Located at the luxurious HALL Arts Hotel in the Dallas Arts District, the award-winning Ellie’s Restaurant & Lounge is inspired by dining traditions that harmoniously balance an art-filled, modern aesthetic with great food and genuine hospitality at every table.

A business chic dress code is recommended for evening service to ensure an upscale guest experience. We respectfully ask that gentlemen wear shirts with sleeves and long pants.

Join us for Happy Hour from 4-6pm Monday through Friday for 50% off featured wines, beer, and highball cocktails, and enjoy featured shareables.

Enjoy live music every Thursday from 6-8pm, Friday from 6-10pm, and Saturday from 6-11pm for an elegant, artful dining experience. Jazz Brunch is every Sunday from 11am-2pm

We’ve been to Ellie’s at least a half dozen times since they opened. For us that’s frequent for a given restaurant, and we’ve gone back frequently because we’ve always considered it a high quality experience, expensive but worth it when we need something in that locale. Last night was disappointing. When we arrived it was packed with the pre-theater crowd, but I don’t give them a pass for that since they market themselves aggressively for that clientele and they knew what their reservation count looked like. We had a reservation but our table was not ready when we arrived. I ordered a martini and the waitress asked if I’d like blue cheese olives but then took back the offer because she remembered they were all out. She brought my martini in a wine glass with a bit of a joking apology since they were all out of martini glasses. Fair enough, but they knew what their reservation count looked like so they could have anticipated a run on martinis. The fries were described as accompanied by “house-made ranch, simply irresistible” but instead arrived with boring ketchup. My pork milanese was nicely cooked but inadequately seasoned, and the “tri-color salad” was a very sad looking pile of cabbage and carrot scraps, no dressing, for $34. My wife asked for the roasted salmon to be medium but it was well done and so not very good. This is not an inexpensive place and based on price and prior experience we expected better. We’ll be looking for other options in the future.

This is a hotel restaurant and we were not aware. Short staffed but friendly. Food was average and did not meet our expectation. Location is great for walkability and in the art area is nice. Nothing in particular was wrong just did not meet our expectation.

We had a wonderful time at Ellie’s! We had an appetizer, the red snapper with crab on top and the steak with broccolini entrées, and for dessert shared the flourless chocolate cake with coffee. Every dish had special touches of gourmet that was a perfect complement and were delicious! Chelsea was our waitress and she was so engaging, helpful as we determined our menu choices and attentive! We stayed a long time because the atmosphere was so beautiful, and the music was very pleasing without being too loud. We look forward to the time we Are in town and can go back!

Absolutely delicious food, a great cocktail menu, and our waiter was so attentive!! Great for before a show at the Winspear, or meeting friends for a drink!

We ate on the patio since the weather was nice. The furniture has aged and the cushions were very worn. We felt forgotten by our waiter. And our entree took a long time to be serves.

We had reservations the night before with Sydney as our server. He was personable, attentive and made our night The next day we had Scott, it’s one of our worst experiences. His service was horrible. After being in the industry for almost 20 years it was not in my nature to leave 10%. He honestly didn’t even earn or deserve that amount. I don’t leave reviews however, it was that bad.

Poor service - waiter never checked on us without having to flag him down constantly. Food was overcooked. Hollandaise sauce was basically scrambled eggs. Took over an hour to get 3 dishes served and the restaurant wasn’t busy. Another table next to us left since no waiter checked on them since sitting down. Not coming back.

Unfortunately, I have had mixed experiences here of late. Some of the menu items are very good (chicken sandwich) and others are poor. One of the worst Caesar salads I have ever had.
