Now this is what I call a great dining experience! Exactly what we were looking for while on vacation. First off, let me just say, the minute you walk into the restaurant you feel like Jimmy Buffet ( God rest his soul) would have performed here . The food was outstanding. We started off with chips and an assortment of salsas . I had the governor tacos and my husband had the octopus tacos. Both were so tasty. Our server, Carlos , was very attentive . We were there for a couple of relaxing hours and never felt rushed . The prices are very reasonable. This should definitely be one of your go to places to eat.

The food was very good. I’d probably skip the chips and salsa like our Texas salsa better. Guacamole was great. The governors tacos with shrimp were so tasty and well as the shrimp tostadas. Waiter was very good so were the margaritas. Definitely will go back.

Our server brought out the wrong order for my entree. I immediately pointed this out, and he essentially refused to bring the correct order. When I insisted, he still refused, insisting that he’d get in trouble if he made the change. The whole incident left my wife and I very uncomfortable.

The food as usual was amazing there were 7 of us. I toys, coconut shrimp, orange shrimp, apricot all was amazing. Our server was Antonia and he provided great service .

The place is really lovely with great views of marina and sunset. The fish tacos were delicious with the extra spicy sauce I ordered on the side. The oysters not to my tasting although large rather bland.

Everything was fabulous (guacamole, margaritas, music, atmosphere), then the entrees came out. The shrimp cocktail was just weird. A bowl of maroon sauce with a few shrimp floating around in it. The sauce was quite sweet, almost like maple syrup and cocktail sauce mixed together. But they did take it off the bill. The skirt steak was quite fatty, grisly, even for skirt steak. Fettuccine got ate well, as did shrimp ceviche.

Food and drinks were good. Went to the upstairs taco stand for lunch 4 out of 6 days. Good value. Ate dinner downstairs once. Meal was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had never found this special gem. Loved it so much we went back for our last meal in Cancun. The service was excellent. All of the waiters are very attentive and helpful. The tempura calamari are delicious. We dine at some of the best restaurants in Cancun and this is now one of new favorites!! A must for anyone who wants a great meal at a very good price. And the music was great too!

Our El Fish Fritanga visit was muy excellente! We were able to sample 3 dishes that we’d never had before, which is exciting in itself. Their specialty pescadillas with shark meat were as delicious as they were unique. While I’ve tried making Tichin Xic at home in suburban Ohio, it did not compare to this authentic, locally inspired dish. Lastly, we were intrigued by the pineapple Creme brûlée. Served in a hollowed out pineapple, T’was easily the most creative take on a classic we had seen. Oh, tasted phenomenal as well! They even snuck in an extra treat as we indicated were were celebrating an anniversary. Bienvedes gave us great service and we would suggest El Fish Fritanga to anyone. Gracias!

After a long day in the sun, this was a pleasant respite for a delightful dinner and music. Chips and salsa started the feast which were authentic. We had coconut shrimp which was moist, tender and delicious dunked in mango sauce. The chicken fajitas were the best I ever had!!!!! Leftovers the next day perfect. The service was exceptional and very attentive. Gracias!

We came for lunch, and it was delicious as always. This was our first visit since the renovation, and it is even better now than before. The new version has more room, bigger tables, and you don’t feel like you are sneaking down a back alley behind a Dominos. The tuna sashimi was delicious, even on a Sunday, and the fish fritanga and fish tacos did not disappoint. The drinks were also good- we had classic margaritas and a vodka passionfruit cocktail, and after a week of drinking resort drinks they seemed very strong. We came early in the day so I can’t speak to how loud it might be later, but the service was good and though we didn’t bring our kids, I think they would have been fine. (I’m not sure if there was a kids menu since we didn’t need it.) I am eager to try the taqueria out front later in our visit, and would recommend Fish Fritanga to anyone considering visiting!

We had the sautéed shrimp tacos and fish tacos. They were dry and really should come with some sort of sauce on them. Corn tortillas were rubber. Would try to get flour tortillas instead if they have them. Guacamole has a great presentation but definitely very bland. They need to add some garlic powder and onion powder to give it more flavor. Coconut shrimp were good and too big. Probably would be better if they were just regular size shrimp. The mango dipping sauce was delicious. The service was fantastic and atmosphere was great too. They have done some nice improvements to the restaurant! Domestic beers are too expensive at 85 pesos. We had 2 Chardonnays and the taste was great plus a decent pour too! Two glasses was 300 pesos which was a good value. They do give 10% off if you are staying at certain hotels. They do serve taco chips with 5 great dipping sauces!

Had a very nice dinner and really enjoyed some of the dishes. My salmon in rosemary dill sauce was excellent along with the shrimp in jicama wraps. The calamari appetizer along with the kids shrimp and fries were not as great. Both batter dipped and way too much breading. A beautiful sunset, a DJ along with a mariachi band at the break made for an wonderful evening. Prices were reasonable for Cancun. Looking forward to coming back.

Very good place to eat fish. I loved it. I am pregnant and the staff helped me out with what to eat, because i cannot eat everything. It didn’t felt like i was in a touristy city. Every customer is important for them. Food was lovely.

My husband and I made a point of returning to Fish Fritango after a previous visit two years ago. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh well prepared and portions were generous. Service was attentive and price was reasonable. We hope they don’t change a thing !

We enjoy dining at El Fish as they provide a great meal, environment, and service for the price of the meal. Our wait staff was very professional, efficient and on the spot to meet our needs. The food was well prepared and served hot from the kitchen. My clam chowder was very tasty and hot so I was able to enjoy it as it cooled. The menu was broad so there was lots from what to choose. The background music was very appropriate and not intrusive. The live music was fun and they played in several locations in the large restaurant, and even played for tables if they wished. The price was very reasonable. Final note, this restaurant is open air under a thatched roof at the water level by a marina. The floor is crushed shells but is raked, cleaned, and easy to walk. They have 2 sets of fairly steep stairs to get from street level to the restaurant. It is very children friendly. All in all, El Fish continues to be on our annual dining out list. If you like a more traditional Mexican dish, this is a great place.

The food was outstanding and the service was great. But it took at least an hour to get our food. Drinks came out fast. Not fancy at all. Beautiful view of the lagoon. We will for sure go back

You can’t tell by the front of the restaurant, but take the stairs to the actual restaurant level and you will be surprised. Laid back with great service and food. Had the guacamole and smoked marlin as appetizers…could have been our meal. I then had the shrimp mignon with the baked potato and my husband had the lobster with veggies. He said they went a little heavy on the garlic, but it was tender and otherwise, delicious. Somehow, we found room for flan, which was ok, but not as good as his late Spanish mother’s flan…lol! Since we were celebrating my birthday, they brought out a brownie with a sparkler in it. Overall, we had a great experience. I put 4 on the ambience as your view is of the lagoon, but it appears they are reconstructing a deck by the dock area.

We are foodies and we always enjoy finding hidden gems on our international travels. We didn't even know that Fritanga had been featured by Guy Fieri until we walked into the place. It is not overly marketed from the street side and if you weren't looking you might just walk right by the entrance. Anyway, we went here 3 times over 7 days. Each was great and I think we preferred the late lunch hour the most. Of the 8 dishes we tired, all were very good, but the shrimp ceviche was the star! And the real gold star goes to the habanero salsa they serve to every table, along with 3 other salsa's and chips to accompany. Put a slight amount of that habanero salsa on every bite of everything else and it expands the flavor profile to a new level. Go enjoy!
