This is the second time at element with my friend and I love the relaxed atmosphere, no pressure and good food at reasonable prices. I will definitely be back.

My Scottish-American husband loved the fish and chips and even let me taste - amazing! My Chicken Balmoral was absolutely incredible(chicken stuffed with a lively fluffy haggis and wrapped in bacon with super fresh snap peas and herbed mashed potatoes I could not help but finish!) my parents loved their meat pies ( not beef, but pork on this night) The only problem was the live music - too loud and he sounded the same on every song - angsty and too much singing vs just guitar. I was actually happy to hear the guitar when we first entered but then…that voice😬. Distracting and not pleasant. Hard to converse. Our reservation was messed up and they sat us in the bar. To their credit, they did move us to the dining room, but not much sound barrier. Servers were very nice and did a good job.

Lovely Sunday lunch although no English Mustard or Horseradish when the only choice was beef. Service was very slow at times although they were very polite and professional.

We booked Element for a pre-rugby lunch and it was excellent. SUper location, good beers, nice laid back atmosphere in the bar. The restaurant at the back is comfortable and relaxing, great staff and tasty food - good range of wines too. We'd go again.

A great recommendation for a brilliant breakfast or brunch. We were in Edinburgh for the rugby and reserved tables for both Saturday and Sunday (necessary on both days) and had great food. The full Scottish Breakfast was just the right size and wonderfully cooked. As a group we also had the French toast and the avacodo on toast, which were both enjoyed. The service was very good and friendly. Thanks and a perfect start to the day of rugby !!

Came here for valentine’s day after seeing so many good reviews about it. Was slightly disappointed. Staff weren’t very friendly and questioned us if we had not ate all of our food and seemed rather annoyed. There was also something sharp in my mashed potato which I had with the Balmoral Chicken (not too sure what it was, looked like it could’ve been from a chipped plate).

Despite having a kids menu, this isn’t a great place to go with kids in the party. We booked a table in advance and were sat in the bar area which was loud and not the best setting for a family dinner. The waitress put our food down and practically ran away, didn’t ask if we wanted anymore drinks or if we wanted sauces/accompaniments with our meal. Had to flag staff down in order to get attention. Food was lovely though.

Staff were fantastic. Food was amazing with generous portions. Yes it was a reduced menu but the issues with delivery over New Year can't be helped.

everything was fine. Just a pity I couldn’t eat what I wanted, because at 8.45 there was no steak anymore. Quite unbelievable that you run out of steaks for dinner 🤷‍♀️

If you would like to taste scottish food - it‘s your place to go! The food was incredible, especially the scottish beef basket. Nothing to complain about.

Had a lovely meal here before the Party in the Park Festival on Hogmanay. As it was Sunday, the roast was available and was delicious with plenty of succulent roast beef. The staff were very efficient and could not fault the service, especially on probably the busiest evening of the year.
