked in or made any attempt at keeping us updated. We paid the bar tab and left, our dinner never having arrived but yet a sour taste in our mouth from the overall experience. Unfortunate, but hopefully they get some things sorted - the place has promise, but we did not have a good experience.

The food was predictably good, which is why we choose it for our pre-show meals. My husband had the Bavette steak which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My sister snagged the last order of scallops and said her food was very tasty. I had the chicken sandwich, also very good. We shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Expresso Creme Brulee as a dessert between the 3 of us. Very tasty!

This was our first time here, and we were thrilled to find such a GREAT cocktail bar! The service was exquisite and the food was tasty, too. Love the high-backed leather booths and the general vibe of the place. We will be back!
